Everly Page Brown 6lbs 1oz 19 inches Due September 28 Born September 15
Born via scheduled CSection following a failed ECV on the 14th. Went home after ECV attempt and spent day relaxing, then back to hospital the day after for a section. Minor complications. Baby is overall healthy and teeny!!
Went in for my 41 week appointment and was measuring between one and two cent. I think she tried to provoke something up there bc it was a painful internal. Around 230 in afternoon was having timeable but mild contractions. They started to get more intense so dropped other kids off at my parents and headed into hospital at 6 pm. Got admitted sound 7 and they said I was at 7 cent. Just enough time for epidural. Only problem was anesthesiologist somehow forgot bag of medicine to hook up to line. By the time she came back I was pushing and screaming bloody murder!! Essentially unplanned unmedicated birth. It was the most intense thing I have ever been through. Truly unreal. Jane was 9 lbs! We are all doing great now though.
9 lb 10 oz , 20.87 in long Contractions started Thursday morning and were pretty irregular. Spent the morning doing laundry and tidying up the house with my 2.5 year old DD1. Went to my 41 wk dr appointment at 1:00pm. I was checked and at 2-3 cm and 80-90% effaced. After my checks I started having contractions 2-4 minutes apart. DH, DD1 and I picked up a couple things from target. We went home and got the bags together, I had some oatmeal and we headed to the hospital around 3PM. After being monitored for a while and having contractions in bed. I was dialated to a 4 and they said they'd be admitting me. Labored throughout the evening with DH and our best friend by my side. Baby was born all natural, no tearing and almost sunny side up. Her shoulder was stuck so there was a lot of manipulation going on once her head was out to try and free her shoulders and body. I was pretty sure I'd have some tearing but have none at all. Glad to not have to be induced after all! We are doing great, currently in the mother baby unit and being discharged tomorrow.
William Alexander 20.5 inches 8 lbs 7 oz EDD: 25 September, 2015 Born: 18 September, 2015 @ 6:03 AM
We were scheduled for induction on Monday, the 14th, due to high blood pressure, but everyone and their mother decided that that was the day to have babies. We were sent home and told to wait for a call. After a very frustrating 3 days, we finally got the call at 3:30 am on the 17th. Headed into the hospital, got settled into the bed, had cervix checked at 1 cm, and started Cytotek and a Foley bulb. Thank goodness we did, cause labor and delivery went crazy right afterwards! Anyway, labored through the first 3-4 centimeters with the foley bulb (that thing sucks!) and was in a fair amount of pain until it came out. Immediately felt better and was allowed to hang out for a while before starting pitocin around noon. Requested the epidural first, knowing how much pitocin contractions suck, and didn't feel a thing. At around 1:00 am, epidural wore off a bit, so they upped the meds and I was good to go. Took a two hour nap, and when I woke up, I was complete. Nurses gave me an hour to let baby drop further into the birth canal and then I started pushing around 5:00 am. Baby was born at 6:03 am and I didn't feel a thing the whole time. A couple first degree tears, but nothing crazy. Waiting to head to mother baby unit now (pending epidural wearing off). Seriously, didn't feel a thing the entire 26 hours of labor. It was wonderful.
Will is perfect and adorable and my husband is currently asleep next to him in the room. I can't believe I made a human, guys! Haha.

Well after a long 12 days over due! I gave birth vaginally to my beautiful son in the Friday afternoon he's amazing and the whole birth/experience was amazing seeing my partners tears fall and show his love for our creation :x
My water broke at midnight, 9/10 (which was not so great as I started off tired from the day before). I went straight into hard labor, with contractions 2 minutes apart. My midwife told me I was dehydrated, and I labored at home with my husband giving me water after every contraction until 5am. That slowed the contractions to about every 4 minutes, but they were too strong for me to get any sleep.
