Owen Theodore was born early yesterday morning, weighed 7 lb 3 oz. he was almost 4 weeks early so is in the NICU to monitor his breathing and blood sugar levels and to treat for jaundice. Other than that, he's perfect!
We officially joined team blue as well - Ezekiel Daniel was born on October 2nd at 10:07pm! He weighs 6lbs14oz and was a good 20 inches long. After being admitted to the hospital at 10am with contractions around 3 mins apart and being 5cm dialated, we deviated from our unmediated birth plan and got an epidural around 1pm. It was a great decision because around 9:30pm after over an hour of pushing, it was determined that he was presenting brow/face up. This was causing his heart rate to drop drastically and it wasn't coming back up so he was delivered via emergency c-section. It was a scary time but we stayed calm and just wanted baby to be here and safe! He is perfect and strong, even though his rough journey through the pelvis bruised up his head quite a bit.
Layla Shae was born October 2, 2015 at 8:38am at 38 weeks 3 days. She was a teeny 4lbs 12 oz and 18 inches.
I went into labor after getting my cervix checked the day before. I was 4 cm when I got to the hospital and was monitored for 4 hours to make sure it was true labor. When they checked again I was a 5 and got admitted.
They gave me the epidural right away but had some issues and it took 3 tries before it worked. At 6 am I was checked again and was still at 5 so they started pitocin. At about 7:30 am my epidural stopped working and labor was intense so they checked and I was still a 5. At 8 my husband and mom went to the cafeteria to get something to eat.
They brought the anesthesiologist in and she turned my bed into a chair position and gave a new medication through the epidural. A half hour later I was at a 10. It was so quick that I had to call my husband and mom to come back. As soon as they walked in I started pushing and only pushed for 45 seconds. She had the cord around her neck and had her first bowel movement inside of me, but was still completely healthy. Just tiny. We went home the next afternoon and are now doing great.
Had our baby girl Miss Audrey on October 2. 39 weeks 1 day. Weight 9 pounds 1 ounce, 21.5 inches!
Went in for induction 3cm, cytotec pill to move things along, didn't work, on to pitocin. Made no progress for 6 hours, but contractions we're getting stronger so I got the IV pain meds to sleep around 12am, woke up to horrible contractions at 5cm at 1am, then broke down and got the epidural at 3am and 7cm. Tried to sleep but the back pain/labor was still intense. Apparently the epidural didn't take. Progressed to 10 by 4 and had her by 4:42am.
She was totally worth the pain! We love her so much, this is our 3rd girl.
We officially joined team blue. Jase Kai was born September 30th at 12:49pm. I was exactly 39 weeks and in labor for 28 hours. There were many changes to the birth plan but we rolled with the punches and are ecstatic with our sweet boy!!
Colson Michael EDD: 9/29/15 Arrived: 10/3/15 @ 5:02 pm Scheduled induction at 40w4d
Started pitocin around 7:30 am and it took me until 12:00 pm to dilate to 3 cm. At that point, I decided to ask for pain medicine to take the edge off my contractions. For the next two hours, I mostly slept through my contractions, every once in a while a particularly painful one slipped through the meds. At 2pm the pain meds seemed to wear off abruptly and my contractions hit painfully and got the shakes really bad! I decided to ask for my epidural and about 15 minutes after I received it, the dr checked my progress and I was at 8 cm! At 4:00 pm I was fully dilated, started pushing at 4:30 pm and Colson was born at 5:02 pm! He inhaled fluid during delivery so he spent the first day and a half in the NICU on oxygen and a glucose drip. However, he is finally back with us and is doing well! So in love!
Ryan Rose born October 2nd (edd October 6) 7lbs. 19inches.
My doctor and nurse were amazing. My doctor sat behind my husband and walked him through delivering our baby girl. It was such a beautiful moment for our family.
