I was due on 9/10 but went into labor at exactly 39 weeks on 9/3- my baby girl was born at 5:04 am on 9/4. I started with constant BH contractions after my normal OB appt. earlier that day. They lasted all day while at work and when I got home and progressed into the night and I thought something might be up so we head to hospital around 11 pm Wed night. Well I was only a cm dilated and 80% thinned/ so they sent me home and told me to "rest". Oh right! No sooner did we get home that the real ones started to kick in by 2 am. They were coming fast and furious about 5-6 mins apart and I basically suffered thru them all night literally moaning on my living room floor. It was one of the worst nights of my life, By the next morning we headed back into hospital. DH and I picked up my mom first and this time it's of course height of morning traffic and I'm contracting in car- good times. Get to hospital by 9 am-They hook me up and tell me that I'm still only 2cm but I'm 100% thinned out. I told them there is no chance I'm going all the way back home- I could barely walk at this point!!! They decided to send me upstairs to a very large treatment room where they gave me anti nausea meds and morphine to help me thru the pain while I continued to dilate. Contractions were awful and the pain was crazy. Finally at about 5 pm the doc came in and checked me and said I was 5 cm dilated and as soon as they had a room ready, we were heading down to labor & delivery. At this point I was in so much pain I was like "when can I get an epidural??" They said as soon as we get you downstairs. Great! Well the whole process of everything just seemed to take so LONG. Apparently loads of ladies had decided to give birth that day- so things moved at a glacial pace. Finally around 6 pm or so they move me downstairs. By this point I had noticed I passed my mucus plug and finally noticed some fluid had passed although my water never gushed or broke completely. Once I get into Labor and delivery I once again frantically ask about epidural- I honestly felt like I just couldn't take the pain anymore. I was emotional, exhausted, and in tears. Once again, more waiting and preparation. Finally the doc comes in who will administer it and asks me about an autoimmune condition I have. (I had been thru this 8 times already with every nurse so at this point my patience is shot). She seemed concerned about coagulation issues and I told her I had never had an issue with blood clotting or anything like that. For a minute it looked like my epidural wouldn't happen. Once again, I burst into tears in front of my mom and husband and I was thinking "why is she being so cruel- can't she see how much pain I'm in?!?" My mom tried to reassure me it would be alright and the Doc agreed to go ahead with it and run blood work after. Phew. Ok, so I get the epidural and it was glorious, thank you Jesus!! It made my legs and lower body feel warm and tingly and the pain relief was amazing and such a relief. I was so tired from no sleep at this point that they dimmed the lights for me and I just relaxed while I waited to dilate to 10. It was probably 8:30 pm at this point. The hours passed. My contractions had slowed slightly so they gave me some pitocen to speed things back up. It wasn't too bad- due to the epidural I didn't feel them badly but I could tell they were happening which was good. Midnight came and went- now we are into Friday. I lost track of time but around 2 am doc checks me and woohoo I'm fully dilated! He says baby's head is "right there". He asks if I have the "rectal pressure" yet and I said no. I didn't feel anything down there. He decides to let me contract more before pushing. At this point I could have given myself more dosages of the epi but I knew it was getting time to push so I purposely allowed it to wear off enough for me to be able to know when to push. It worked- I was feeling the contractions so I was able to tell the nurse, my husband and mom and they would grab my legs. I was able to push like crazy cause I could not feel anything "down there" thank God!! I can only imagine! By this time I was so hot, so thirsty- they discovered I had spiked a fever probably due to my water breaking so many hours earlier. Doc decides to give me a little help so I wouldn't have to push for an hour due to my fever. He used the vacuum suction thingy on her head- before you know it, Emma's head pops out and then the rest of her. Probably pushed for 20 mins total. Born at 5:04 am- 27 hours after my first real contractions started!! I tore a lot so doc spent a decent amount of time stitching me up- then they placed Emma on me for skin to skin and I was able to BF her right away. It was honestly one of the longest, hardest, most emotionally and physically difficult experiences I've ever had in my life. I burst into tears the minute she came out- both because I immediately loved her and I was so damn tired and I worked so hard for her. My hubby was in awe at the experience and what he saw me go through. He flat out said he could never do it. My mom is so grateful she got to be my coach (hubby was happy to have mom step in)- we were both so grateful she was there. I don't know what I would have done without her, honestly. Emma Grace was a little nugget at 6.6 (I'm petite and I was only 5 lbs 14 ounces when I was born)- and she's just perfect. We just keep staring at her adorable face and full head of hair and she was so worth it!