At 5am, we drove to my midwife's office, where she checked me. and said I was 5 cm dialated. We headed to the hospital to get me on IV fluids because of the continued dehydration. I had planned to do a water birth, but because of the dehyration, being positive for GSB, and other factors, I was in a regular labor and delivery room. I was pretty exhausted by that point, and my midwife was planning on getting me an epidural so I could rest (though I wanted to go natural), but by that point I was 9cm! We had some trouble with the anterior lip, and I had to push for three and a half hours, but I am proud to say I delivered my 9lb son drug-free! I kept saying "I can't believe I did it!"
Congrats to all the other mothers, and good luck to the mommys to be!

Walter Scott 8lbs 2oz 22 inches long Born 9/16 at 12:50pm EDD 9/20
After my 39 week appt which included an ultrasound, my dr told me it was time to move as baby was still breech (had been since 32 weeks and 2 failed ECV attempts) and fluid only being around a 6. We scheduled for the next day!
Arrived at hospital terrified and excited. The whole experience was unbelievably beautiful. Nobody wishes for a c-section, but if anyone else has to have them I wish that theirs will be as positive, peaceful, and joyful as mine. The entire staff was amazing, including my dr. My big, burly Alaskan husband wept the entire time with me, which made for very few dry eyes in the room. He entered the world kicking and screaming, and it was the most beautiful sight and sound.
Walt is a fantastic baby. He seems like an old soul. He has taught me how to breastfeed, it's like he already knew. We are so in love, words cannot express. Best wishes to all the mamas reading this.
Cordelia Grace Due 9/23 Born 9/16 @ 12:59pm 8 lbs 13 oz
It's a girl! CG was born via scheduled c section due to being breech and refusing to turn despite my many, many attempts to coax her. I was very sad about having to have a c section but I have made my peace with it and now think it was the best decision we could have made-not only was she breech but she weighed in at much more than the OB predicted, almost 9 lbs! I also had HBP and was on bed rest for the last eight weeks of the pregnancy so I truly believe she would have ended up a CS anyway, at the very least, it would have been a difficult delivery.
Anyway, we got to the hospital at 11:30am. There were only like two other ladies in L&D so we had a grip of nurses helping and everyone was in a great mood, it was almost like a party. I walked into the OR around 12:30 and got the spinal, ended up throwing up from the spinal which was NOT fun but everyone was super nice. Actual procedure was super quick, I didn't feel anything until they pulled her out which was a huge, quick burst of pressure and then I heard "it's a girl!" We were Team Green and I was convinced she was a boy. Convinced! I did not believe she was a girl and asked DH like three times if he was sure! They finished sewing me up, we went to the recovery room and I got to BF for the first time.
It's two days later and recovery is going well, pain was gnarly the first day or so but is more manageable now. I think the lesson from this whole process is that while I did not get the birth I thought I wanted, I got the birth I needed and in the end, it was just as beautiful as I could have hoped for. She's a perfect, healthy little girl and we are completely totally in love with her.
Everett Thomas Born and due on 9-18 9lbs 12oz 22in (ouch!) Couldn't do it natural because labor stalled after my water broke but it all went well and we are in love!!
So it been a rough couple of days for us but I am so blessed my baby girl is here! After a very uneventful pregnancy my BP apiked and could not be regulated with medication they tried to induce which was painful and awful since I was not dilated at all. When I told them I had a headache and I had a BP reading of 220/114 they took us straight to the OR for an emergency Section. Eleanor Pearl was born at 8:46 AM on September 18th and she was 7lbs and 4oz and 19inches. EDD was the 28th so she was only 10 days early

I was truly nervous but things went well. Spinal lasted a long time. Then my Lil man developed fevers but is now doing well!!!! Have never been so in love. Hoping to go home tomorrow. Nurses are shocked how well I have recovered, minus my swelling. Best of luck to everyone out there and thanks for all great advice and support.
Jacoby Clifton Born 9/18 on his due date!!!! My water broke unexpectedly at 1 AM. Labor stalled and we used Pitocin. Made it to 8 cm and got an epidural for pushing... It was AAAAAAAMAZING. I don't regret a thing. I love this little man so much!
