  • Well I've been noticing some food opinions that I don't agree with on here, so they must be unpopular.

Lately I've been seeing a crap ton of bicyclists and even two ladies jogging in the middle of the road! I understand if there isn't a sidewalk, then by all means go ahead but last week I came across so many people ignoring the sidewalk and were so far into the road people had to swerve around them. That is how you hurt someone - not everyone pays attention!!

TL;DR: Ugh bicyclists and walkers/runners using the road instead of the perfectly good sidewalk!

  • Man, I'm a west coaster too and I miss everything lol. Ketshup is awesome, and esp mixed with mayo!

My UO: I've seen a few posts on smoking and pregnancy and I just don't see how you can't quit or at least ask you ob what to do to quit soon. Maybe I'm a hypocrite because I think a few glasses of wine here or there in later trimesters is fine, but I secretly side eye the smoking.

I moved from NY to OR and here bicycles are "vehicles" so they have to use the road. Which freaked me right the hell out, when I first started driving here.

  • Can someone please point me in the direction of the special snowflake post? I miss everything while getting my required 16 hours of sleep. :((

    It was called Beware Zofran.
Eta its back one page right now.
  • Thank you! I was looking for the Belly ring one, found that too...I was spelling "Belly" wrong because apparently words are hard this morning.
  • I don't like people... I like their dogs... But not them...
  • @Lljbean Portland makes all the condiments.

I guess if that were the case I'd be more used to it. I live in ND so you don't see many bicycles. I do see the random few in the winter time too and then I completely understand using the road - homeowners here aren't great at keeping sidewalks clear of snow and ice. Maybe it was the joggers that pushed me over the edge :)

  • FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! WHY CANT I SPEAK TO A HUMAN WHEN I CALL THE ELECTRIC COMPANY?!?

I am pretty confident that isn't an unpopular opinion, but i just spent 20 minutes on the phone just trying to speak with a living, breathing person and it makes me angry

Try the edd. Hours, I tell you, HOURS!! Just to talk to someone who won't help and you've gotta call back a week later and a week after that and eventually get someone who says, "oh yes I just fixed that for you" two seconds after you told them your problem and you just want to scream "why, for the love of God, WHY MUST YOU TORTURE ME!!!!"

Sorry for the run on but that problem caused me to pay my rent almost a month late!! 2 and a half years ago but still traumatized...Seriously hoping I don't go through that mess this time around

My uo is parents who don't watch or properly discipline their kids. Yesterday we went to a little birthday thing for dd's cousin, and dd snatched a little girls balloon right out of her hand and I nicely told her she can't do that, it's not nice. She cried so much (usually she's so good so not used to being scolded). Later same little girl is snatching things out of other kids hands and parents don't even pay attention. Aaaah!!

To each their own @aphilli8 that's why it's a UO. I'm not an extremist by any means- I don't buckle in my purse, my kids have hard plastic cups while we travel, there are plenty of "projectiles" in my car, etc. my 3 yr old is ff *gasp* my 2 yr old is rf...I'm talking people who think it's okay at 8 months to flip their kid ff. people just don't do enough research on the subject IMO. My oldest is 7 and I flipped him at 1 because I didn't do the research and I'm lucky nothing happened to him. Glad laws are starting to change state by state to rf until at least 2. With anything, do what works for your family. I've said before on here, I'd rather say something and nothing happen, than to have something happen to someone who had no clue. Take it or leave it ;)
  • @paigeyferd I also loathe monograms on children. And over sized headbands with bows and/or giant flowers on baby girls. And people who feel the need to have special themed clothes made for their children each holiday that say the child's name on the shirt (ex: a shirt with an embroidered turkey with the child's name under it at Thanksgiving). It's wasteful and stupid! No. Just No.

@StephPegasus Harry Potter is my HEART!

  • With all this mayo hate, I gotta say that I like mayo and ketchup mixed together... Although I don't like ketchup on its own.

Yes! So good with fries! Also I love mixing Franks red hot in my Ketchup! I literally put that s#!t on everything!

  • Ketchup is the best.
Mustard is delicious, especially the one in the barrel bottle.
Mayo only belongs in egg/potato/macaroni salad and on only turkey or BLTs.
Franks is great, but too much of it these days makes me sick the next day.
Ranch dressing is completely gross and the seasoning packets are good in only a few recipes.

This has been your condiments education hour.
  • UO:

I HATE the sun! I've always preferred a nice gloomy overcast day, but for the past year I've lived in this apartment which anyone else would love, but we've got 20x20 foot windows overlooking the river and I HATE them! I hate that it's always so bright and that I can't sleep past sunrise and that I'm blinded everywhere I go in my apartment.

  • We flipped our son FF when he was just under 2. He's huge though. He's the size of a 4yo at 2.5.

I love sushi. Although the stuff I eat is often fried and slathered in sauces, so it barely counts.

Anti-wine-during-pregnancy people annoy me. There's no credible research showing that 1-2 glasses per week hurts anything (emphasis on credible). Comparing it to smoking (which friends have done) is ludicrous. There are zero studies that show any benefit to smoking. Cigarettes don't have antioxidants and are full of nasty carcinogens. Wine in moderation has health benefits.

I had a similar situation the other day... Some kid stole my 1.5yr olds balloon and purposely let it go so it was stuck on the ceiling. She didn't understand, being 1.5, that I couldn't go up there and get it back (it was in a gymnasium, no way to reach it) so she was crying and reaching for it for the next ten minutes, no matter how hard I tried to distract her. She was so excited when she got the balloon and it wasn't two minutes later this jackass took it. And where was the kids mother? Not even there. He was at the gym with his 14 yr old brother. Then the kid climbed behind me as I'm tryin to calm DD and starts messing with my hair, and taking out my ponytail. Really?! Boundaries!!! WTF
  • I'm down- but there's still so many who will answer anyway and people who will keep posting random multiple threads. I feel like most of the multiple threads are people who post once and are gone
  • I think the boys' performance was way better than the girls' at the end of Pitch Perfect.
    There I said it.

Dh and I liked the German group. We were like wtf why did the girls win?? That was so boring!!

  • @babybluu Noooo! Winter sucks for those of us in the snow belt! Although I dislike summer, too, despite my name. But you can have a cocktail on the patio in summer, fresh garden produce, and no crazy commutes.

That said, fall is where it's at.

Ok that's true. So I am from Florida, so now snow there, and now the PNW and still no snow lol. So maybe that's why I like winter. But I do miss snow! I love it! Just maybe not 52472047292748 feet of it.