Ellis Fox EDD: 9/10 Born: 9/7 Wt: 7lbs 12oz 19 inches long
My Labor Day baby! I was induced due to cord issues, and went in the night of the 6th with no progress whatsoever. When they checked my cervix I thought she was going to end up in my ribcage. They placed a foley bulb in and we went to sleep. The next morning I was dilated to a 4 and started on pitocin at 7am. I labored until around noon with no epidural when I started bleeding and the pain got intense. They checked me and I was a 6. They gave me an epidural and broke my water, which really got things going. My son didn't tolerate contractions very well, he had a lot of heart decels and deep variables which led to being put on oxygen and the possibility of an amnio fluid transfusion. I went from a 6 to a 10 in about 2 hours and we started pushing! His head was out in about 10 minutes but his heart rate started dropping into the 80's, so my Dr had me keep pushing regardless of contractions to get him out! He is a lot smaller than I expected, his brother was a butterball! This delivery was so much smoother than the last one and I am so thankful we had such great nurses and Dr to help our baby boy. Everyone is great and hopefully we go home tomorrow!
Gage Thaigo EDD 9/13 Born 9/8 4:47 am 8lbs 1.5 oz 19.5 long
What a crazy couple of days so I was scheduled for a c-section on 9/7 because he was breech. I get there at 5am they do an ultrasound come to find out he flipped. They send me home and tell me to come back at 5pm and to walk walk walk I was only .5 dilated. At 3pm I'm just miserable I feel like he's just going to fall out so I call the hospital and they tell me to come in. No change I was still .5 dilated. At 6pm they start pitocin at 12:45am my water broke I got an epidural and slept like a baby I have to tell you the best sleep in 9 month. At 3am I was 9 cm dilated at 4:25 I was ready to push 20 min later he was out. I never tore or ripped nothing. I can't tell you how stinking happy I am it's all over!!! Zero stiches and a pretty easy labor/delivery. This pregnancy has been pretty miserable but someone was like "hey she's had enough" lol. Picture was of him getting a bath he was not a happy camper but now spending lots of time with mommy and is nursing well.
After a week of sporadic and rare contractions, they started being regular at about 8 minutes apart on Monday night. I timed them for two hours before calling the dr as they averaged 6min apart. She had me come in at 11pm and after I was checked at 4cm 80%effaced and contractions 2-3min apart, we stayed! The contractions weren't super painful, similar to period cramps. I labored at about the same rate for 7 hours before opting for the epidural. It was painless going in and worked perfectly! I labored to 6cm by 10am and then my water was broken. An hour later I was paging the nurse because I had the urge to push. I was complete at 12 and we started pushing at 12:20. 2.5 hours and a third degree tear later, my chunky monkey was born! He is a breastfeeding champ, has barely cried, and daddy is absolutely eating up his new friend. We are so blessed!
Ava Grace Due September 4th Arrived September 8th 6lb 15oz 20 inches long
I was supposed to go in at 6am this morning to be induced. I really didn't want to start labor that way so I walked, cleaned, and DH and I had sex twice yesterday...lol
I woke up about 1am with cramps in the front and back. I had those the morning before, but they went away after about an hr, so I didnt think much of it. Well, time kept going on and they weren't letting up. About 3, I finally decided to call L&D and they told me to go ahead and come in. Even if I wasn't actually contracting, they would still go ahead and admit me. Turns out, my contractions were already 7 or 8 mins apart and it took less than an hr to get to 4 to 5. The went ahead and started the pitocin about 630 or so. I dilated pretty slowly I the beginning. The epidural was the worst part because I was being uncooperative. It kept going in wrong, even though everything else was fine. Took twice as long as it should have. Once that was in though, I was super relaxed and ready to go.
