I am a physical therapist who does school based pediatrics and all kinds of geriatrics (SNF, LTC, ALF, etc.). I hope to work as long as I can but I have limited protection (still required to lift a lot, lucky to get a bathroom break, etc.) so I'm not sure if I'll be able to work, up until my due date (8/29). The schools are also getting unbearably hot and I'm not sure how I'll be able to handle summer school. I'm concerned about returning and finding time to pump (I'm technically contracted or self employeed so I don't get the normal protections or lighter duties that full time staff is granted).
I am a NICU nurse and I plan on working up until I go into labor. I will take a 12 week leave. My dream is to be a SAHM, but right now we just can't afford it. *sigh* Someday hopefully!
Environmental scientist. I will work up to 6 weeks before my due date and take a year off from there. (In Australia we can take a year unpaid with same job guaranteed on return).
I'm an Audiologist. I'm actually startimg a new job in 2 weeks! This job is a Godsend bc the benefits are outstanding and will go into effect on my start date! Before we had a high deductible plan and were looking at over $10k out of pocket! It's been such a relief. Planning to work up until she's born if possible.
I'm a professor at a private university. Semester ended two weeks ago. I am doing some of my own research this summer and will stop whenever I don't feel I can write anymore. I am taking the fall semester off and will return to teaching in January.
I'm an elementary teacher but also have a degree in Instructional Technology. I would like to get out of the elementary classroom and pursue something in that field eventually (technology coach, college prof, etc.)
My last day is THIS FRIDAY! My maternity leave starts when next school year begins and I will return in October.
I'm a support specialist for a major internet company. It's an office job with great benefits. I have up to a month off before my EDD that is use it or lose it and then I'll be officially on maternity leave for 5 months after the due date.
I'm a dog groomer, I just this week decided to stop doing big dogs. I'm going off 3 weeks before since it's just getting too hard wrestling dog and being on my feet for 9 hours with this big belly.
SAHM and volleyball coach. Between school and club I coach 3 seasons each year. I actually took the spring season off this year because I am high risk and didn't want anything to happen on the long tournament days. Trying to decide if I am crazy enough to return for the next school season which starts 3 days after my due date!
I'm an office manager in a primary care office. I will work until baby makes her arrival. I'm hoping to take 8 weeks off but it's all unpaid so hopefully my savings account can allow for that!
RN on a trauma floor in a Children's hospital. I'm scheduling myself a week past my due date. These 12 hour shifts are getting hard on my back so I'll do more 8's towards the end!
I'm a nicu nurse and plan on working until little girl comes. Although 12 hour night shifts are getting harder and harder! Good thing my patients are only a couple of pounds!
I am a research scientist at a medical school. Due August 29th. Working until due date then 6 weeks maternity leave followed by 2-3 months working from home to finish research papers. After that I hope to find a less demanding more family friendly career
I work for an answering service. (Don't strangle me!) I enter call schedules but have done everything. I currently work from home and also live about 5 blocks from the hospital where I'll deliver so I plan on working as long as I can. I'm planning on going back after about 8 wks or so. I'm due 8/20 so I'll be back before the winter holiday craziness starts.
I'm a 4th grade teacher, due August 29th. The school year ended last week, but we are on a year-round schedule so teachers report back July 14th. I will be having a c-section, so I'll work until the time comes. I plan to return in mid-October after Fall Break.
I'm a hairdresser. I'm taking a month off before bubs is due and then go back about 10 hours a week after 6 mths. In NZ we get 16 weeks paid maternity leave and our jobs are guaranteed to stay open for us until a year after the birth.
I was a first grade teacher up until Friday because the school year ended and now I'm going to be a stay at home mommy! I am incredibly blessed to be able to do so, it's definitely been a dream of mine for years. I'm sure I'll miss my career as it was a true passion of mine but will never regret the extra time spent with my children!
I'm a partner at a mid-size law firm. Plan to "work" until baby is born but likely will do most of that from home the last few weeks. No paid maternity leave so 4-6 weeks off then probably equal amount working from home after that.
Construction manager at a small construction company. I originally planned to work up until my due date, but me and my husband decided that we are going to go the stay at home mom route. I am planning to depart from the company a month before i'm due.
Corporate accountant. I'd like work through the end of June/first week of July. I'll work as long as I am comfortable. My c section will be in the first few days of August. Taking 12 weeks FMLA and 8 weeks of that is paid. Will make the decision on going back after that.
Mom to one in heaven. Mom to one here on Earth.

Dialysis RN. My last day of work was 4/18. Got injured on the job and on workman's comp till disability for pregnancy kicks in ... I don't plan on going back to work or dialysis once my baby is born. Infact, I plan on not going back till my baby starts school. When she does, I really want to go back to nights on ICU. Day time work and dialysis just aren't "my thing " anymore. But who knows. Maybe I'll go back to school to get my MSN and become a NP. Those are sort of my plans anyways...
I am a customer service manager for a captive auto finance company. I have been there 12 years (tomorrow!) and so I get a lot of great benefits. I have been working from home since I was put on modified bed rest in March, and will probably stop working after this month, since we will deliver somewhere between June 23 and July 25 (31-34 weeks). I plan on taking the full 12 weeks of disability I am offered and then burning 3 of my remaining 4 weeks of vacation, which would put me out between 3 and 4 months.
With my two previous kiddos, I worked right up until they were born (literally left work at 11:30 am to deliver my second at 9pm, same day...) and I wont do that again. This one will also be a planned C-section, so I will have a bit of advanced warning. Maybe just a day or two, but that is a little better than 10 hours
I'm a children's book author! Right now my middle grade nonfiction series is three books, hoping to sign a fourth soon: first is out on stores (Famous Phonies), second is at typesetter debuting Jan 2016, third I'm currently writing (hoping to finish as much before baby) and my draft is due Jan 2016 as well. I work on my novel on the weekends and in the evenings. I plan on working through pregnancy and as soon after delivery as possible. A week? No idea how long I'll need to recover. I might be delusional about the work. At least I know my deadlines now!
I stay at home right now (work with my husband and travel with him for work) but former kindergarten teacher! I was going to go back to teaching (or at least sub) but then found out I had no immunity or measles and rubella so my OB said absolutely not!
I'm a Case Manager I work with people with intellectual disability. I'm planning to work until I'm due unfortunately FMLA doesn't protect me to take 3 months off /: my boss only granted me for 6 weeks off
I take care of adults with disabilities and do a lot of driving to get them to and from programs and their houses. I'm due august 18th and will work up until I go into labor and can only afford a 6 week leave. I'm also in school right now trying to get my social work degree