Alice Catherine was born 10/3/2015 11:18am. Edd was 10/9 7lb 4.5 oz 19.25 inches My water broke that morning at 5:45am and I had some sporadic contractions. Since baby number one came quick we went into hospital around 8 to check things out. Well in triage they came to check for positive rupture and do ultrasound where they determined she was BREECH. Surprise! I had been at the doc weekly and even the day before and they always thought vertex. Needless to say we were rushed to c section since I was laboring at 5cm and having contractions so by 11am I was in surgery. I wasn't mentally prepared for that but she is here safe and sound thank god. Good luck everyone! Next time I will def request ultrasounds to determine position. Yikes.
Waters broke at 6.30 am. Got to hospital about 9 and I was only 1cm. So I began bouncing on the ball and walking to further dilate. Then at 7pm we checked..nearly all my water had gone, I didn't want a cesarean so asked doc to induce. Within 10 minutes of the iv drip I was getting excruciating contractions 2 minutes apart. Oh it was the worst pain ever. I did that for 2 hours then found out that I was still 1-2 cm so my dr said there was no choice but to have a cesarean.
My operation was successful and baby Aisyah was born screaming into the world. ♡
Motherhood has been hard to adjust to this last week. A big shock to the system but I'm getting there with the support of my husband.
Ian Michael EDD: Oct 14, 2015 Born: Oct 3, 2015 @38.5wks 6lb 5oz, 19.5in
My husband and I took out daughter to the pumpkin patch on Thursday and walked a lot. Friday morning, lost my tmi, whole plug. Didn't think much of it because my Dr said the plug can regenerate, but it did look more brown. Friday afternoon became more and more tired and was having back pain. Went to bed, woke up Saturday morning @ 8:30 with menstrual like cramps low in front and back and bloody show. Walked around, had water, took shower, no change. More cramps and they were timeable. Called Dr she said to call her back if they were 10min apart. So I sent husband to take daughter to soccer and I finished backing my bag, dried my hair, put on makeup lol. By 11:30am, they were 8-12min apart. Dropped daughter off at the g'rents and went to the hospital. Walked in, said I thought I was in labor and was sent to L&D triage. Waited 45 min to get checked and by 12:50 was 9cm!!! Boy was everyone surprised! Got rushed into the delivery run, got water broken and was actually 8.5cm so I could still get an epidural. Got that, a small dose of pitocin to regulate contractions and used a birthing ball to help bring him down because he was at -3 station. 20min later, full 10cm, 109%, and he was at a 0. Started pushing at 5pm and my boy was born at 5:15. Only bad thing was the epidural had fully worked and I felt everything with the pushing. Other than that, dream delivery! No complications, except he is tongue tied and will have to get a frenotomy, but we were able to go home Sunday night. It was like a blur. After having my daughter, I deserved this type of delivery! Lmao
Eliana was due 10/10, but I was induced on 10/4 due to medical reasons. Induction took over 48 hours but we were patient and did not jump to a c-section. She was born on 10/6 at 11:38pm weighing 6lb 15oz. She is dealing with jaundice under bili lights but is otherwise doing awesome. Dad and I could not be more in love!
My little Gavin Anthony was born 10-6-15, @ 2:12 am. I was induced on our due date at 1pm and had him the next early morning. Went auper fast and even surprised some doctors on how fast I was dilating. Ended up pushing for 5 minutes and he was here! Hes are second miracle and love him so much!!! 7 lbs. 12 oz.- 19 inches long
Niko L born at 7:55pm. I was induced at 39.6 weeks. He's 8lbs 5oz and 20 inches long. I am 5ft!!! I tore a little but this was a super hard labor. I was stuck at 2.5 for 5 hrs even with pitocin. Then he was sunny side up so they had me moving side to side. When they moved me to the right and all of a sudden his heart beat dropped and every nurse was in here and I couldn't stop crying bc I thought omg the cord. So the immediately moved me to my left and his heart rate went back and they immediately stopped the pitocin. Contracted for another 3 hrs and was stuck at 6. They began pitocin and literally within an hour and a half I was ready.