Started feeling lots of pressure about 4 or 5 and was already up to about 7.5cm. The pressure kept building and by about 7 or so, I was ready to push. She came out after about 20 minutes. I do have a third degree tear, which was my biggest fear, but I know it will heal and everything will be okay!
We are so in love! My heart burst when I saw my husband hold her for the first time. It was so beautiful!
Due to a few issues, among them the fact that she was breech I had a scheduled c section at 8 am on 9/8. The c section turned out to be not so bad and I was up and walking by the afternoon. We were told that Alice might have to go to the nicu because of her size, but so far she is just perfect and hasn't left my side! I'm so happy to have her safe and here! Good luck to everyone else!
Name: Dylan Louis EDD: 9.4.15 Arrived: 9.8.15 Time: 10:32 am 8 lbs, 3 oz, 20 in long
We are so excited to introduce Dylan to the world! Started having contractions throughout Monday at MILs for a BBQ... By the time we arrived home around 830, we started timing- finally understood what they really felt like (I hadn't been sure in the days before!) and they were about 10 min apart. I decided to try to go to bed figuring it may be a long night. Of course, didn't sleep. Rushes picked up and by about 130, they were averaging 5 mins apart. Called hospital, they said come down (I was GBS+). My water broke on our way out the door, confirming yes, this was the real deal. Got to hospital at 2 and had to triage. Contractions were really disrupted, so they recommended pitocin immediately. I said no thanks, I'm really trying to avoid that and my contractions were strong at home, they'll come back. Got admitted bc of the water and GBS status anyway. Was up and down for a bit, doula arrived and I relaxed some. We walked and whatnot, but every time they got me into bed to monitor me I would slow way down. At 8am, shift change and MY doctor was the one on call! I was thrilled to see her. We requested a physical exam- by this point they were saying I needed the pit because every time they monitored, my contractions were far apart and inconsistent. Here was my struggle because I wanted to avoid all the meds- I had a feeling if i went pit, I'd also go with an epidural. Doc was exited for me to be 5 cm! I latched onto her enthusiasm. Doula put me into tub and went for a cup of coffee. DH was the most amazing coach and helped me through it. Within 45 mins, I was freaking because I felt like my body was saying push! Nurse (I had a really bitchy one) was like, well yeah, that's how it's supposed to feel. When doula arrived back, she saw me contract, got me out of the tub and got the doc in. I went from 5-9cm in 45 mins! She had me in a kneeling position leaning on the back of the bed for a few more contractions and I was like, omg, he's going to come right now. Doc came back, I was still at 9 but she manually helped me get to 10 by letting me start to push and moving the rest of the cervix away. They said I did a great job pushing- took about 20 mins until baby came out! Most overwhelming, beautiful amazing thing in the world. I can't believe that I was able to stick to my plan and go med-free as a FTM, but I felt FANTASTIC after, minus being wiped out! Dylan is breastfeeding and sleeping well and our family is in awe. DH has been incredible, I'm so proud of him too. Good luck to the rest of Sept 15 mommies!!!!!
