Crazy kids names in real life

Pregnancy insomnia has hit. So I'm gonna start a thread....

What are some of the craziest names you have heard in real life for people's kids?

We know a family with three boys named Fox, Jaguar, and Tiger. I also know a little girl named Jornee. Two names for boys that I know and can't stand are McCoy and a Coy.

  • I dated a guy from a really small town and they were big on different names. He had friends named Easy, Branch, and Silver. There was more but those are the only ones I can think of right now.

I subbed at a school where there was a boy named Sir and his brother was Mister!
  • There's a boy in my sons class named maverick. I also know an adult man whose name is harmony.
  • I know a little girl named Falcon. I used to substitute teach and there was a girl named Stetson in one of my classes.
  • I went to middle school with a Bud Wiser (first and last name) and dh was talking to someone who names her kids Thor and Lightening.
  • I know someone who almost named her daughter first name Allana last name Dicks....poor girl would have got teased so much. They ended up with Alexis instead.
  • Barella...
    Ryden....
Made up names just irk me, those have been the strangest I e heard in real life though.
  • Working at a Drs office I come
across a lot, there were music teachers with quads named Harmony, Lyric, Melody and Rhapsody....on their own some aren't bad, but as a group not so sure. We also had triplets Holly Molly and Dolly last name Wood.
  • @AGMeeks -- I've also met an Awesome! that's definitely in the top strangest names for me. About to get an enrollment list for a summer academy- can't wait to scope out the names for some gems!
  • Candy Cane. Mary Christmas. I kid you not.
  • From college, Misty Rain. Also a girl from elementary school was named Princess. I went to school with a girl named Robin. Not bad on it's own, but her last name was Robinson. Robin Robinson. Unfortunate.

Cookie and Lavender are the craziest I can think of right now.
  • I feel like I'm reading about storybook characters!! Geez louise! My favorite so far is Mystry Misty Moonbeam Faith who had a sister named Rachel. Oh the sibling rivalry!

We have two kids in our area named Lucky and Seven.

I have a cousin named holly wood! I didn't think that was a thing anyone but my crazy aunt did!
  • I know a girl that named her daughter Zayleigh. Another who named her boys Maverick and Archer.
  • My mother in law is an elementary school teacher in a very low income urban area. She has had some gems!

From two different non-english speaking families she had baby girl and female (fem-all-ee). They both just went with the default not understanding what it meant.

She has also had Obama and her sister Mandela.

My sister is a teenager and also has some good ones. Her friend's name is Wednesday and she has a brother Pugsley.
  • I went to school with a Remington Steel. And recently met a baby named Sunny Rae.
  • I know someone who just named their baby Monty and I feel like if he doesn't constantly wear a tiny white and blue sailor suit or own a yacht that his name just won't fit:(
  • I remembered some more. Siblings: Binky George Washington, Tyty, Sassy, and Tetris (like the video game). A girl from high school named Barbie Skipper.

Also at my nephew's preschool there is a little boy named Mateo (Muh-tay-oh). Not really a weird name in itself, but none of his little classmates can pronounce it and they call him "Potato." I thought the poor boy's name was Potato forever.
  • I've heard of a La-a; apparently you pronounce the dash, so it's "Ladasha."
  • Oh, also a baby names Cortana Yvette (apparently Cortana is a character in Halo, and that's how the parents met or something, at a party), and they wanted to be able to nickname her Corvette by combining the names. That was one of those that I couldn't quite hide my shock right at first. And where it doesn't seem like the parents really thought about their baby as a person who had to grow up with that name.
  • I know a little girl named Rayne, and I used to have a female customer whose name was pronounced Chandelier. I have no idea how it was spelled, though.
  • The ones that stick out for me are Abcde (Absidee), Rainbow, Cinderella, and Nevaeh. I also can't stand the name Destiny...it's a carnival cruise ship not a kid's name. Just my personal preference.
  • I taught a little girl name Special. That's not too bad, but her last name was Payne.

You have to be careful with last names.
  • Working at a doctors office a kid named pistol!!

One of DH's friends is Justin Payne. I thought it was his artist name- he is a tattoo artist and piercer. Kinda fitting, right? Nope, that's his real name.

Thank goodness my cousins, whose last name is Payne, decided on Bradley and Trevyn.
