Yes, London absolutely can be more expensive; I thought it was quite clear that I was referring to within the boundaries of the United States of America.

Despite that, I have lived in Geneva. I have also lived in Marbella & depending upon exchange rates, these can be very expensive as well. Obviously Hawaii would be included on my list within the United States, however I was giving an updated list based on the most recent data. Real estate is more than just a hobby for me.

All of this considered, it depends on which section of the cities you are living in. There are definitely two bedroom condominiums in Boston that will set you back way over $2 million. It depends upon the neighborhood and the quality of your home.

Try buying a villa in Capri, Italia. That's nearly impossible and will cost you as much as anything in London. You should add that to Monaco etc.

My UO for the week: I I do not think high school graduation is that big of a deal. I teach high school - we DO ALL WE POSSIBLY CAN to get those students to graduate. You have to legit try hard to screw up in order to not graduate. I even think the admin goes too far sometimes and let's students get a diploma when it is undeserved. So I spent all morning "celebrating" the senior class who worked "sooo hard" to get out of HS.... Eh, I am not impressed. Get back to me when you get your doctorate. Also, I hope this doesn't make people think I don't care about my students. They are great people and I can't wait for them to do awesome things in the world. I just don't think their ability to meet some very basic requirements requires all this celebrating and back patting and hoopla.

I'm an Administrator for the office of admissions at a university and one big issue I find is that a lot of parents do EVERYTHING for their child. So much that when they start class, they are lost. Also, when we deny students, the parents get upset at us. What is that teaching your child? You can't always get what you want especially if you do not work for it. I can go on and on but I will refrain.

This grinds my gears, too. My parents expected my sister and I to graduate high school..and college, too, for that matter so there was no hoopla.

I was so jealous of the kids in my class that got cars as gifts for graduating high school, when I had a raggedy '93 ford tempo that I bought myself. I don't know if that's always been a thing, or if it's one of those entitled millennial things. (Like graduation ceremonies for almost every grade...what's up with that!?)

But in the end, I appreciated my little hoopty-mobile. :)

Here it goes, my UO is that I can't stand fit people who look down on others for not following their lifestyle. Yes we should all exercise regularly and eat healthy, no all of us don't want to be runners and fitness freaks! 10 posts a day every day of your WOD and your macro counts and your workout gear and your fit body and your morning run annoys me!

    Here is a dangerous one....

My UO is that I think that women should be aware of breastfeeding in public and make every effort to be discreet. Not necessarily going into a gross bathroom to breastfeed or anything, but when you are in public, cover up.

Yep, that's a dangerous one. Wait until you try to cover up a baby trying to nurse who does everything possible to take the cover off. Plus it can be hot and stuffy under a cover, so covering up isn't always an option. Sometimes covering the baby up brings more attention to the situation than not. By the way, it's hard enough to try to nurse in public without someone coming at you telling you to cover up.

@Melissadmag they made it illegal in Hawaii to smoke with in 20 feet of any restaurant (at least I think that's the law hehe). It's awesome!!!! Now if they would stop allowing those stupid E-Cigs! I swear sometimes it's like eating lunch next to a freaking dragon!!

So thinking about porn and strip clubs made me think of something else that may be unpopular... But in a board full of women who are mostly in relationships, I'm not sure how unpopular it will be.... I do not believe in sex addiction. I hate that now people can be completely gross, and sleep with prostitutes and give their wives stds, and then say, I have a disease- I'm a sex addict. No, you're effing disgusting. Edit to take out my swear word ;)
REALLY though. When women cheat and lie and run around, do you think FOR ONE HOT SECOND we get the same mental-health consideration? I promise you, we don't.

The ironic thing is that back in the day, the only gender believed to be predisposed to sex addiction WAS WOMEN. We were called nymphomaniacs if we dared to enjoy sex as much as men.

So basically, to sum up, we're sex addicts if it can be used to make us feel bad. But we're just sluts if we get caught doing the typical "sex addict" behaviour.

I'm confused. Ecigs are not smoke. They're essentially steam. They contain no secondhand poison.

I get not wanting smokers around you when you're eating but this just seems like somebody saying "I got my own way and refuse to compromise. I don't like that they depend on this so i'm going to do my best to ruin it for anybody who doesn't do what i do"

Sorry. But ecigs aren't hurting you.