Wilson Adler Houston Born 9-12 12:22 am EDD 9-18, scheduled section 9-14 7 lbs 7ozs, 20.5 "long
After not choosing 9-11 as our birth date (scheduled repeat section) my water broke as we were getting settled for bed! My water never broke with either of my other pregnancies, so that was a completely new experience! Had a small trickle I convinced myself was a bladder leak. Got back into bed but put a towel underneath just incase. Glad I did! Had the full gush then continued to leak all the way to the hospital. Had to ask a friend to go get stepdaughter from a football game while we packed up the last of the things I needed and got the little kids ready for bed and packed for grandmas. Once we were all set we headed in, and as soon as they determined I has ruptured they set to gathering the team for our section!
Having had 2 previous sections I pretty much knew what to expect and things went smoothly as far as delivery was concerned. More tugging and pulling than I remember for either of my other boys. Just after midnight (9-12-15) Wilson made his arrival! He let it be known with some serious wailing! He checked out perfect and the team set to putting me back together. As in my previous delivery they had to remove major adhesions between my lower uterine segment and bladder. I guess it was significantly worse this time so they back filled my bladder to be sure it was still intact. That process then the reconstruction took quite a while. We weren't back to our room until close to 2am. With all the kids upstairs waiting the recovery nurse was great, letting us go long before I could feel my legs! They also let me go on monday, ahead of schedule as I have been doing well. Recovery is about like I remember... feeling ok a week out. So in love with this little guy, and trying to be extra aware and in the moment as they recommend no future pregnancies as the risk of uterine or bladder rupture seems too great.
Went to hospital on Thursday to be induced. After no progression on Friday morning and a long night of baby's heart rate fluctuating, doctor and us decided to go for c section. Turns out that was a good decision because the cord was wrapped around her neck twice. Recovery is going well. I am very sore and tender near the incision but have been up and walking when I can. We are over the moon in love with our little girl.
Best of luck to all the mommies recovering and those who are still waiting for their LOs ☺️
Baby girl, still trying to come up with a name EDD 9/14 BD 9/18 8lb 8.5oz 21.5" long
FTM. Had my appt. with midwife at 3:30 on Thursday 9/17. Around 1:30 I had felt a very small leak when I got up out of my chair after working for a couple hours. Then it happened a couple more times leading up to my appt. At the appt. I mentioned the leaking and they tested it and it was indeed amniotic fluid, so the started preparing me to stay. I'm gbs+ so I was given a 24 hour window to start active labor. After about 12 hours, not a lot had really happened except a lot of fluid leaking and some very mild contractions so they suggested castor oil. I was very dead set on doing a natural birth and not going to the hospital, so I decided to the castor oil. By 5 am I had started getting really strong, really long, really painful contractions with almost no break between them. After a couple hours of that I was so desperate for some relief that I practically ran down the stairs of the birth center and hopped into the water birthing tub. Which then finally started to regulate my contractions and with breaks between them. I was then able to control my breathing and deal with the pain a little more. I pushed for 2 hours, and had 7 hours of active labor. It was the most intense thing I've ever done and was definitely not as prepared as I thought I was. I had taken a hypnobirthing class and while it did prove very helpful, I didn't come anywhere close to having a "pain free" birth that they push so much.
Forgot to attach a photo. She's an absolute dream and I just can't get over what I did to get her here. Good luck to all the moms still waiting to meet the LOs!
I went to work all day and felt random contractions, some which were painful. I'd been having them for a few days so I was tired of getting my hopes up about them. Around 3:30 I got my bloody show and it was so much that I actually called the OB. He said that if the contractions got regular or more intense than go to L&D. Called husband and waited for him to come home, showered and ate. We walked around and they started to come 3 minutes together as long as I was walking but would slow if I stopped but since they were painful we ended up going in. Good thing! I went in at 4 cm and was admitted. About 30 minutes later OB checked and I was 5 so he broke my water and things took off from there. I was trying not to get an epidural or any other medications. The pain from the contractions was intense. DH and I did the 6th grade sway the whole time. About 2.5 later they were so hard to make it through and a second one would start before the first one stopped. I talked to the nurse about an epidural because I didn't think I could do it anymore, she said let the OB check me again. I was at 9! There was no time. I started to push a few minutes later and 5 pushes later our little man was here! We got our skin to skin and he breastfed on both sides. It was the most intense pain I have ever felt in my life but everything went the way I hoped it would in the end.
