@amandabobanda - that's actually a really good plan I will have to keep that in mind
Ok another confession to change the topic - I HATE with a passion leggings as pants. I can't. If I can see the outline of your crotch and exactly what color your ass is every time you bend over its a Nono. I totally judge those people and hate seeing it. There are too many scary looking leapord legs running around.
I also just bought maternity leggings and am now judging myself every day I'm not at work because I am totally in just them and a tunic, but to me it's ok if your butt and crotch are out of sight.
Just received my Old Navy maternity leggings in the mail yesterday! DH had a good laugh at the full front panel since they're regular rise in the back haha. I've never worn leggings before (I'm a jeans girl!) but these + an oversized top are going to be so perfect for fall. I only have 1 big sweater to wear with them-- where's a good spot for cute tunics?
I found a bunch cheap at Burlington coat factory. Also target usually has some! Macy's has really nice once but they are too pricey for me

This isn't a FFFC, but do you all have an Old Navy with a maternity section close by? They have a sale right now for an extra 50% off their maternity clearance. I got 3 shirts and a cute skirt for $20. Also, the baby/toddler clearance is 50% off too. I got 7 pieces for my son (4 shirts and 3 pairs of shorts for next summer) for $12, including a Mickey Mouse and Star Wars shirt that were $1.48 and $1.98.
In retrospect, I should've bought extras to give as birthday gifts.
My FFFC: I'm getting a little bit of an honest-to-goodness baby bump but it's still mostly fat and bloat. But I am totally dressing like it's all baby. It makes me chuckle to see Mom ooh and aah over pretty much the exact same belly she's been giving me crap about for years.
@natsfans84 I just got mine too!! I got the low panel because I don't really care for full panel and they are a little too big in the belly area yet so they keep falling down and my ass has been hanging out all day. But I don't really care about it. So comfy.
Also, Target had some really cute longer maternity tops for pretty cheap when I was there last. Like $10-$15 cheap.
Does Target sell maternity clothes in their stores? I've been having trouble finding maternity clothes in actual brick & mortar stores. If so, definitely stopping there on way home today. I am going away for Labor Day but all my maternity stuff is for fall
At my Target they do. It isn't a huge selection but it's something. It's the only store (other than Macy's) in my area that sells maternity clothes in the store.
I just got a bunch of great maternity stuff at H&M, too. I don't have to dress super fancy to work, but I do have to dress nice-ish, and it's been hard finding more than basics in stores that aren't expensive. H&M has some reasonably priced clothes that are suitable for work. I got a really cute and comfortable pair of faux suede leggings that I can get away with at work and will probably live in. Not all H&Ms have a maternity section though - learned that the hard way. If they have them, they are in the children's section.
My FFC: I've gone down to only washing my hair once a week for the past several weeks. I have long hair and a lot of it, and I just hate washing it. I get tired and dizzy in the shower easier right now, and I just don't want to deal with it. Once I get back to they gym and whatnot, I plan on washing it more often. Probably.

Your hair actually gets used to this and gets oily over time! I do this

Yes they do and they might even count for the 25% off women's clothing with cartwheel right now.
I'm tempted to do all my Christmas shopping now so that when I'm ridiculously pregnant I don't have to deal with it.
This sounds like an awesome idea!! I did find a few clearance things for dd at target the other day that she isn't quite old enough for now but will be perfect by then. They had a ton of doc mcstuffins dinnerware type things on super clearance!
I wear leggings as pants almost every day. No shame. My leggings are thick athletic variety, though, so to me they really aren't different than yoga pants with no flare at the bottom.
Same for the wearing legging as pants on almost a daily basis. The brand I wear aren't see through though and usually my shirts are long enough to cover everything up anyway. I love them. And they're really long so I can pull them up over the belly
FFFC: I need to cut my hair, I sit on it when it's down and it hurts my neck. I put it up in buns because I can't deal with it and frequently forgo brushing it because it takes so long, however I don't want to. I have an unhealthy attachment to my hair.

I love long hair but it's a total pain to maintain and care for!