My UO is that smoking should be banned from eating places inside and outside as well. It drives me up the wall crazy when it's finally a beautiful day and I want to go have a delicious meal at a nice restaurant and enjoy the wonderful weather but low and behold it is ruined because the other people that get put outside are the smokers and they destroy the meal and the great time because now instead of it being enjoyable it is absolutely miserable inhaling their disgusting smoke. I know smokers have rights to enjoy their time and meal as well, but geeze, be a little considerate of the people around you who don't want cigarette flavored lunches just because you're addicted to something so much that you can't just wait half an hour to light up. hmph! lol. In a perfect world there wouldn't be cigarettes period, but especially where people are eating.
Where do you live where people are allowed to smoke cigarettes in a restaurant?

I mean on the street outside the restaurant, you're SOL. But on the property? I thought everywhere in the west had banned this

(Not china. I was there for a month a couple of years ago. Restaurants are blue with smoke)

Oh I know they aren't hurting me. I just find them annoying. A lot of people smoke them and I know some of them are trying to do it because it's better for them then cigarettes are. I just personally don't like them.

Edited to say: Also I'm not one of those people that tells some one else what they can and cannot do around me in a public situation. If I have a big enough problem with it I will remove myself. I don't expect them to stop just because I don't like it.

My understanding is research is just beginning on the health effects of e-cigs but the general consensus is they are still tobacco and likely will be regulated as a tobacco product in several states. I can't stand them, my opinion is just because they don't stink doesn't mean the vaper should be able to exhale the "steam" wherever they please. I don't want that crap exhaled in my face!

@groovylocks appreciate your edit, I agree the best solution is to remove self from those uncomfortable situations. Not trying to stir up drama, but e-cigs seem like such a question mark right now. Ready for some more research before I trust them!

@duckinoven I think you might actually be referring to my edit because that was my response to @groovylocks. For some reason not all of the previous response got put in another color. But I'm not sure... This site confuses me.
On a side note I love the explanation of both of your names on the other thread. :)

They are not tobacco. It's nicotine. And the vapor doesn't affect you. If anything, It's humidifying the room. Vapor has no affect on you. Science.

I live in Vegas. People aren't allowed to smoke in restaurants (with the exception of some bars that you can order food at) I was more talking about the outside patio areas of restaurants where you get served the food outside. Some restaurants are indoors, with an outdoor option, and people are allowed to smoke on the outside areas regardless of the fact that food is being served there as well.

Melissadmag Where do you live where smoking in restaurants isn't illegal? I live in IN and even we have that. Unfortunately, bars are still not smoke free and can't buy booze on Sundays :(

Who me? No I replied to the right person. @duckinoven said that e cigs are tobacco product. Which is absolutely false.

The vapor does contain small amounts of heavy metals from the cartridges. That's science. It isn't harmless, by any means, though certainly a crapton better than cigarettes.

    ETA: like 90something% better

I don't think true e cig smokers use cartridges anymore. I know I use glass, we've moved way passed cartridges! I was saying vapor does not affect a person in a room next to someone smoking vapor.

Eta: it would affect them if there is a nasty scent though! I say nasty because that shit stinks!! Mine has no scent. Also, I would never use my e cig in a room that's not mine or in someone's house.

@satindawl83 I hate anchorman too, it is so rude towards women, I wish I could like your post more than once!

@erikaalzet  HGTV “Love it or List it” the people in big houses who think NEED much bigger house because they have no room but they still have baby swing etc. when their youngest is 11 years old!   I don’t get the cult obsession with Friends either.

My unpopular opinion is that I can't stand when people use GIFS in threads when they are responding to a heated topic or using them to be dismissive to another poster. It just appears catty and immature.

I completely recognize that I will now get a GIF in response to this. I will probably laugh at it.
Yes!! I think it's so childish and unhelpful. I honesty just don't care for GIFs or memes. I have always thought they were stupid and never got on that bandwagon.

@Marchmellow2 it isn't bad at all. Just funny as hell. I'm grateful for this board being that all my shows recently finished for the season. Constant source of entertainment.

UO- Why do people need homes that are 1500+ sq. ft.? Who is cleaning all that house? Furnishing and heating all that house! This seems to be a suburban thing. I am not talking tiny house revolution or anything, but I feel like most American suburbs have homes that are TOO DAMN BIG.

Haha this is funny UO. I sometimes wonder the same thing. Our house is 1800 square feet and it seems small to us. My husband's parent's house is 5000 square feet and the house I grew up in was about 4000. So 1800 seems like nothing. Yet, cleaning it is still a challenge. Both of our parents have cleaning ladies. So I guess that can answer your question about who is cleaning it! I wish we could afford a cleaning lady. But I don't work, so I guess that's my job ;)