Went in to be induced. After a failed 12 hours with cervidil, I was given pitocin. Every time the pitocin brought on strong contractions baby went into stress. After 32 hours of long labor I was rushed in to get a c-section. Baby and I are doing well!!

Went in at 7pm to be induced. They started me on cytotec to finish softening my cervix and I ended up getting epidural around 2 am. Was dilated from 2 to a 10 by 10:30 and pushed our little girl out by 11:01 AM she latched on with breastfeeding right away and the fiance and I are so in love!
After no progression at 6 days overdue, my doctor discussed options other than VBAC. Scheduled section for Friday morning. We are both doing really well and I'm so glad we got to go home the next day. Big sis is so excited.
Collier Jay Heath EDD Sept 15 Born Sept 19 at 2:56 PM 7 pounds 12 ounces 20.5 inches
Our sweet baby boy was born yesterday and we are so in love with him already!
My water broke 9/19 at 1:30 AM. Contractions started about 5 min later and came on pretty strong. We headed to hospital as they were about 5 minutes apart. When we got to hospital I was already 100% effaced and 5 cm dilated. We were admitted pretty quickly and contractions were already 2-3 minutes apart and were SO painful. It was honestly worse than I imagined it would be (FTM). I decided to get epidural around 4:00 AM. Best. Decision. Ever. After that labor became a nice experience. No more vomiting or perfusely sweating due to pain. I went to sleep until 9:30 AM and was checked again. I was 9 cm at that time and baby was at 0 station. My OB said she would be back in a bit and said she wanted baby to descend to +2 and then we could start pushing.
My OB apparently got slammed with deliveries and didn't come back until 1:00 PM. She checked me and said baby was ready to start pushing. She left and came back a while later and baby Collier was delivered after only 6 pushes! It was a painless delivery with no rips or tears! I feel so blessed to have had a wonderful birth experience! Baby had an hour of skin to skin afterwards and is breastfeeding so well! I hope he keeps it up! Baby is perfect and healthy! My husband and I could not be any happier! Good luck to all those who have yet to deliver! Wishing you all great experiences and healthy babies!
Lily was breech so we had a scheduled c section on Sunday Sept 13th. We got to the hospital at 8am for 10am procedure but got pushed back until 5:45 pm because of bunch of emergency c sections. We finally heard our little girl cry at 6:01 pm. We are in love!!!! We are all doing great :x
Jackson Conor EDD: 9/23 Born: 9/19 4:10 pm 9 lbs 11.4 oz, 20.28 in long, 14.76 in head!
Water broke at 3 pm on the 18th after having membranes swept at my appointment on the 17th, where I was 2 cm and 50% effaced. Went straight to hospital at doctors request. Walked the halls and bounced on yoga ball to try and kickstart labor naturally. Nothing was working so we started a very low dose of pitocin at 9 pm. Contractions started an hour later and by 3 am I was in real pain but still only 5.5 cm and 70% effaced. Decided I was too big of a wuss to do it without the epidural so that was placed by 4 am. It was magical. I dozed the rest of the night. Got checked again at 11 am and was fully effaced but had an anterior lip of 2 cm and baby was still -2 station. By 3 pm was ready to go but I was mildly tachycardic with a low grade fever. Pushed for an hour and once the head was out the rest of baby came quick. Had delayed cord clamping and immediate skin to skin but didn't make it to breastfeeding because my placenta would not come out. It did eventually but then my uterus would not contract and I was losing lots of blood. Got taken to emergency surgery for several hours and was reunited with baby and boyfriend about 830 pm. Got to do some breastfeeding but he's not great at staying latched and it is painful. He is however very good at sleeping and so far hasn't been too fussy. We will be here until Tuesday morning due to both of us needing antibiotics and the surgery I needed. So happy to be unplugged from everything and up and walking a bit. Had 2nd degree tearing as well as several stitches in my cervix after surgery. Wouldn't change a thing because our little man is perfect! We weren't expecting it but he's a total ginger!
