Wow. That is so great that so many of you have started a nursery! I've been really frustrated about this...My husband seems to think staying in our tiny one bedroom is a grand idea. There may be just enough room to put a mini crib in our room and that's about it. Trying to convince him how much happier we will be if we have a little more space but he thinks I'm crazy and wants to wait a couple years to move. I'm a little sad about it because I was really looking forward to making a nursery. Hoping he will change his mind soon since our lease is up in two months. Meanwhile, I have been spending a ton of time on Pinterest researching small spaces and babies! Any tips are greatly appreciated.

Do you know if someone is throwing you a baby shower? Maybe once he sees all the baby crap you have to cram into your apartment, he'll sing a different tune. We moved into a bigger place as soon as we started TTC.
If he doesn't budge, though, I've seen a ton of cute ways to fit a baby into a little home. You'll manage!
Alright, ladies! I've finished some more of the nursery. Here's what it looks like now! I made the quotes out of frames, card stock, calligraphy stencils, and gel pens from Michaels. Since our families live so far away, my husband and I decided to put up some photos of our families so baby can get to know their faces. The stuffed animals on the shelf are my husband's and mine from when we were babies. I made some hot air balloons out of paper lanterns and mini-baskets to be hung in the corner of the room. More to come!
Went to order our furniture and it's on backorder for 3 weeks. Hopefully, I will be able to order it and it will come in quickly! Waiting on a piece of my crib bedding to come in to finalize our wall color!
Well we really got started yesterday. This is step 1, now we need to paint. I'm so proud of this wall. Haha
We are painting today too. Can't wait to see it. it was like pulling teeth to get my DH to do a couple stripes, pretty sure he would have killed me if I suggested this hahah, I'm sure it will look cool once done.

I can't wait to see it!! I wanted to do that so bad. Problems of renting..
That's the problem we have!! We really wanted to paint one wall in our room but when we signed the agreement they told us any paint color has to be approved before we can paint.. That sounds like a lot of work for one wall!!! I'll just keep it off white lol
Okay ladies, I can't decide which theme I like better for my little girl. I like the bears but worry that it's too neutral or boyish. I'm not a huge fan of pink, but I do like the animals on the jungle one. Any opinions?
@JamieA322 where are these from? I've never seen them before? Still trying to figure out mine too
Wow, I feel like quite the loser after looking at this post. The most I have done for the nursery is pinned some ideas on Pinterest. lol. I didn't even purchase any baby related things except for a couple of clothes and a box of diapers.
The start of our Star Wars nursery those letters took me f*cking forever ha fiance decided to put the crib together in our living room instead of in the baby's room.. After about an hour and a half of work, we ended up having to take a piece off to fit it down the hall way anndd another to get it through the baby's door - insert fiance's super pouty face here lol one of us got a good laugh out of it

My DH would be so jealous of your theme haha. I told him that if we ever have another boy we can discuss a star wars themed nursery.

I'm a little biased but I think you should! My fiance was smiling ear to ear like a little kid when he came in and saw the wall I finished. He told me if our little one didn't appreciate it, that he certainly would haha We couldn't nail down a theme for the nursery to save our lives and when I saw how excited he got about the idea of a Star Wars nursery, I couldn't help but say yes lol
Attempting the picture a third time since I'm trying to post a reply anyway...
We painted the walls and trim and replaced the closet door so far. I can't wait to get our furniture in!! Edit: ....and the picture I posted is now MIA. Ugh
We finally cleared the last of the boxes from our move in May out of the nursery this week! Putting down the area rug and arranging furniture tonight. Then on to decorating! I'm starting to get excited about this part. Will post pics once the decorations are up.
I wish I could work on the nursery but we are in housing limbo right now. Have no idea where we will be living when baby boy is here.
I did however buy some wood letters so I can't paint them today and some canvas to do some ABC'S and 123 paintings. We're going with a Seahawks thing which my husband is so excited about. Haha.
Olivia Mae's room is pretty much ready to go. When we were supposed to have twins, we were going to do yellow and gray, but when we lost our little boy, I wanted to do something really cheerful and bright - hence the coral color. My husband worked really hard putting up the moldings and painting. I picked the fabrics out and my mom made the curtains and blanket.
We are still waiting on the crib and glider. But here's the dresser that will have the changing pad on it and then we kept the spare bed in her room for us to use if need be.

