@babyfmama I think Harry is super cute! And I can say that people (family & others with thoughts & opinions) generally get over the name thing. Or they adapt. My second son (8.5) is Judah & my dad calls him Tommy because, "Judah is too weird". He calls our one-year-old AJ for Augustine (uh-Gus-tin like the Saint, not like Florida) James because Augustine is also "weird". But I think his approach is... at best atypical. Our names are (3 names are traditional for our family) : Girl: Alice Emily Margaret Boy: George William Mitchell or George Mitchell William
They're all family names, but lately I've really been liking Calvin for a boy. The husband is not as into it as he is George & I don't know if I like it/care enough to push.
Update: huge breakthrough this weekend. H agreed that we should name the baby what we want without others' commentary swaying us one way or another. Harry Andrew is back at the top of the list!

We found out we're having a boy on Wednesday. Girl names were easier for us then boy names apparently we settled on Emily for DD early on and had Lucy picked out if this one was a girl.
So far the only boy name we can agree on is Beau Francis, but I think we want to have two names to choose from going in so we can pick whichever suits the little guy the best.
Is anyone else just a tiny bit worried someone they know might use the name you love before your baby is born? I know quite a few people who are due before me and it has me a little worried. Especially since my names are becoming popular. I'm just going to hope that it won't be an issue.

We found out we were having a boy right before Christmas. We pretty much knew the name regardless, Billie/y. So since it's a boy his legal name will be William, but we will call him Billy.
William Ray William is not only my late fathers name, but also DH's fathers and brothers name. Ray is DH's middle name.
My husband and I had been pretty set on both a girl and a boy's name, but then we found out we were having a boy. Since both of our fathers passed away recently we were going to pay tribute to them and name him Jeffrey Mark. We also aren't planning on sharing the name beforehand. However, at Christmas Eve my grandmother came up with this idea and I just know that if we went with it for the rest of her life she will go around telling people that she named our baby. So we opted to move both names to middle names and are now considering Roland as a first name. My husband is a huge Stephen King fan and is also an English teacher so he has been obsessed with the name since reading the Dark Tower Series years ago.
Is anyone else considering going with 2 middle names?
Could you do Mark Jeffery instead, if she suggested Jeffery Mark?
We now have a list of 10 names we both agree on and also work with DS1's name. Ten seems ridiculous to me at this point but I'm not taking any of my favorites off just in case DH changes his mind and comes around. Last time it was so easy. I'm envious of everyone who has decided, I'm so eager to start calling the baby by his name.

Wow, love these! Was just thinking recently how cool Alex is for a girl, and also have been really into the name Royal. Was thinking of it only as a boy name, but really like it for a girl's MN.
Our baby girl is going to be Jocelynn-Marie with a NN of "Joey". I know the double "n" at the end isn't popular but we wanted to stick with it because of how we spelled out our DD's name. It's also tradition for the first name to be hyphenated....

We're not finding out the sex of the baby so we need a boy and a girl name, and we downloaded "BabyName" (the icon is yellow and white with an egg) and it works likes tinder, swipe right or left for yes or no to the names that appear! You sync your app with someone else's and for every name you swipe "yes" on that they do as well, it compiles a list of all your mutual "yes" names! It's brilliant. Our top boy name wasn't featured on the app, and it doesn't have all the names, but it gave us a great list to work off of. I highly recommend it!
@emmaaulelei That app sounds really handy! Too bad MH doesn't really want to actually look for a name . . . He seems to just want me to come up with names so he can decline. He hasn't actually brought one name to the table. So far its all me asking "How about this one?" and him replying with either a flat out "no!" or "Its alright I guess." Anyone else have an S.O. that isn't really helpful like this? I will give this app a shot this weekend and see if he bites.

My husband have agreed on Nora Ann for a girl and Wyatt William for a boy. Monday we find out which one will join our family! We already have a one and half year old Emma Sue

Still searching for a middle name for Connor. We were set on Connor right from the beginning, but no clue what middle name would fit. I heard and read a lot about Connor James, but don't want to do this combo if it's so common. I kind of like Connor Luke but husband doesn't like it. Decisions over decision.... Any suggestions?
@Kurrant mine was the same. I came up with the names, he turned them all down. Until we actually settled on names from a few days after we found out we were pregnant but I've been doing the name game with him for years and keeping track of what we liked.
Is it bad that part of my name test is to yell the name as if I am yelling for my kid to come back inside from playing? I loved @Kurrant's suggestion of Layla, except trying to yell that with my Mississippi accent didn't work. I get too tongue tied and it comes out "LAY-LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" with my tongue hanging out of my mouth.

Isley was my grandmother's maiden name. She passed away last summer. Finley doesn't have particular meaning, we just like it. Elizabeth is my mom's name. Thoughts?
Looks like we're having a girl! So far we have narrowed it down to three potential names: Adilet Jaya, Esmeralda Gioia or Lorenza Justice.
We're not finalizing anything yet though, we still have around 20 weeks to think things through and decide properly. Especially because we're most likely one and done and we love all three names and want to give ourselves some time before making such a big decision, so we don't want to cross one of the names off prematurely and then regret not using it. Although we'll probably have one name picked by the time she arrives, maybe with one left for backup if the one we picked doesn't fit her at all.
And just because we like being prepared for any eventuality, we have decided our backup boy name to be Everett Giordano.

Our baby's name showed up on a prediction list of "2016 baby name trends". So disappointed. It's the first time it's show up on any sort of popularity list. I thought we were doing so well until that. Oh well, I still love it and am definitely not changing it because of a silly list that's for sure. Anybody else annoyed when they see their choice on a list like that?

Rose is a family name on DH side. We had agreed if it was a boy I got to pick mn, he gets to pick girls. I think it flows so well.
It has slowly won my heart but I truly love it. My H gave me a little more freedom to let my hippie hipster flag fly with the mn and I'm so grateful.