Big baby girl! Amelia jo (AJ) EDD9/8/2015 BD 9/8/2015 9Lbs 15 oz 22 inches long
Started having contractions Monday night and started timing them around 6am to See if hubby was going to work. Contractions were 2-3 minutes apart so we headed in. Got checked at only 2 cm and doc told us to walk for an hour. After that I was 4 cm so we got admitted. I knew I wanted the epidural so got it around 2pm. My BP went down super low 80s/50s, Baby heart rate also dropped. Potcin got cut off and a whirlwind of action trying to get both me and AJ stable. Dilated to an 8 and just couldnt get any futher. Had wonderful nurses who turned me, rocked me and even had me try to push her down. AJ just couldnt make it down my cervix and I was officially done (epidural quit working twice). Around 10 my nurse asked if I wanted to quit pushing because she knew baby wasn't going to come out vaginally. Got me preped and headed to OR. I was able to see the reflection in one of the big lights on the ceiling so I saw whole surgery. Baby was so big she was clamping my catheter closed as I had a huge bladder blocking access to baby. 1023 my sweet beautiful very large baby girl waa born intI the world Nd I saw her being pulled from my abdomen. She was lodged in and so big I could have pushed for hours and never got her out on my own. Around 11 I got to recovery and got lots of meds since all I could do was shake uncontrollably. 1145 I breastfeed for the first time and baby girl done great and was hungry!! Made it to my room around 1am and hubby and baby joined shortly. She is nursing like a pro we're just both so hot she gets a little mad at me. Hopefully will be up around 1030 this morning.
John EDD 9/04/15 ARRIVAL 9/05/15 6lbs 11oz 19.5 inches
Went in Saturday 9/5 at 9am for NST because I was 40 weeks 1 day. Planned an inducement for 9/10 but didn't need it! Doctor saw my contractions were 2 min apart and dilated to 4cm. She broke my water at noon. I had epidural at 3pm. Dilated to just over 9cm by 5pm. Started pushing by 6pm. He arrived at 7:18pm after a couple big pushes.
I can't believe how wonderful my labor went. I was scared but was the best thing ever. As soon as I held my son I broke down crying. I would do it again tomorrow! Best to all.
My water broke around 5am on Sunday (the 6th) and we arrived at the hospital by 9am. I had rather easy labor for a few hours, walking around the hospital and soaking in the tub. I wasn't dilating as fast as I should've been so they started me on pitocen late afternoon. I am not a fan of that stuff. I felt absolutely horrible! 15 hours after my water broke, I decided an epidural was inevitable. Holy smokes, that stuff is AMAZING. I fell asleep almost immediately until midnight-ish when the pressure "down there" was too much. By 1:30am, I was finally dilated to 10 cm, and started to push! Dagne was quite stubborn so the dr decided on using the vacuum to help her out. A couple pushes later she appeared! We did not know if we were having a boy or girl, so having my daughter on my chest was such an amazing feeling! We're home now and settling into the life of a family of 3. What a wonderful way to spend Labor Day!
Name: Carter 1st EDD: 9-11-15 2nd EDD: 9-9-15 ARRIVAL: Labor Day! , 9-7-15 7pounds 1 ounce 21 inches long
As a surprise to everyone, baby boy wanted to come on Labor Day! My water broke on its own, in the hospital at 5:30 AM, and I very quickly felt what real contraction pains were like. Shortly after I was given an epidural(painless procedure and AMAZING experience after). I went hard and fast to a 9, then my contractions were in all over the place, anywhere from 2 minutes to 7-10 minutes apart?! Nobody could figure it out! I did not want a c section, and was thankful the medical staff let my body figure it out on its own(all while checking on the safety of baby boy nonstop and talking our options) finally was ready to push at a 10, after HOURS at a 9....less than 40 minutes of pushes and baby boy was in my arms at 7pm! Baby Carter had some oxygen while mommy was stitched up! I had the best experience and thanks to the epidural I was able to enjoy my experience and even the art of pushing!!! We are so in love and grateful God chose us as the parents of this amazing, mellow, beautiful little boy. Also, my DH is such a natural it brings me to tears! He was my ROCK in labor and now after as my body tries to recover, plus breast feed our baby.
We are all at home now trying to find our routine! Funny story: we walked through the door with Carter, and then we looked at each other after a few minutes and said, "Now what!!?" LOL I'm still in the 'now what' phase but we are cherishing every second!! I can't wait to keep reading all these birth stories.