I just wanted to a BIG thanks to everyone in this board. At the beginning of my pregnancy I was very very confused. I had cotiplated an abortion and after the support I got I decided he was conceived for a reason and now to see how well his dad has become attached to him melts my heart .
Claire Alexandria born October 6th at 11:45 AM via c section. Due date was 10/20. Weighed in at 7 lbs 9 ounces. Is latching wonderfully and is the most beautiful thing ive ever seen!
Goodbye Team Green, Hello Team Pink! Alyx was born at 5:33am yesterday morning (6 days overdue) by emergency c-section due to persistent asynclitic presentation. She is the spitting image of her dad! 8lb 1oz.
River Lee was born this morning at 8:30 a.m. Came in to hospital yesterday and started on pitocin at 2 pm for the scheduled induction. He was 9.9 lbs. and 22 inches long so I am happy I didn't wait longer. I decided to get the epidural at 4 cm because it's was so painful. Im sure that had to be due to the pitocin. Had two scares -- once when they broke my water his heart rate dropped really low but it went back up. Then when pushing him out shoulder got stuck but my doctor was able to manuver him out with no damage..but it was quite scary but I ended up having a vaginal delivery. He latched almost immediately and barely cried, his sugar is good he's just a big boy! I'm so in love and really I started out in my pregnancy wanting the ummedicated home birth but have a new respect for hospital labor & delivery. My epidural was great and so was my medical team with how fast they reacted to the shoulder situation and I ended up with only a first degree tear. Can't wait to get our big little guy home!
Rosalind Louise arrived at 11:15pm on October 3rd (due October 5th) after 3 hours of pushing. My water broke around 8pm on the 2nd, we went in to the hospital officially at 3:30am on the 3rd. Labored with contractions three or four minutes apart until about 8am. At that point they stalled out and I was only at 1cm so we induced with pitocin. Contractions really picked up around 11am and at 5pm I was at 4 cm and decided to get an epidural. I slept on and off until 8 pm when I had to start pushing. Pushed for three hours but her head was not coming out. Finally used the vacuum assist. Baby came out with one final push but I got a 4th degree tear. She is the sweetest little nugget.
William Jeffrey was born 10/6 at 3am after my water broke around 4pm on the 5th. EDD was 10/1 based on the early U/S but baby boy came out tipping the scales at 11lbs 2oz, and 23" long!! Had a vaginal birth (with epidural) - lets just say some stitches were involved! We had no idea he would be that big, Dr thought more like 9lbs at my last appointment.
Holy cow! I was having braxton hicks all day Wednesday and by 10 pm I had my first REAL contraction, then again at 10:05, then another 5 min after that. I took a hot shower to relax and by the time I finished they were 2 min apart lasting 1 min long. Called back midwife at 1230 and she said she would head over. By the time she got here it was around 2am. Set up birth tub and labored in and out of water. The hot water was AMAZING. When she arrived we found I was 5cm and the bag of waters bulding. Contractions were so so intense I wanted to give up and go to the hospital but my team was so supportive. By 5 am water still not broken and I asked for a check, I was only 8cm and then the water broke right after the check. Ellone showed up in 5 pushes by 5:40am. 7lb 8oz 19 in born into water, caught by me. We had immediate skin to skin for a couple hours, then as I cleaned up myself she had one on one time with daddy. We then took measurements and got wished off to bed as a new family ♡
We are so in love, home birth was so so difficult and I'm so happy I made it through! It's amazing knowing we don't have to leave the house. She nursed immediately and we are soaking up every minute together!
My partner and i welcomed my beautiful boy Oliver James on his due date at 8 35 pm. 6 pounds and 46 cm long. 22 hours of labour and a natural birth and with two giant pushes Oliver made his entrance. So happy and proud, good luck everyone and thank you for all the great advice and support over the months xxx
My DD is 10/23. This is my first child. I was wondering I keep having dreams that she is hear and its always the 16th. Is it possible I am seeing ahead some how or is it just the hormones talking?
He is absolutely perfect. After a long 50 hours labour due to non progression that lead to me being induced and bub not being able to be pushed out and had to have a cesarean but he is amazing in every way so in love.
