  • Sooooo I have to retake the 3 hour glucose tolerance test. Apparently the lab forgot to store my blood properly and it's no good. I am devastated! My dr's office I guess made the lab call me and the guy was super apologetic so I am not even mad - I just kind of have to laugh or I will definitely cry.

cmerribury my office does not have their own lab and it took about 5 business days for me to hear back about my one hour.

ETA - No, I am definitely mad.

Oh no @flowerpower5838! Big hugs. I can't imagine going through that a second time

  • Thanks ladies. It's almost funny -  I mentioned to DH that I wonder when it's even going to be tested since I know they don't do it internally and it wasn't finished and ready to go until noon on NYE. Oh well.

@skruhmin No other option was presented to me and I didn't realize self-monitoring was one! Thank you for that little tidbit. I don't even know by how much I failed the 1-hour test. I might call back and do some question-asking to see if it's really necessary for me to do this test again.

I tend to eat my dinner and still snack on cereal in a cup, pb & jelly sandwiches, fruit, sunflower seeds. I just can't stop grazing.

  • @flowerpower5838 you deserve a nice big juicy steak.

Anyone want two dachshunds? I'm going to let them run away if they keep being so damn annoying. Jk obviously.

Since DH is out of town I'm going to stay at my parents for an unknown period of time. This could be good or bad there's no telling.
  • Well I didn't get to see my dr today...I see him next week. But i did mention. It to the nurse that baby was barely moving yesterday which freaked me out but he is back to his normal kicking self lol. She just said to try to count the movements and if i panic feel free to call her and she can arrange for me to go to l&d for a check.

  • @flowerpower5838 I'm so sorry you have to do the 3 hour again I would call your doctor and make sure you failed by a significant margin on the one hour before redoing the 3 hour but the 3 hour was horrible for me.
  • I tried to fix and update my siggy... and it all went to hell... FML

  • Can I just ask......cuz there have honestly been days when I haven't checked in and catching up is SO HARD! So I miss stuff here and there.
Please please tell me no one has gone into labor yet!
Honestly, I tried to search for it, but TB search function just refuses to keep my search limited to March 2016 only.
Flame me for asking if there's some sort of bad juju for bringing it up. I didn't read the rule book. My bad!

  • @flowerpower5838! I think my eyes popped out of my head when I read you have to REtake the 3 hour. It makes me feel like I need to murder someone just thinking about going through those three hours of hell again. De we need to send out a man hunt to find the guilty person who didn't put your blood away correctly??
  • I love my dh but he is pushing some serious buttons tonight. We haven't been home steadily because of holidays so there is so much to catch up on housework wise. Tonight while I was making dinner I asked him to clear the table. Which apparently to him means pile all of the stuff on one end so we can eat around it. Then when we were eating I asked if he would mind emptying and filling the dishwasher while I got Ds in the bath and ready to bed (he said he would). But instead he watched obamas speech. I tried one more time and asked if he would do the dishwasher while I put Ds to bed and I came out 20 minutes later to find him asleep on the couch. Then he acted all affronted (he makes work calls in the evenings), because he can't possibly do it now because he has work to do. Ugh seriously!!! Now instead Of starting my cleaning with a cleared table and dishes off the counters I have to do it myself or clean around it. I am a major grump tonight.
  • DH was so sweet and bought my a new (cheapo) laptop for Christmas.  I was so excited, but it is the suckiest computer ever.  Lags constantly, kicks me off the internet and pretends like something's wrong with the router, jumps pages, moves things around before I can start typing, lags when I try to type, and just about 8 million other stupid things that are driving me insane.

I think if nothing else, the tension it is causing me might send me over the edge.
  • He meant well.

  • Guys...I want to cry but my tear ducts arent working... *NCIS SPOILERS!!*

just read online that Michael Weatherly is leaving the show!! He is the reason I fell in love with the name Anthony and chose that name for my son. I'm not one of those creepy fans, but his character just really made me love Anthony because he's fun-loving, intelligent, silly, yet sensitive and mature all at once. I realize I may sound like a creepy fan, I swear I'm not, but this seriously makes me want to cry...

I have a growth ultrasound tomorrow and I have this completely ridiculous fear they're going to say something is wrong and we need to pop over and deliver baby. It's probably because DH is in another state but I'm completely stressed out about it. Stupid, I know but it's just chilling in the back of my mind.
  • @SarahFoley725 **hugs** I understand that worry. DH is spending the night at a sleep center tomorrow (more thyroid and sleep apnea testing). I've never cared about spending the night alone but now I'm terrified that he won't be home and something is going to happen. Mind you, I practically shoved him out the door on his way back to work just this Monday!!

