Agree with pp. They are irregular and that is not how you spell Cassidy phonetically. I would consider changing part of the name irregular if you are really set on having a unique spelling but each chunk spelled irregular is pretty nuts. Sorry I have a pretty strong opinion about irregular spelling of names and this is a public forum. I think it would be better to have a unique name with a regular spelling than the opposite.  At least with Tiger you know how to say it.  It is a pretty big problem when no one knows how to spell or read the name, but it sounds like you are pretty set on your spellings.

Tiger is not pronounced like the animal. It's a soft g.
Okay. OP is totally messing with everyone.

Based on the original post and the first few responses, it's a joke making fun of people who ask for name opinions, baby showers, gender reveals, and people getting upset over others opinions.

    Because, we're adults. Obviously.

I hope it's a joke. And if it is, so what? Even adults have gotta have some fun in life! :D

My sons' names are not super common but have a common spelling. My daughter's name is Zoe. Even though I spelled it in it's original form I still have to spell it for people all the time. And people even mispronounce it too. So I figured why not put a spin on a more traditional name? People obviously can't pronounce the traditional ones either. And saying that a kid won't get a job or isn't going to be smart because of their name is ludicrous. I think an original name or name spelling gives a person a higher self esteem. My sister named her son Tiger. He thinks it's the coolest name ever, even though everyone gave my sister grief about it. So just because YOU don't like a name or how it's spelled doesn't mean my child won't grow up to absolutely love it.

Actually it's not ludicrous, it's scientific fact. There have been many many studies on this matter. It's not brag the kid won't be smart, but he/she will face a disadvantage when looking for a job.

The whole thread was a joke. Except for her nephew being named Tiger.

Just read, thanks. I just stopped in the middle of it all when I read this comment and had to answer before finishing the whole thread

  • Oh. My. God. I assumed this was a long running joke. I hope this child, whatever name OP chooses, wasn't hoping to be on the Supreme Court or be a CEO or go to college. Maybe he/she and cousin Tiger can start a business together to avoid the problem of ever being taken seriously by employers and educators? During lunch they can have support group meetings for people with ridiculous parents.

Seriously, these names make Zapp from the baby name board sound almost normal.