Mia Shauna was born on 10/5 via RCS. 6lbs 8oz, 19 inches long. Everything went smoothly and we arrived home yesterday. She is such a sweet baby and her brothers adore her.

I fully expected to be an average FTM and go past my due date and have a lengthy 12-24 hour labor. I learned that I am one of the exceptions to the rule!
I woke up at 6am with cramps and didn't think too much of it because I had been having cramps at night for the past week. When they continued and I realized there were occurring at regular intervals, I knew they were real contractions. They were also more intense and wrapped around my back unlike cramps before. I thought for sure this was either practice labor or I would be in labor for several hours and considered going into work. The contractions got increasingly painful and by 7am when they were 4-5 minutes apart, I called my school's secretary knowing I wouldn't be able to teach through this. I tried to send my husband to teach his first class knowing he would be back by 9:30am. Thank God his secretary sent him home when he got to school. By the time he got home at 8am I was laboring in the shower and my contractions were 3-4 minutes apart. They were very painful and I realized we needed to get going to the hospital. It was difficult to get out of the shower and ready to go because every time I had a contraction I had to stop everything I was doing and start over. My water broke a little before 9am. The first time I tried to get into the car I ran back to the bathroom thinking I had a bowel movement. I didn't realize this was my first contraction that was making me push. The car ride to the hospital was about 30 minutes and I pushed the entire time. We got to the hospital at 9:35 and she was out by 9:43! All of the nurses were amazed that I was a FTM. My doctor wasn't able to make it into the room on time, but an amazing midwife did a great gob coaching me through the delivery.
My son Nolan Robert was born on October 6th at 11:33 am! He was born vaginally and without pain medicine because he came so fast! 6 lbs and18.5 inches and 2 weeks early!!
Our little Michelle was born 2 weeks early on 10/3/15 at 3:39pm. She just couldn't resist being here in time for daddy's 30th birthday on 10/4. Our tiny peanut came weighing 6 lbs 6 oz and 19 inches long. We are so in love with her!!
Zoe Renée was born on October 1st at 6:41 pm weighing 5 lbs 12 oz and was 18 inches long! My due date was October 4th. Due to hyperemesis and my horrible pregnancy I was induced September 30th at 8pm. I found out at the doctors that morning so you can imagine that I was freaking out all day!! I was 1cm dialated and already contracting on my own and was given a dose of citadel (small pill inserted vaginally to help dialate and efface) By 2am I was 2cm but my contractions were 2 mins apart so I couldn't be given pitocin. By 1pm I was only 3cm dialated and contractions every 30 seconds to 1 minute so I was given an epidural and had my water broke. By 5pm I was 7cm dialated and went to 10cm within 10 minutes. Pushed for under an hour! My little girl is perfect I am obsessed with her and so in love!! Totally worth the 22hrs of labor. Wishing everyone a quick and healthy labor!!
Kaspian Bryce Wayne was born on Oct. 2 , 2015 1 day after his EDD at 11:50 am. After 31 hours of labor and 40 min. Of pushing. Lost my mucus plug at about 3:45 and Started contractions at 3:52 am and went to L&D at 8:30 after going to Walmart and they said I was not in labor and to just go home but feel free to come back later, after I went home and walked, jumped, did squats, and danced around we went out to get pizzas for dinner and stop and pick up some other stuff (still having contractions the whole time) we went back in and I was 4 cm dilated and was admitted at 7:45 after getting a shower I had an hour of iv then got an epidural (beautiful thing) I slept after that then woke up and was given pitocin for being at 8 cm for a couple hours they said I "stalled out" after pitocin I started feeling contractions again and asked several times if my epidural was on they reassured me it was after 40 min of pushing Kaspian Bryce Wayne was born and they told me that my epidural had been off and had worn off for the last few hours of labor and that I had done it all naturally. Couldn't be happier with our little man born at 7 pounds 3 ounces 21 and 1/2 inches