Went in for an induction on Friday the 18th. Was 3 cm starting out. Progressed slowly. Had my water manually broken 6 hours into induction. Water breaking made contractions intensify real fast. Got epidural, GOD BLESS epidurals. Dilated very fast after epidural and pushed for about 30 min and out came my little sweet heart. She's beautiful and we are so lucky !! Breast feeding like a champ .
Called the doc mom Sept 12, baby girl was eXtra extra quiet, barely any movement. Went to the office for an NST which we failed. Got sent to the hospital for observation, failed another NST. Had an ultrasound, showing baby movement but since this was a recurring problem over the past few weeks, Doc said I was close enough to my due date that he would like to induce to be safe. Induction started Monday Sept 12, FINALLY had baby girl on thurs Sept 17!!!!! Such a long exhausting proccess but we are over the moon in love.with little Riley.
I woke up at 1:30 am because I had a dream my water broke. Got back in bed but couldn't sleep and was having what I thought were Braxton Hicks do I got a glass of milk and started watching tv. Around 4 am it crossed my mind I might be in labor because the area of contractions were lower in my belly than the Braxons I had felt the last few weeks. My husband woke up at 5 am and I tried to get him to go to morning yoga because I didn't want to freak him out and I thought being a FTM that early labor would take forever. By 6:30 am I was still talking through contractions but they were definitely more intense so I texted my midwife and doula to let them know my contractions were a min long and coming every 5 to 6 min. By 7am I couldn't talk through them and moved to the bedroom where my husband made our room like a cave. Our Doula arrived at 10 am and her and my husband started to set up the birth tub. Midwife came at 10:30 and checked me and said I was 8 cm! By 11:30 I started involuntary pushing (I definitely was making animalistic noises but it was the thing that felt most natural.) At noon my midwife checked me again and I was ready to go. At 12:35 our baby boy was born in our bedroom (didn't have enough time to get the pool set up) and ended up with a tiny year that didn't require stitches.
I am so happy my husband and I got the home birth we wanted. As a FTM I expected to go way over my due date and to be in labor for 24 hours. Instead our baby arrived only 2 days after his EDD and I was only in active labor for about 5 hours.
It was the hardest thing I have ever done but I have never felt so empowered. I absolutely couldn't have done it without my husband (especially when I started to lose myself during transition he would sit by the bed and breeth like I was supposed to do I was able to match his breath and not lose control.)
Best of luck to each and every one of you! Now on to trying to toughen up these nipples!!!
Well, our boy has arrived! Water broke at 5:10 pm September 19. Admitted to labor n delivery unit at 6pm. Contractions started strong and heavy at 3min apart. Quickly ended up being 2min apart. I opted for the epidural. Dilated nicely and efficiently on my own.. Was fully dilated by 6am.. But due to lack of sleep and food in 24 hours nearly my body slowed down. Contractions slowed to 5-6 mins. We waited until about 12pm to admin Pit to make the contractions regular and closer together so we could push him out! He was out within 40 mins of pushing.
Born at 2:25pm Sept 20th (EDD Sept 21) 8lbs 12 oz 22 inches long
I was pretty sure I was in labor by around 9pm on Wednesday, since my nightly "I think this is it!" contractions were getting stronger even after I laid down. By 1:30am things were slowing down so I took a hot shower to see if that would get things moving again. Sure enough! Woke DH around 2:30. By 3:30 I was having contractions every two minutes so we hopped in the car to head to the hospital, and things slowed down again.
I was only 5cm, and only contracting every 6-7 minutes when we got there, which was disappointing, but my midwife and doula reassured me that this was just the right birth for this baby. Labored in the shower, on the ball, and in the bed. 8cm by 9:30, had water broken around 11, baby was born at 11:59am. She gave us a scare at the end with a 90-second shoulder dystocia, but my midwife maneuvered her out like a pro!
Very late to post this but recovery has been tougher than anticipated.