Max Anthony EDD: sept.1 Birthdate: sept.9 8lbs 14oz 21 1/2" long
Started labour at 345am on sept.8 and decided to let it run it's course and see if it got any stronger. It def did!! Got to the hospital at 9am and was 2cm dialated. They admitted me. Since I was overdue, I was supposed to be induced the next day. By 3pm I was 5cm. Midwife said I should progress really fast from here on out. Little did we know that baby had moved his head into a transverse position. They will not deliver a baby in this position. A c section was threatened numerous times. I already wanted a med free and natural birth. I pretty much got every drug possible, but was not going to give up my natural birth. So after an extremely long day, Max was born at 845am sept.9.
Allie Katherine EDD: September 11 Birthdate: September 4 8:26 am 6 lbs 13 oz 18.5 inches
Was going to be induced a few days before due date but plan changed at my 38+6 appointment to c-section for medical reasons. Spinal was great but a very weird feeling. Felt very nauseous remaining day starting in recovery room. Was given phenergan then zofran then phenergan and did wind up vomiting once which made pain worse. Had a lot of gas distention (from bowel manipulation as well as pain meds) which was very painful. But I'd do it all again in a heartbeat and so worth it!
We are SOOO in love with our beautiful daughter!!!
Liam Michael EDD- 9/20/15 Birthday-9/9/15 8:29pm 7lbs 5oz 19inches
Had already been to the hospital at 8/31 progressed to 4 cm and stopped. Came back at 6 am 9/9 due to what i believed was back labor. Got the epidural around 10:30am which was my savings grace! Best thing ever! Started pitocin around 1pm stuck at 7 cm. Broke my water around 7pm and I became 10 after they did that. Didn't feel about 95% of contractions. About 45 mins of pushing which felt like nothing and Liam was here. So in love, he's a breastfeeding champ so far.
Audrey Grace was born at 9:14 am on 9/10, I day after EDD, weighing 6 pounds 15 oz and 21" long! Got to the hospital at 7:25 am, was already 8 cm dilated, they had just enough time to get me in a gown and on the bed, 4 pushes later my very first baby was born! She had a perfect 10 apgar score and is breast feeding like a champ. Dr said if I ever have another baby I better get to the hospital ASAP so I don't have a home/car birth!
Went for a regular check up with midwives at a birth center and had some concerning blood pressure readings. They sent me to triage at the local women a babies hospital to check to see that there weren't further problems. With bp still high and protein found in my urine I wast told that induction was needed and that it should be done that day since I was past the 37 week mark. After a nearly 48 hour failed induction with absolutely no progress it was decided that a c section was needed as we were coming up on the 24 hour mark since they had broken my water. 10:32 pm Henry was born happy and healthy and in no distress thankfully. He is our sweet little man 6 lb. 4.7 ounces and 18 inches long. Head full of blonde hair an big beautiful blue eyes. It was all worth it for him!
Waters broke at 4am, went to hospital and was admitted. NOTHING happened for almost 12 hours. Not a single painful contraction. At 3:30pm, Dr. administered cervadil... Mild cramping for an hour and Hard contractions started around 4:30pm. Everything moved so fast, I went from 3cm at 6:30 to 10cm by 7:15. Beautiful baby girl was born by 7:25pm x
I was scheduled to be induced 9/8/15. The entire day before I had been having the worst back pains of my life! Nothing could ease the pains at all! I called up to labor and delivery and they told me it was normal to feel that way at 38weeks with twins. When I went in the next day as scheduled, they were shocked that I was already in labor and hadn't come in sooner! I told them that I called about my symptoms and they told me it was 'Normal'. It turns out that I was experiencing back labor! Because I had already labored at home for over 24 hours, everything seemed to go at lightening speed at the hospital. They started pitocin at 10pm just to speed things up. By 3am I was asking for an epidural. They epidural did not completely work, but I am now counting that as a blessing. 6am I was at 10cm and ready to go! The doctors checked both of the babies positions and there was quite a debate on whether baby B was head down or breech. After about an hour of discussing it, I still opted to attempt vaginal delivery. They took me to an Operating Room to deliver just in case they needed to open me up. I was not expecting to push out two babies in front of 30 people in the OR and all of the students watching from the windows, but I did it!! Total push time of 29 minutes!! I was thankful that my epidural didn't fully work only because if I had pushed harder, I would have torn worse. I only ended up with a 1st degree tear. But after everything, I am just so happy to have both our boys safe and healthy!!
