Can anyone relate or is that just silly?

How did your tell your significant other (SO)? He and my friend had been trying to tell me that my symptoms meant I was pregnant and I argued with them because I didn't think it would happen so I finally took a test to prove them wrong and some how I got proven wrong

I'm excited to join this post! I never thought I'd be here. I got married June 21, 2014 to the love of my life. I've never had the desire to have a baby before, but the desire has been STRONG. I'm 42 and he's 54 so we're not spring chickens. We saw a fertility specialist and the news was discouraging. Testing and going to the fertility doctor was affecting our marriage so I decided not to push it and we stopped going. In September I made a decision that I didn't want to try for a baby because I didn't want to have to deal with that feeling of disappointment the next month. Low and behold, that's when we got pregnant! It's a crazy miracle and I want to shout it from the mountain top, but we have decided to keep it quiet until Christmas time when we want to tell our families.

I'm terrible at keeping secrets and was a little worried about his reaction since it had been a hard decision to make to start trying, so I didn't want to plan a whole cutesy reveal and scare him. I ended up just handing him three tests I had taken over a 36 hour period and let him figure it out himself
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: DH and I are almost finished building a new house, to be complete next Friday. We're planning on using the house as a excuse to get both sets of parents together for a tour, then explain to them that we won't be having two spare bedrooms, just the one as one will need to be a nursery!

Well, I tested on a Monday morning and we were both already running late for work, so I skipped the cute "reveal" and sparkling cider toast and I threw the onsie at him and showed him my pee stick...
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: I am still having a little bit of trouble believing it... DH is too. He wants me to POAS again to confirm. I just want a doctor to confirm. Here's to 4 weeks of waiting for this be feel real!

How did your tell your significant other (SO)? I had taking a test a few days before and it came back negative (it was early- but I was anxious). I had a work dinner and wanted a glass of wine to get through it- but knew that there was still a change so I took a test in the AM to confirm if I could have said glass of wine- I couldn't. My husband was away for work- so I text him "Guess what" and then sent a pic of the positive test. He's never called so fast.
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: I've been anxious all week. We had a MC with our last pregnancy and I don't want to go through that again. Hoping that joining a board will help keep my enthusiasm up/ anxiety at bay.

I told him on a walk along the Hudson, one of our favorite things to do in the city. We were supposed to find out via blood test on a Wed, but we both had other plans that night so wouldn't be together. I wanted us to have some time together either way when we found out (plus I would super impatient), so I took a home test that Monday. Two pink lines!

How did your tell your significant other (SO)? I walked to his office (he works from home) with the test and was shaking because I was in shock. He gave me a huge hug and said he already knew (what?!). I started crying and the shock is finally wearing off....after 3 1/2 weeks

Hi there everyone! I have been stalking the board for the past week and wanted to do my intro now that I can finally post.
Based on the online calculators I am due June 27 and this will be my first today I am 5W 1D.
I am 35, hubby is 36, and have been TTC for 18 months. I did three rounds of Clomid and IUI's and all failed so we stopped trying and two months later here we are.
How I told him: I handed him the pee stick and just told him. He asked if it was a joke and a fake stick, I told him no then he asked if it was his (he was joking).
I live in Texas and work full time at a university, am taking 9 hours to try to finish up my masters program in the spring, am building a new house and now this...it will be a busy year! Hubby is a veterinarian and we have 4 dogs. First ultrasound is Wednesday and Dr. appt. on Thursday and I am excited.

How did your tell your significant other (SO)? I took 4 tests, all positive, and imediatly went out and bought a tiny baby fisherman's hat. I put that in a bag with a card saying "Your going to have a new fishing buddy next summer!" I gave it to my DH right when he got home and got it on video. His reaction was so sweet.
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: I have PCOS so it took us awhile to conceive, but I totally believe it's all about Gods timing!

How did your tell your significant other (SO)? The exact same way both times. "I think I might be pregnant" and showed him the test. He knew I'd be testing because of the treatments.

How long were you trying to conceive (TTC)? Since January. Was a somewhat frustrating process, as I had a completely regular cycle, used ovulation test strips to be specific, had good doctor appts, etc, and it just seemed to take a long time! I was concerned my husband had a problem, or that my insanely short periods (1.5-2 days, tops) were the issue. Glad to not be worrying about that anymore!
How did your tell your significant other (SO)? Told him when he returned from work (I had the day off). Longest 9 hours ever!
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: I'm crazy nervous and trying to find a balance between excitement and staying grounded. Also, I teach kindergarten so I'm stressing about pregnancy in general and how I'm going to chase after 24 five year olds while safely growing a baby in me!

My nerves were calmed for about 24hrs & now I'm on to worrying about the 10wk appt. yay! My current concern is do I spill the beans at Thanksgiving (which is 3days before my 10wk apt.) or wait till Christmas!?!?! Bah! Waiting is rough!