After about 26 hours of labor (the last 6 of which I had an epidural for) and 1 hour of pushing, our little Theodore was born via normal vaginal delivery! I was planning to go the natural childbirth route, but was glad that I opted for the epidural in the end and was able to rests for a bit before pushing him out. DH and I were both scared at the end there because the cord was wrapped around his neck and he came out looking kind of grey, but everything ended up okay. We love him more than we ever could have imagined!
Greyson Matthew Born: 9/15/15 at 9:35pm EDD: 9/17/15 Weight: 7lbs 13.1oz Length: 21 inches
Originally going to get induced on 9/10 because of having gestational diabetes, however my other son's birthday is 9/11 so postponed induction until Monday 9/14. Come Monday 9/14 the L&D dept was having a busy morning so we got the call to arrive at 2 pm. I had been having some random Braxton hicks contractions prior to showing up at hospital. Lost my mucos plug at 1 pm. When arriving at hospital they hooked me up to fetal heart rate monitor and my contractions were more regular than I thought as they were 5-6 min apart. Weren't painful at this point. Due to having contractions the dr decided not to give me cervadil and instead wanted to start a low dose pitocin to help get my cervix ready. I had walked the halls and taken a shower while they were supposed to get the pitocin ready - when they hooked me back up to the monitor my contractions were now 2 1/2 min apart and I couldn't have the low dose pitocin. The rest of the night turned into a wait and see as to if my body naturally progressed. Around 9 pm the babies heart rate dropped and all of a sudden my room was swarming with nurses and a midwife (the dr was busy down the hall) they had me switch to laying on my side and started an iv and gave me oxygen. His heartrate did go back up and so they monitored me the rest of the night.
In the morning my contractions had spaced back out and they decided to start the low dose pitocin. At this point I was only dilated 3 cm and 80% effaced. I also had been diagnosed with Group B Strep so they started antibiotics with the pitocin - it was 11:30am. At 3:30 they started the second dose of antibiotics through iv and the dr said once they were done she would break my water. Well my water broke on its own at 3:45. Bigger gush happened at 4:10 and contractions picked up in intensity pressure and became longer. By 4:30 I was asking for pain meds. When they checked me I was 4 cm and received epidural at 5pm.
By 8:30 I was feeling a lot of pressure and nurse checked me I was 10 cm. she wanted me to wait until the pressure built up more in between contractions. By 9:15 I called her back into tell her I was ready. She wanted me to push once to see how I pushed before getting the dr. I went to go push and she told me not to as she could see the head. She went and got the dr. I started pushing at 9:30 and Greyson came at 9:35. I didn't tear thankfully.
Greyson is so laid back and enjoyable - both his big brothers (17 and 13) love him as much as we do.

I seen my doctor on Monday and got my membranes swept & he also schedule me for a induction on 9/24/15 I did not want to pass my due sate without giving birth on or before my due date . This has been the longest I have carried a Baby . My two oldest kids were born at 38 weeks by induction . I was so depressed & over it by this time . I cried & cried & cried everyday .
On wed I was having mild Braxton hicks contractions that morning ... Basically I ignored them like blah blah I'm never going to delivery . So my fiancé and my one year old went to the mall walked around and shopped a little . I started having hot flashes and felt really different to the point that contractions were coming in pretty hard . I got home and was so tired .i had to lay down . My body was shutting fish on me the contraction went away .
At 2am Thursday morning contractions woke me out of my sleep coming in extremely hard . I felt as if i had a bowel movement coming . Went to the bathroom no bowel movement. The pain remained the same . I was like back labor & lower abdominal pain . Whewwww the worst pain ever . I got in the shower twice to see if the contractions lift ...nope they stayed the same .i wanted to stay another hour home to make sure this was the real thing . My fiancé was like no let's go now , you are in pain . Thanks god I listened because I was 4cm when I arrived to the hospital .
I went from 4cm to 6cm within 45mins everything moved so fast .I want my epidural asap. When the anestiologist finally arrived I was ready to push. I couldn't bare the contractions I couldn't sit still at all . I gave birth naturally . What a experience it was . I got epidural a with my first two children & I was induced with the first two . Never went into labor naturally on my own .