Team green turned Team pink! Name: Scout Hope EDD 9/11 DD 9/9
Woke up Wednesday morning around 3am to Braxton Hicks and went and took a long bath. I laid in bed and passed out but kept waking up to contractions. After a few hours they started getting really strong and the midwife was just going to stop in and see how everything was going. Midwife and doula arrived about 1100 and was shocked how quickly I was progressing since I was a FTM. The contractions started coming so hard that I threw up everything and that ended up slowing my labor down. They IV'ed me 2 bags and I moved to the birth pool. The water was so calming and helped me relax so much. My husband was honestly the most amazing supporter I could have asked for. He stayed calm the entire time and pushed me when I was ready to give up.
Transition was hard and since I was dehydrated my legs and forearms started cramping. I started to push and after not making progress I asked the midwife to break my water bag. It was pretty hard to break and they said I had a lip that was holding baby. They tried to stretch it and that's when I started really pushing. Baby was born and we are so in love! She was 8 pounds and 7 oz! Born 9/9 @ 22:22!!
Baron Michael EDD 09.15 DOB 09.10 8lbs10oz 20.75in
I went to my 39 week appointment yesterday (9/9) and was 3cm. I was miserable and the OB offered an induction due to a history of a big baby. In the meantime, she offered to stretch me to 4cm to see if it would get things going. They had a spot available this morning (9/10), so after laboring through the night I got to the hospital and was already having strong contractions. At 8am they placed the cervadil, by 12:45 I was 7cm so they broke my water. Within an hour I was ready to push. Less than 10 minutes of pushing Baron arrived.
We're so in love. I couldn't be more thankful for how smoothly things went.
Good luck to all the momma's waiting on their little ones!
Mason Grant EDD 9/9/15 Arrived 9/9/15 9lbs 4oz. 20.25 inches
Mason was born at 2:39 via c-section due to his estimated weight from ultrasound completed on Tuesday. Original plan was to induce with gel on Tuesday then follow with pitocin on Wednesday; however after a cervical check that Wednesday morning I still was not favorable. Doctor also felt it would be best to do c-section as opposed to inducing which would risk chances of infection and still no progress. Baby Mason is doing well, and I couldn't feel more blessed than to have given such a wonderful gift.
Lucas Joseph EDD: September 28th Born: September 8th 5lbs 12oz 19.75in.
Got scheduled to be induced for gestational hypertension Monday Sept 7th at 330. Went in got the cervidil put in first for 12 hours, after that was done I was only 2 centimeters dilated so i got pitocin and that started things up. Around noon Tuesday the docs put in the Foley bulb to add to the pitocin. Around 230 I felt like I had to go poop, the contractions were terrible I couldn't even walk. After attempting to poop the doctor decided to check if I dilated any and it was go time! I was at 10 my water had broke when they took out the Foley bulb and after 6-8 pushes baby was in my arms at 3:22 pm. I bled a lot and needed a blood transfusion and baby was border line jaundice but we are both doing much better now and hoping to go home tomorrow
Oh and it was done with no pain meds, and that was not by choice haha
Went to my 39 week appt 9/9 was 1cm dilated and not at all effaced. BP was elevated so I was sent to the hospital for some testing and monitoring. Spent about 3 hours there but they let us go home and put me on complete bed rest! So we stopped and picked up dinner since we were now late getting home and didn't feel like cooking. I went home bathed and went to bed about 10pm. Woke up at 1am because of some slight cramping and also because of a storm and one of my dogs being petrified of thunder. Got her settled. Peed. And laid back down. Woke up at 2:11am because I was cramping some more. Got up to go pee and flooded my bedroom floor leaving a trail to the bathroom. Called to the hubby from the bathroom to turn a light on and get me a towel and told him I thought my water broke. He turned the light on and was like uh yeah you think!? So he called my mom to come over as she was going to the hospital