We did an explorer themed room and every time my mom sees it she tells me it doesn't have enough color and is awful. I love it and don't really care how other people feel about it, but wish she would get on board... Yes, it's brown, and brown will work for pirates or star wars, or jungle, or cars, or cowboys, or any number of little boy things as he grows.
It's mostly shades of brown with red and blue accents.
I added a hyperlink because my photos disappeared.
I've never really been traditional, and definitely not into everything pastel and plastic and baby. Yes, our kid will get older and he will choose things i won't love, but when it comes to that first year where he gives zero cares, i get to pick SO
may i present our:
Explorer-Themed Nursery

My mom tells me every time she sees it that I'm mean and that babies need more color in their lives and basically that she hates it. I love it, but I wish people wouldn't say they hate it.
Walls
I knew i wanted brown whether it was a boy or girl and the nursery got painted early. Then the decals- it would have beencherry blossomsfor a girl, but i went withjungle vinesfor our little man. (here's a similar one i also like)
We replaced the light fixture with something that's way cooler, but was also smaller than the old light fixture, which meant there was a ring on the ceiling with the inner paint as white and the outer paint as off white. Rather than paint the whole ceiling, i opted for a compass rose decal that disguises the rings, matches real-world cardinal directions, and just looks very cool.
When we emptied the room, we had taken out a roman-looking shield i had randomly bought during a halloween sale a year ago and never found a home for. When the room was painted, I stared at one wall and said "something goes here". My husband immediately returned the shield to the space and it was perfect.
There is an extra door in this room that leads to our kitchen, and that door has a window. Rather than replace the door (which is also stained to match the woodwork), i added a stained glass film reminiscent of a castle or ship in a fishscale pattern. At this point, i was definitely leaning a bit pirate, and you'll see lots of nautical inspiration. Theframedseahorse printandglass fishing orbsreally add something
You'll remember that i cast our gender reveal/baby announcement into a resin paperweight. I later decided to frame and hang it. Thisframewasn't quite a perfect fit for a 3" paperweight, so i used a dremel to widen the opening and some clear glue to keep the paperweight mounted. The back still opens to reveal our "It's a Boy! Coming October 1st, 2015..." message. The birds were extra perfect with the egg/nest
One of the first wall decorations was this Skyrim (videogame) map. Again, this was something that was laying around the guest room because i liked it and never found a home for it that was converted as perfect. I ironed it flat, burned the edges and glued it to asafety glass framefor a floaty effect.
Little Touches
These aren't necessarily "wall" decorations, but they're decorative touches
Thisarmillarywas a great mantle piece, thetiny telescopewas a gift from Grandma and pappy, and the pelican was a gift for the mobile that just didn't quite go
I decided i wanted a coolpirate shipfor the mantle and found this one affordable. The bamboo had been living elsewhere in the house and looks great here. The shark (which i LOVE) was a gift for the mobile that ran just a tad too large. It looks great terrorizing the ship here on the mantle
I got thisoctopus printfor myself a very long time ago, i just love how gleefully happy he is to find a sunken ship and it's just the right amount of adorable for a baby room. Those socks were snuck into my purse by mother in law about 4-5 years ago on vacation.
Furniture
There had already been a guest bed (my bed from my medieval theme room in high school actually) and we decided to leave it. We did add a crib, and though it converts, we'll probably upgrade him to the real bed, rather than super convert the crib. I had chosen the blue and gold brocades for the guest bed in years prior, and had the red brocade baby bedding picked out for YEARS
I chose this bedding years ago, with every intention of it being for a little girl (in her brown and red room with cherry blossoms). I was so in love with it, and so upset that it might be "too girly" for a boys room. That is when my husband said "who says? who says it's girly?" and I kept the bedding i loved. The curtain matches.
My dad built me this desk/wall unit in middle school and my sister and i originally used it as a dresser. I padded the desk as a changing table, with diapers and swaddling blankets on the shelves above. Bottles supplies are currently left and right. From there down, there are baskets on every shelf for clothes and two large baskets below the changing table full of books. An owl piggy bank i love has a home here as well and the mantle is perfect for decorations.
I really wanted a place for toys, especially since they'll undoubtedly clash with the decor. An "authentic" lookingtreasure chestwas the perfect solution. This reinforced chest is designed to hold over 100lbs on top (and i have stood on it) and we're adding some bumpers to keep the lids from pinching tiny fingers
The Mobile
I love how this is coming along. It currently has 6 glass sea creatures dangling from aships wheelanchored to the ceiling with abrass hookin front of the window (where light can make it sparkle). I have 6 more animals coming and would not be surprised to receive others. It has a whale from "Aunt" Wendy, a hermit crab from Aunt Lori, apufferfishfrom Sandy, a seahorse from Pappy, anOctopusfrom me, and a dolphin from our babymoon (it was a gift in our room). It also has an angelfish for good measure. I will be adding: a jellyfish, sanddollar, starfish, seashell, sea turtle, and snail, as well as seaglass from Grandma Corder and some doubloons too.
A new thread was started and the pics seem to be posting on it.
If there's something strange underneath the hood. Who you gonna call? Your Doctor. If there's something weird and it don't look good. Who you gonna call? Your Doctor. Immediately. If it's new, painful, and possibly pregnancy related get your ass off the internet and call your doctor. It's for your health and your child's.