HE just grinned (he does not show any emotion well). Later he told me he was excited and scared too (we lost our last baby at 5 weeks).

I took the test, left the room and we both walked back in to read it together. He helped convince me it was really true!
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: We may have to move during the pg as my husband is in academia. I'm nervous bc we have no idea where to yet. I'm also hoping we can fake it through Thanksgiving with the in laws bc 12 weeks is after, and I want to tell my parents first in person at Xmas.

TTC - we've been trying since September 2013. Had a miscarriage in August 2014 and had 2 chemical pregnancies this summer 2015. I am so very excited to finally cross over week 10, but I am a total worry bee that something may go wrong.
How did I tell Daddy? --- haha I'm a pretty cheesy/corny person so I got a pizza and spelt "prego" with the pepperoni's and then wrote "we're expecting" on the inside of the box. Then when he opened the box I pulled my positive test out and just smiled. He said "are you serious" I said yes! And then he fell to his knees crying it was perfect. ---- though we aren't telling anyone else till atleast Thanksgiving when I'm 13 weeks.
Anything else? --- Well I'm currently a full time office manager, weekend nanny, and evening swim instructor. I guess it's time to calm some of that down... Other than that, I'm a total worry bee and am so excited to have some pregnant mommies beside me to chat with on here. I have zero people around me pregnant which sucks, but thankfully I have found the wonderful June 2015 family! 6 months
How did your tell your significant other (SO)? We took the test together. Pretty special to find out together. There were tears (mostly on my part).

DH and I have been married for 6 years, and really enjoyed being the two of us for that time. BUT, now we're pumped to grow our family!
I was a regular over on TTGP, so I'm happy to see some of those gals over here and to get to know some new ladies!

A little about me: 35, DH is 33, in NY,NY, pregnant through IVF. I've had some light bleeding off and on so have been really nervous (I'd be nervous anyway) but doc has assured me it's totally normal. Trying to trust him and stay off Google

Are you a first time mom? If not, what number? Yes! I've been pregnant before but m/c, this is my first time seeing/hearing a heartbeat. Still terrified but taking it one day at a time

About two years; this was our first round of IVF
How did your tell your significant other (SO)?
I told him on a walk along the Hudson, one of our favorite things to do in the city. We were supposed to find out via blood test on a Wed, but we both had other plans that night so wouldn't be together. I wanted us to have some time together either way when we found out (plus I would super impatient), so I took a home test that Monday. Two pink lines!

This is my fourth pregnancy- we have two living kiddos (7 and almost 6).

We weren't. Total shock!
How did your tell your significant other (SO)?
I walked to his office (he works from home) with the test and was shaking because I was in shock. He gave me a huge hug and said he already knew (what?!). I started crying and the shock is finally wearing off....after 3 1/2 weeks

I'm excited to cloth diaper again- I'm a not-so-closet hippie! And I'm so excited for our son to be a big brother....and our daughter will be a fantastic older sister- again!

How did your tell your significant other (SO)? Some kid robbed us of my husband's iPhone 6 on our anniversary... And I was telling my husband I ran after the little douche but I'm fat and pregnant and no way could I catch him. He was like "wait! What??? You're pregnant?!" Happy anniversary honey...
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: I'm in Washington and I'm so glad for a June baby! The weather should be perfect!! I also have 4 cats and I got married in February

I was so excited I couldn't do a formal cutesy show. I ran to the bedroom, woke him up and made him look at the test. It was a tell me I'm not crazy?!?! You see the line too right?!?

How did your tell your significant other (SO)? I came out of the bathroom crying (happy tears) with a positive test

So I think my due date is around 6/18 but really not sure as I just had my mirena removed in August and didn't get a period before our bfp. U/S is Thursday so should know more then!
This will be our 3rd- we have 2 girls 4.5 and 2.5.

How did your tell your significant other (SO)? I took 4 tests, all positive, and imediatly went out and bought a tiny baby fisherman's hat. I put that in a bag with a card saying "Your going to have a new fishing buddy next summer!" I gave it to my DH right when he got home and got it on video. His reaction was so sweet.
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: I have PCOS so it took us awhile to conceive, but I totally believe it's all about Gods timing!
Hopefully this baby will stick to the right time... My daughter was 8 days late!

How long were you trying to conceive (TTC)? Planning for a while but husband is in the Military & was away for 7 months... Got preggo on 2nd cycle trying!
How did your tell your significant other (SO)? I tested in the morning... Left the stick outside on the patio chair (where he goes to smoke - usually as soon as he gets home). It took him a second to process it & he came running back inside the house and gave me the biggest hug.
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: I'm 35 & hubby is 29. We have been together for 11 years!