I totally get the comfort thing - where I see the ones that really get gross is mostly creepy people at Walmart and on campus. People have legit walked around in stockings. Just because they say opaque, stockings are not see through!!
Ones like yoga pants are different for me as long as I can't see the camel!

I feel like for the most part modern women in a forum like this are pretty united against body shaming and slut-shaming so it always surprises me that so many people agree that leggings aren't pants and that "women should cover their ass" because "no one wants to see it." Uhh first of all, women should wear whatever they feel comfortable in. Second, leggings do not equal tights. Most that I've seen aren't see through. They're no different than yoga pants (which are somehow universally acceptable to wear in public whether you intend to work out or not, at least in the mom crowd) and I don't see how they're any "worse" than shorts or crop tops.
pants (noun): an outer garment covering the body from the waist to the ankles, with a separate part for each leg.
Looks like leggings fall into that description just fine.
tl;dr: Women have bodies and should dress them the way they see fit. Legging-shaming is lame and antiquated.
DD is supposed to have soccer practice but I think we are skipping. I don't feel like sitting out in the heat for an hour. I want to be lazy on this Friday night.

I love leggings and yoga pants and think both are acceptable. But, I will say- that most leggings I see are somewhat see-through in the butt area. Yoga pants tend to be thicker. If they aren't see-through, showing your butt is fine if that's your prerogative. I have a pair of Lululemons I splurged on because my butt looked amazing in them. But, the leggings I know tend to be more sheer, so that's why I say cover your butt. But, if they're not- I couldn't care less.

@AdventureMama I totally get that me being judgy of it is flame worthy I don't deny that at all hence the confession!
Body shaming is too common, I would never say something to someone about it - but again I don't deny its bad I dislike it so much.
To me it's not about how your body looks in it necessarily it's about being able to see the outline of everything you have to offer in your crotch and butt- I find it gross because I don't go out thinking I want to see someone's camel toe today!
That being said I also am the person who covers up- I don't own any crop tops or short shorts because I don't like exposing myself. I love my figure I just don't find any interest in showing it off, some people like to and some just are more comfy! For me it's not

I agree to an extent, but I think context and setting should be taken into consideration. A former coworker used to wear leggings to work at least once a week that were in fact see-through, so much so that I (and everyone else) could see her thong. It was not appropriate for work. I wear leggings to work as well, but they are solid and you cannot see through them. I don't really care if women wear tops that cover their butts and lady bits over their leggings or not; leggings don't look that different from skinny jeans or jeggings and plenty of women (and men!) rock those without long tops all the time.
First of all @DaisyTortilla you almost made my latte come out my nose with your penguin suit. That. Is. Awesome.
My FFC, since we're on pants, is that I have worn the same pair of pants every single day this week without washing them. They are the one pair of black maternity slacks that fits well right now and I just don't care.
I do lint roll them every morning in the parking lot of work with a roller I keep in my car because of my dogs.
I loved "le penguin suit", but I felt self conscious after he said that, so I would run and change when he got home. Lol
finally got my FFFC: it annoys the crap out of me when people make a social media account (FB, Instagram etc) for their dog then manage the account as if the dog is typing their own posts. i don't know why, but it just irritates me so much.
My confession isn't food-related: I have a totally ridiculous and irrational fear that every time I poop I will accidentally push the baby out.
:-S
me too! Kinda...
I've been so constipated (sorry for the tmi) that i get so worried that all the pushing will hurt the baby somehow. I know it's not rational, but I still worry.

I used to calorie count religiously, but stopped for my sanity while pregnant.
Confession: I bought new bras last night and they are so dowdy looking, but I don't care! So comfy. Suddenly, underwires are really irritating to me, so it needed to happen. Kinda want to get some big old comfy granny panties to match!
Where did you find your bras may I ask? I've been looking for comfy maternity bras

I have a hard time coming up with an occasion where it's appropriate to see someone's underwear through their pants. And I agree that most leggings are much more see-through than most yoga pants. I know there are exceptions, but I don't want to see anybody's thong. Not at work, not at the park, not at the grocery store. I personally don't think that is shaming to anybody's body. Wouldn't want to see it on a kid, a man, an elderly person - I don't discriminate. I just don't want to see that.
My Confession: my DD, when she is with me, doesn't get candy or sugary things very often because I'm a type 1 diabetic and my DD is borderline. She is on a pediatric diabetic diet and we do high protein low carb usually. With that said, I don't understand parents that only give their children carbs for breakfast.