with us. I still wasn't really having contractions so I jumped in the shower to wash that sticky crap off (that ish is gross!!) and of course shave my legs haha mom got there and helped me finish getting my things together and cooked me some eggs so I could eat. Got to the hospital at 4:58am (ironically enough that was almost exactly 12 hours from when we went the previous afternoon(4:57pm)). Was checked and was 2.5 cm 70% effaced. They admitted me. We had to wait in triage for a bit because they didn't have a room!! Had 4 other girls come in during that hour before me...apparently the storm did something to all of us!!! Got in a room about 7. Still only mild contractions til about 9am when they started picking up. Doula arrived about 10. Checked me at 10:30 and I was 4cm. Bounced on the ball a bit. Tried a bunch of other positions trying to get baby to rotate as he was sunnyside up and causing some killer back labor! Around 12:30 I started shaking really bad so they checked me and I was 7cm 90%. Stayed up walking around and on the ball. By 3pm I was 10cm and 95%. They helped stretch that last 5% as I started pushing. Pushed for 45 minutes and baby arrived!!! It was honestly the hardest thing I have ever done but I would do it all again tomorrow if I had to. It was so worth it!!! All in all I think for a first baby with completely unmedicated natural delivery it went very well!! Only 13.5 hours total from when water broke to delivery. And only 6-7 of that from when contractions started. Doctor did cut a small amount to help as baby was still not rotated at time to push and I got a few stitches but I preferred that to tearing which they said I would have torn quite badly. Also later found out that the cord was wrapped around his neck and knotted but doc was great...didn't make a big deal just reached in and slipped it off over his head and I didn't even know what happened! I am just so in awe of this little boy...I can't even sleep because I just want to sit here and stare at him!! I love him so much already!!! Daddy also did wonderfully and was amazingly helpful! In addition to having mom and doula there and some AMAZING nurses I couldn't have asked for a better team!
Had a scheduled c section due to baby b being breech and larger. Arrived Thursday morning around 930 for an 1130 c section but due to an emergency, was pushed back to a little after one. Everything went smoothly and we are absolutely in love with them! William had some temperature and blood sugar issues but all is well now. Tandem breastfeeding and pumping after. One of them always seems disinterested during a feeding but we are getting a hang of things.
Isaac James EDD: 9/17 Scheduled c-section/born: 9/10 9 lbs 3 oz 20 3/4"
Came in for the scheduled c-section very scared. The worst part was getting the spinal, I think the anesthesiologist made a mistake or two and the pain was awful. But once the injection was through it was pretty smooth. At one point I was told they were starting and I would have never known if they didn't tell me.

Anna-Marie Kathleen EDD 9/8 Arrived via C section on September 3 @5:29pm. 8lbs 1oz and 21 inches. I was admitted on 9/1 after ob appt and my blood pressure was slightly higher than my doctor was comfortable with. Started with Cerdevil (spelling?), then a catheter to help me dialate, and finally pitocin/breaking my water. After all that I never got pass 4cm. Doctor scheduled my C section at 5p on the 3rd. I was upset, but after 43 hours of consistent contractions without any real progression I was ready. The best bonus of all of this my little girl was born on my birthday! I get to share my birthday with her and I couldn't feel more blessed!

Had an unmediated hospital birth with no interventions. Came in at 7 cm, three hours later my waters POPPED and my body started pushing on its own. After only about 20 minutes of pushing, doctor let me catch her myself. I didn't tear and she's latching like a champ already. The only problem I had was delivering the placenta which took about an hour but doc was patient and didn't press Pitocin on me. We are smitten and I can't wait for our two year old to come meet her sister!
For all those planning an unmediated birth, YOU CAN DO IT!!! I've done it twice and it is SO worth it. Good luck!