I was so ready to get him out of my hair too haha but now It's like well he isn't a few miles down the road in his office. He's in the field in another state soooo. I'm sure everything will be fine. He has spent the majority of my pregnancy away but I guess with d day on the horizon it's a little scarier now!

I have a growth ultrasound today too! Fingers crossed for happy health MARCH babies that stay inside our uteri. I hear your panic, DH is trying to plan a snowmobile trip out to the mountains before I deliver. I keep telling him it needs to be soon, because he'd feel real bad missing the birth of his child.

  • @SarahFoley725 and @JessKo08 ; good luck today ladies! I had one two weeks ago and although the midwive said not to worry (never tell a pregnant woman not to worry when you first tell looks like baby is measuring small) i worried. At the ultrasound the lady told me that at 9 out 10 us done because maybe baby is small, they're just average or even above (like mine). Hope that you can relax a little bit more now. Although I do understand not having your DH around makes it even harder...

@kitteh81 I swear it just has to be a lemon or something.  My 16 year old laptop that runs on Windows 2000 doesn't have these issues.  The cool thing is the computer has a touch screen.  The crappy thing is I have a toddler who likes to touch the screen and usually sends my emails for me or inconvenient things like that...  It's a Dell so who knows.  @SarahFoley725They have chromebooks for our students at school, so I've used one of those before and liked it.  It's probably a *smidge more expensive than the one I received (which is what I wanted - just something super cheap that I could use for rescue, etc).

Hugs to the ladies with growth scans coming up.  I'm sure all will go great and your doctors will have good news for you!

PS I'm in love with all the new siggies.  Every time a new one pops up, I laugh so hard DH looks at me funny.

  • I have to vent, I'll provide the short story. We were supposed to close on our 2nd house (rental property) the 8th. Our buyer backed out this week, AFTER an inspection that requires us to make a 6k upgrade (we were willing to pay) on the home regardless if we sold it. So we were freaking out for two days. Our attorney sent them a breach of contract notice stating our intentions to sue (laughable, we don't have $ for that) and now the buyer is all the sudden back if we can meet his schedule, which we can. I can't take the drama!!! I really want this house (and second mortgage) gone before baby comes-it's been like 4 years.

And working sucks. My cubicle job is low stress but just sitting there and attempting to keep busy is getting old already. My team got a new boss and I think the new guy is like afraid to overwhelm me and knows I'm taking a lot of time off soon (that's okay I'll bump all day). Ten more weeks!?! We have a temp person coming to start training the end of this month to fill in and I don't even want to deal with it. Anyone else have work complaints?

Not really any complaints but my co-workers are getting kind of annoying.  Like when ambulances come in, they are always like "oh Jess we don't want you to have to lift", "don't take the drunks- what if they get combative", "just sit and rest I'll take this patient".  I love, love, love, my co-workers don't get me wrong.  But damnit, I'm not handicapped, just knocked up.  I'm perfectly capable of doing my job and would like to keep up physically; especially since I'm feeling pretty good.

  • Totally AWing my pic from my appt yesterday here, bc my cute kiddos all looked at the camera at the same time
So my SPD had started to flare up some before the wreck, but ever since the wreck it's exponentially worse. Like as bad as it was when I went on crutches with #2. I'm having a reeeeally hard time walking and getting up and my pelvis keeps popping - I can feel it out of place, and chiro has not helped. Super frustrating. Dr suggested I order a pelvic stabilization brace. Sigh. I was just so excited earlier when I was still getting around so well much further than I had in previous pregnancies, and then this crap happens and all of the sudden I can't do shit. And our uninsured motorist coverage won't pay for a rental. So that's a bummer. Grateful for my inlaws' lending their van, even though it's not ideal.
Thanks for listening to me whine, guys. I'll gladly try any suggestions!

I would gladly pass on taking the drunks! When I was pregnant with DD and working on the ambulance, I took every opportunity to pass on any lifting (I still took the drunk and psych calls though). In our system fire responds to every call with us so I always had 5 guys around me. They would practically push me out of the way to lift a patient lol.

I was the same in surgery when I was pregnant with my first. I had no desire to lift any patient. It was miserable enough to wear the full coverage lead maternity gear (for c-arm/X-ray) and all the gown/gloves/cap/mask/boots and sooooo hot.