Well my point is all dependent on leggings that are thick enough to not be see through, which is almost all I see. I live in the PNW and tons of ladies wear leggings on public, and I honestly can't think of even one time that I've seen underwear. Maybe I'm not looking closely enough.
And of course there are appropriate clothes to wear to work and other places. I'm certainly not saying people should wear sheer pants and crop tops in an office. But the general statement I was responding to wasn't, "Leggings are unprofessional.", it was "Leggings aren't pants and shouldn't be worn in public." Two very different things.

I'm a diabetic so if I don't take care of myself I can die. My DD has had higher than normal blood sugars every once in a while and she is at higher risk for becoming a type 1 diabetic but we have a family history of type 2. It's better to do it and it be natural to you than to freak out when you are diagnosed.

I think it's quite a leap to say that just because people don't want to look at camel toe and butt crack they are "body shaming and slut shaming". I simply don't get the appeal of dressing just this side of naked when you're at work, school, or elsewhere in public. But perhaps my opinion is also colored by the fact that I don't get the fashion aspect of it. They're not my style, and I actually find them uncomfortable after awhile if I'm wearing them around the house, say, after a yoga class. My skin needs to breathe!

I definitely see where you're coming from! I guess my biggest irritation is I don't think it's appropriate for each crevice to be highlighted, and oftentimes it's accompanied with a level of sheerness that just isn't flattering.
To each their own, though
FWIW, I'm not much of a fan of wearing yoga pants out & about, unless I'm actually going to a yoga class (which doesn't happen. I do yoga at home, in my living room lol).

Being diabetic isn't as hard as you make it seem. My mom and sister both have it, my grandparents on both sides, I had to live that lifestyle my last pregnancy,My SIL and cousin is super diabetic, both requiring pumps and since having the pump it's not as bad, so I have some insight. You need to reevaluate your care because it's not doing you any favors.

Agreed. I guess I just see more see-through leggings than not. Men that live in my area wear tight pants and skinny jeans all the time, and I can see their goodies (even though I'd rather not). I don't think they catch anywhere the amount of flack that women do for wearing the same.

Agreed. I guess I just see more see-through leggings than not. Men that live in my area wear tight pants and skinny jeans all the time, and I can see their goodies (even though I'd rather not). I don't think they catch anywhere the amount of flack that women do for wearing the same.
Honestly if I could see a mans junk I'd have the same issue with it, but I dont think people care as much about what men wear for whatever reason. Where I am leggings are also mostly see through, I have only seen a couple that are not on people.

I found a bunch cheap at Burlington coat factory. Also target usually has some! Macy's has really nice once but they are too pricey for me
They have a sale right now for an extra 50% off their maternity clearance.
Yes they do and they might even count for the 25% off women's clothing with cartwheel right now. This sounds like an awesome idea!! I did find a few clearance things for dd at target the other day that she isn't quite old enough for now but will be perfect by then. They had a ton of doc mcstuffins dinnerware type things on super clearance!

I totally get the comfort thing - where I see the ones that really get gross is mostly creepy people at Walmart and on campus. People have legit walked around in stockings. Just because they say opaque, stockings are not see through!!
Ones like yoga pants are different for me as long as I can't see the camel!
pants (noun): an outer garment covering the body from the waist to the ankles, with a separate part for each leg.
Looks like leggings fall into that description just fine.
tl;dr: Women have bodies and should dress them the way they see fit. Legging-shaming is lame and antiquated.
For me it's not
I loved "le penguin suit", but I felt self conscious after he said that, so I would run and change when he got home. Lol

This 100% especially since you said you have unmanaged diabetes which can cause the pseudo-cushings you also have.

ETA: Judging other women publicly (aka on a public forum) for wearing something YOU think is too revealing or uncomfortable is shaming.