We are so happy & excited the navy has arrived and are loving him so much . I'm still So drained from labor ...good luck the moms that are still preggers <img src=
Baby Sam EDD: September 8 Born September 18 Ten pounds!
Had mild contractions Thursday night, nothing to painful about six minutes apart. Eventually, I thought I was leaking fluid and went into hospital at one in the morning. They determined it was not amniotic fluid and checked my cervix and told me I was only one centimeter. I went home at 3 in the morning where contractions started becoming painful and just three minutes apart. I labored in my shower for awhile and got in bed at 6 am where my water broke. It was a pop and a big gush so there was no questioning it this time. We called and they told us to take our time coming in considering I was only one cm just hours before. But then the contractions came on hard and fast, incredibly painful and just two minutes apart. I had been planning a natural birth but at this point told my husband we need get to the hospital now and I need drugs! When we got to labor and delivery at 7 am the contractions were already one on top of the other with little to no breaks and they were the most intense and unbearable pain. I was screaming for an epidural but the anesthesiologist was caught up in an emergency c section. After two hours of incredible pain and screaming like a mad woman the doctor came in and administered the epidural. As soon as it kicked in my midwife checked me and I was already at ten centimeters. They decided to let me rest and labor down for two hours. I felt so amazing and pain free with the epidural and slept wonderfully. Two hours later the midwife came back and looked inside and saw the baby's head and said it was time to push. I pushed for an hour and a half. It was painless but very hard work. When they pulled him out they were so amazed at how big he was. They pulled him out, the cord stopped pulsing quickly, the husband cut it and they put baby on my chest. Placenta came out quickly and two minor labial tears were stitched up. The midwives and nurses were so amazed that I vaginally birthed my massive baby with so little damage. On Friday had my Dr.sweep my membranes. Timable back pain started Saturday afternoon and was growing stronger so we thought this could be it. Aftert midnight it was pretty constant so we went to the hospital, told it was not contractions but I was at 3 cm, 80% effaced, and baby was higher up (-3 station). Went home but the back pain wouldn't let up so I went to the chiropractor at 10 for a walk in appointment. Actually had my water break right before my adjustment where he told me my pelvis had twisted and did a light adjustment.
I wasn't leaking any more fluid (after talking with Dr. he felt the baby's head dropped and sealed off the rest) but there was green in the fluid that did come out originally. Told to go back to the hospital. Was having intermittent back pain with some cramping pulling forward but not active enough to get labor going.
At hospital - my water had definitely broken and they swept just inside to find meconium was in it. I was admitted at 4cm but the doctor was afraid this would not progress quickly enough so I agreed to go on to pitocin. I wanted to try to at least keep pain med free so I got to birth in the room with the jacuzzi tub (best way to labor IMHO, so relaxed during contractions that I slept between them). Moved through transition in about 30 minutes and was ready to push. Pushing took about 1 and a half hours but I felt pretty good during. Finally got the baby's head out (could see him in the mirror) but he swallowed a blob of mucus so my rest period between contractions was skipped and I had to do 2 more pushes to get him out immediately. The Dr cut his cord and sent him to the side of the room for immediate evaluation. He had a ton of mucus in his system and was in respiratory distress. So they wrapped him up let me hold him for a minute and took him straight to NICU with my husband. Luckily my parents were with us (originally we decided only me and my husband in the room but we were really happy that my parents were there too in the end).
I lost a lot of blood due to contractions not starting and the Dr had to pull the placenta out (ouch!) - was probably around 3 lbs. So I have been battling low blood pressure and iron issues, worse at first but getting better. Some tearing right before the crowning so Dr did an episyodomy

Contractions started Thursday morning and were pretty irregular.

Haha.

Nurses are shocked how well I have recovered, minus my swelling. Best of luck to everyone out there and thanks for all great advice and support.

Team green went PINK!!!

I'm still
So drained from labor ...good luck the moms that are still preggers <img src=

He's the cutest thing I've ever seen!
