I'm a former coach whore- I have a lot of bags I don't use anymore because they aren't my style anymore and were getting uglier and uglier. The solid leather ones I still use though

After High School = the real world no one cares if your feelings are hurt
Nope, I disagree. Especially with your high school label. There are definite bullies in high school. Definitely more than elementary school. Little kids are mostly nice and want to be liked and please adults. For the most part anyway. There is a lot of work and activities in elementary schools that address bullying. High school is when it get real.
I'm not saying that bullying doesn't exist in elementary school because it definitely does. But to say that what happens in high school isn't bullying is wrong. Bullying is very serious. It has very serious psychological effects on the victims which is why it is so awful to cry "bully" when someone does t agree with you.
After high school, just because "no one cares if your feelings are hurt" doesn't give you the right to be an asshole. Yes, some have thicker skin but there are still some cases of bullying. You can't invalidate it.
And just to add, there is no bullying going on in this community. Nothing that has happened or that has been said should be considered bullying.
I completely agree^^ middle school and high school is when bullying does the most damage. I was a middle and high school teacher and I was witness to several bullying situations that to be handled by the school. Someone disagreeing with you is not bullying and throwing the word around takes away from how serious it can be
I didnt say it doesnt happen in or after high school nor was i invalidating "bullying". I personally dont call people bullies after a certain age.
Thats all my post was saying. Sorry i didnt make that clear.
Yes it happens and unfortunately it will continue to happen, but when I hear adults in my office say their boss bullied them i roll my eyes. Throwing the word "bully" around has become beyond ridiculous in my opinion.
I dont see bullying going in this community either. Its sad when people get really upset when others disagree with them. Thats a diffrence in opinions not bullying
@dksport03 but then to say that bullies don't exist in high school is completely wrong. Just because you don't personally call them that, doesn't mean it doesn't exist in high school and college/university. Bullies are a lot more than plain old assholes.
Bullies are a real thing even into adulthood. I agree that "Bully" is not the adjective to throw around if someone is mean or does something trivial because it diminishes the seriousness. But to say it doesn't exist or call it something different because we are adults doesn't work either.

Im sorry but where did I say bullying doesnt exsist?
Yes it does need to be called something different because we're adults and should have vast vocabularies to properly describe a situation. Im curious why you care whether I use the word bully or not?
I completely agree calling someone a bully when it doesnt fit does diminish the serious thats why i choose not to use it, plenty of words to properly describe a situation better then im being bullied.
Background on coworker situation:
Coworker asked for clarity on an assignment, clarity was given. She didnt like this info because she already did the assignment and did it wrong now all of a sudden in her words shes being bullied because she has to start over. Come on get real thats not bullying and you and i both know it.
"The real world where no one cares if your feelings get hurt" would indicate that you think bullying is not relevant in adulthood. In your view it seems you think it's confined to childhood and therefore the word bully is childish.
Why use another word for bully when that one works.. I'm not sure what other word you would use do you have a suggestion?
What happened to your co-worker is obviously not bullying

Unfortunately deep down few people care if they hurt your feelings or not. I personally don't care for a lot of peoples opinions but I'll hear you out but i also wont hurt your feelings because i dont agree with you. But that's just me.
In my eyes bullying is extremely childish and theres no excuse for it no matter how old you are 5, 37, 68. No, the word "bully" does not work in every situation.
One word cannot even begin to define how people have treated my LO for being Autistic. I can go into more detail but why?
People that choose to humiliate other people for their own sick and twisted pleasure are disgusting vile creatures. The word "bully" is lost to some many around us because it is soooooo miss used.
So again i will continue to stay away from that word because it diminishes the cruelty that people are faced with day in and day out.
So you have no suggestion of what to call it... I really don't care what if you use the word or not. It was your stance that bully is not the right word to use when there really is nothing else to call it.
You said yourself that It's the misuse of the word bully that takes away from how serious it is.
I'm sorry your LO is made fun of and bullied by others that's not okay. I hope it gets better for them.
I dealt with some rough bullying in middle school (shoved into walls/lockers, hate notes suggesting I commit suicide, etc) Today I'm a believer in the 20/60/20 rule. If you walk into a room, 20% of people will love you (thru already knowing you, by becoming friends, etc). 60% of the people there are completely neutral to your existence. They aren't concerned about your feelings. 20% will dislike you for whatever reason. The problem is people either expect 100% of people to be in the caring/loving column, or they will spend WAY too much time/effort trying to win over the 80% who just don't really care/don't like you. Cultivate the top 20% good relationships. And don't confuse the 60% who are neutral with the 20% who don't like you. Thats just how I've personally dealt with a-holes/bullies/whatever you want to call them as an adult
Re: UO Thursday
@KaraEpp16 those are nice, I thought they only made ugly C bags
And I think the tacky C bags are bought by people who want you to know they spent a lot of money on their twatty accessory.
But I do agree, most are fug.

The way i see "bully"

I'm totally up for silencing those posts. I've been around since it was The Nest Baby and it's so damn tame now.