Are you a first time mom? Nope! This will be #2 if it sticks. DS was born 9/2/13.
How long were you trying to conceive (TTC)? 17 months. We had to do infertility treatments for both kids (IUIs with injects)
How did your tell your significant other (SO)? The exact same way both times. "I think I might be pregnant" and showed him the test. He knew I'd be testing because of the treatments.
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: H and I have been married 6 years and I've been on the knot/bump/nest off and on since starting wedding planning in 2007.

How long were you trying to conceive (TTC)? Since January. Was a somewhat frustrating process, as I had a completely regular cycle, used ovulation test strips to be specific, had good doctor appts, etc, and it just seemed to take a long time! I was concerned my husband had a problem, or that my insanely short periods (1.5-2 days, tops) were the issue. Glad to not be worrying about that anymore!
How did your tell your significant other (SO)? Told him when he returned from work (I had the day off). Longest 9 hours ever!
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: I'm crazy nervous and trying to find a balance between excitement and staying grounded. Also, I teach kindergarten so I'm stressing about pregnancy in general and how I'm going to chase after 24 five year olds while safely growing a baby in me!

Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: I am living proof that medicine and diagnosis only get you so far. I was NOT supposed to conceive naturally. It was with my strong will to be a mom, my faith and my ability to trust in the process that I am carrying this little bean. I can't wait to see how this pregnancy progresses I pray it's the real deal

I was really cranky the night before we found out. So I told him I bought him a present to make up for being bratty. When he opened it there were the 2 positive test!

I'm new in town- 1st baby. 7wks 3days & Due June 19th!
We did the whole "not trying-but careless" plan & boom! Here we are!
Just had my 1st Dr. Appointment & ultrasound & thankfully all looks well. My nerves were calmed for about 24hrs & now I'm on to worrying about the 10wk appt.
My current concern is do I spill the beans at Thanksgiving (which is 3days before my 10wk apt.) or wait till Christmas!?!?! Bah! Waiting is rough!

We were TTC 5 years ago and stopped after 3 years of nothing. We weren't trying and 2 years later, surprise!
I told my SO via text of a pic of the test. I was scared and wasn't sure if I was reading it right so he helped from work.
Anything Else: I'm 33 been married for 7 years to my amazing husband. I have anxiety disorder so this is all very scary for me. I rescue dogs and have 2 of my own that were fosters and we adopted them. I still feel like I'm in a weird dream.

AF was late but unpredictable so we were both thinking I should test soon. I said Saturday, but we only made it to Thursday waiting! I took the test, left the room and we both walked back in to read it together. He helped convince me it was really true!

We may have to move during the pg as my husband is in academia. I'm nervous bc we have no idea where to yet. I'm also hoping we can fake it through Thanksgiving with the in laws bc 12 weeks is after, and I want to tell my parents first in person at Xmas.

How did you tell your significant other: I truly didn't think I was pregnant as I took an early results test a few days before my period was supposed to start and it said negative and I always had an off period anyway but when it never came or came I took a test a week later and there was that second line and I called him at work " so I think I might be pregnant" haha
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself? Well I am a mental health practitioner working with kids and teens with many different diagnoses. My SO and I got married last March and I am so over the moon happy to be adding a little one to our family but really nervous I'll do something wrong or lose the baby

I wasn't feeling too hot so he made me take a test. he's got baby fever as he's turning 30 in January and I think he's having a midlife crisis about not having kids lol. the first test I took had the faintest pink line and he wasn't convinced (I've seen that a lot on this board I think it's a man thing lol) so I waited a week and took another and it was undeniably pregnant. He didn't know about the second test. I waited until he got to work and texted him the test. He cried in front of his coworkers lol.
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself:
I'm 26. I manage a group home for adults with disabilities. Graduating college in a few weeks. I have a dog named rocko. It's our first baby and the first grandkid. We are waiting until Christmas to announce because that's after the 12 week mark. We're pretty sure it's gonna be a circus lol.

First time I've been this far along!
TTC - we've been trying since September 2013. Had a miscarriage in August 2014 and had 2 chemical pregnancies this summer 2015. I am so very excited to finally cross over week 10, but I am a total worry bee that something may go wrong.
How did I tell Daddy? --- haha I'm a pretty cheesy/corny person
Anything else? --- Well I'm currently a full time office manager, weekend nanny, and evening swim instructor. I guess it's time to calm some of that down... Other than that, I'm a total worry bee and am so excited to have some pregnant mommies beside me to chat with on here. I have zero people around me pregnant which sucks, but thankfully I have found the wonderful June 2015 family! I can't wait to get to know everyone and to go through such an amazing experience with y'all! I wish everyone a very happy healthy pregnancy! Xoxo