We went in to be checked after hours of contractions. While at the dr, they got way worse. The nurse came in to check me and said we'd have her today. I freaked but sure enough, they wheeled me over to L&D and the flurry began. An hour later we were holding Miss Adalynn Grace Danille Thomas. Because she was breech, she was born via c-section and the process was awesome!

On Thursday, September 4 I decided to stay home from work because the previous day I had a headache and was very swollen. When I went to the doctor she said the baby was very low and I was contracting. Jump ahead to Thursday evening at 8 pm when those contractions began to intensify. I started timing them, they were averaging between 3-5 mins apart and becoming increasingly more painful. After about an hour and a half I went to use the bathroom and felt several small gushes and saw that there was no urine in the toilet. I called my doctor and she suggested I came into the hospital. Once there I got all hooked up and was given an epidural at about 1:30, I progressed from 3 cm to 8 cm in under an hour. We were in active labor and ready to push by 2:30. Our little miss out up quite a fight and we needed to vacuum her out. She was born at 3:19 am and I was instantly in love!
Water broke at 6:40 am, was only displayed 1 centimeter. GBS+ so headed straight to hospital for antibiotics. Baby was still high. Started induction to help dilation. Got epidural. My blood pressure went up and got dizzy almost passed out so they stopped induction meds, lower meds in epidural pick, gave me another medication and oxygen. At first baby's heart rate would drop during contractions. Doctor thought we were going to have to do emergency c-section. I became stable again and they started induction meds again. Started positioning me with the peanut between my legs. Low and behold, contractions came stronger, started dilating and baby was born at 7:12 pm after a few pushes. Baby is beautiful & perfect and definitely all worth it.

My water broke this morning at 7:45, although it was a small amount and I thought maybe I was leaking urine. Wasn't feeling any contractions, decided to wait it out because I've been sent home from triage 3 times. My mom started to highlight my hair, and when I got out of the chair I felt a large wave of fluid. Showered, did my makeup and then headed to triage. Still no contractions. They admitted me at 12, I was 5 cm and then contractions started. I had a "high" break which means the sac was still over her head and that's why I was having waves of fluid rather than one large gush. I progressed extremely quick, and by the time I got the epidural I was at a 9 and it was too late. I felt EVERYTHING.

In a snap shot : So so painful but super fast . I woke up Around 3 AM with contractions 15 min apart and they told Me I couldn't come in until 5 min apart ,lasting a min for one hr. Of course I couldn't sleep through any of them . So at 8 am I took a 3 mile walk and by the time I got half way home from the park they started full force at 5 min apart . Went to doctor at 11 was 3cm told me to get checked in an hr at triage . Got to Hospital and triage rooms were full for almost 2 hrs so I walked the halls - I was determined not to go home without my baby. finally got checked an was 6 cm ! so they admited me right away . Hubby got here around 2 after admission and he he was born at 556 all natural . Hardest thing I've ever done ! So Glad to have my supporting hubby and amazing nurse ! She truly kept me Going .

EDD: 9/10
Born: 9/4

Funny story: we walked through the door with Carter, and then we looked at each other after a few minutes and said, "Now what!!?" Since I was overdue, I was supposed to be induced the next day.

Good luck mamas!! You can do this!!

Came in for the scheduled c-section very scared. The worst part was getting the spinal, I think the anesthesiologist made a mistake or two and the pain was awful. But once the injection was through it was pretty smooth. At one point I was told they were starting and I would have never known if they didn't tell me.
Isaac is big and beautiful and perfect!

Arrived via C section on September 3 @5:29pm.

She was born at 3:19 am and I was instantly in
love!

Don't know how to post a pic but I'll try.

In a snap shot :
So so painful but super fast . I woke up
Around 3 AM with contractions 15 min apart and they told
Me I couldn't come in until 5 min apart ,lasting a min for one hr. So
Glad to have my supporting hubby and amazing nurse ! She truly kept me
Going .
Good luck mommas ! You got this !
