Woke up today and my body feels physically better, but am soooo sleepy. Between naps and off and on sleep, I got about 12 hours of sleep in the past 24, though.
Not complaining, in fact very grateful that my only issue is sleepiness today. Just fascinated I could still be sleepy after all that!
Also, new trick: rolling out of bed and into the tub. My new morning routine til baby gets here. Why did I not think of this before?!
reading that last part.. i honestly pictured a very pregnant woman sleeping on a futon beside a bathtub. and literally rolling off of it into a bubble bath. which.. sounds quite nice, except for the water displacement that would occur and flood the place.
I ate too much candy and my tummy hates me. I really need to hide the junk food from myself.
This is me. I have a sweet tooth under normal circumstances and pregnancy has given me an excuse to indulge (baby needs candy, too! )
Baby DOES need candy, too. But not anymore today. I had to go and put it away, out of easy reach, and I'm waiting for my stomach to make some room and then I'm gonna have myself some vegetables.
I've been having a lot of contractions the past few days but I can't tell if they're BH or the real thing. Just when they start to develop a pattern they stop. Everyone says you'll know when it's the real thing but I'm afraid that I won't know!
And I've got a serious sweet tooth too. I'm almost through an entire box of popsicles that I only opened yesterday.
Survived a family cookout for my nephew's birthday without killing anyone. My original due date was tomorrow and my contractions have come and gone all week. Everybody asked 10 times when she was coming and suggested castor oil....NO!!! I don't need more stomach issues. One of my husband's aunts got particularly offended that we didn't want her or other extended family at the hospital when she's born, even though we politely explained our plans. DH has told everybody I'm going to want time to rest and don't need anymore advice at the moment because I'm super exhausted and stressed but it keeps coming from the family.
No castor oil! Those crazy people. A) it's disgusting diarrhea The end! Those ladies always have suggestions!!!!!
THANK YOU! I literally said that 10 times. I've been sick since the day I got pregnant between vomiting, diarrhea, and just general indigestion so I don't need any help there. The family has had nothing but scheduled csections in recent history so they're driving me nuts with asking when exactly she will be here.
Pigging out on $1.49 chicken nuggets from Mcds and red velvet poptarts. They are the most incredible poptarts ever made.
I'm sore. Cranky. SO SWOLLEN. thought I'd miss that aspect. Haha NOT. Keep having dreams I'm breastfeeding and pumping and I can actually feel it. 29 days left, although I'm secretly trying to reason with DD to come sooner.
Red Velvet poptarts!?! I had a little obsession with poptarts earlier in my 3rd trimester. I would wake up every night at 4am on the dot and go have a pack of poptarts (part of the reason I now have ants in my room). I did this for at least a month. I wish I had known about red velvet poptarts then!
They are new! limited edition! I'm considering buying up all walmarts stock!! NOM NOM NOM!!!
I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow and I had to leave work and hour after I got there because I just felt so off. I've been lightheaded and nauseous. My little baby isn't making this last month stretch easy at all. Hopefully I can make it through a full day of work tomorrow. I have 3 days left before my last day and I'm trying to make it through.
I hope the symptom isn't a humblebrag but after so much insomnia, I've slept so much the past 2 days. Sleeping in and napping during the day! And less pee breaks. I can't explain it - and I'm still having all kinds of other sucky normal symptoms - but I'm thankful right now. DH thinks it's that I'm too anxious during the work week since I have to be up early, which could be it.
I was also a wreck today bc LO hadn't moved in a few hours but I think she was just sleepy too and now she's wriggling.
I've been cranky all day. Seriously almost lost my shit in Walmart when DS decided to run away from me while having a temper tantrum. Watching a fat pregnant girl run in flip flops is not pleasant...being THAT fat pregnant woman is even less pleasant. Finally caught up to him and strapped his unhappy ass in a cart for a ride out to the car.
Oh I also have a sweet tooth. Just finished a bowl of strawberries, vanilla ice cream, and angel food cake. Angel food cake is fat free so totally guilt free and the fruit and calcium from ice cream...it's basically health food. Lol =P~
Forgot to add: glad you are going home today @devyns2nd! We were worried about you. Hope you have a smooth end to your pregnancy.
I carried three grocery bags in the house today and burst into tears thinking how hard it's going to be with a baby in tow. I can't control the emotions not can I control my hot flashes! I'm always hot, it's so hard to get up from sitting down. I hit 36 weeks today, I'm a FTM and up until now I've had the best experience!! I've only gained 7 lbs, I've been working out and I've had energy. Until this weekend. Four more weeks...praying she cooks well but I wouldn't mind an early 38-39 week appearance! Come out and relieve mommy!
So, soooo tired. But having trouble sleeping at night. Ugh. Keep waiting for this nesting burst of energy that's supposed to happen, but I feel more like I'm back in the 1st tri. Hungry all the time, but not all food settles well, having crazy reflux issues. Joints starting to hurt more.
Trying not to complain because I'm so thankful baby is full term and we're both healthy with no risk factors, as far as they know. Around 36 weeks I started to feel nostalgic about pregnancy already, it had been so good and such a special time, wasn't ready for it to be over... still so thankful to have had such a great experience, but glad to be reaching the end now!
Caught a cold...it started with a sore throat last week, and all weekend it's been a full-blown cold with lots of sneezing, congestion and runny nose. I've been staying away from cold meds and just trying to elevate my head and drink hot beverages when the nasal symptoms become unbearable. Although today is Memorial Day, I have to work. Woke up around 3:30 am and couldn't get back to sleep. Although it sucks to have to work with a cold and at 36 weeks pregnant, I'm trying to tell myself it's actually going to be better than staying home since it will take my mind off my symptoms. When I stay home all day sick I can't get comfortable and it's boring & lonely. So yay for being able to make some money I guess, no matter how miserable I feel.
So.much.cramping. I feel like I am having one long cramp session. Woke up a couple times in the middle of the night with painful contractions. And had a couple before i went to bed. Now this morning just constant cramping. Been laying in bed for an hour with them not stoppinh. Have has tons of unusual dishcharge too the last few days. Almost was starting to think it was my water trickling out... had my 2nd baby shower yesterday and felt super sick to my stomach the whole time. Only 38+2 but hoping she comes soon. All this cramping is getting to me. Going to go shopping with my mom today. Hoping the walking around will get things moving.
@heidiiwa ugh, so sorry you're sick! I was sick a while back and dealt with that crumminess for too long. Too long! Such a drag. Hope your cold away soon
For myself, not sleeping well still. Hips hurt from trying to sleep when I lay on my sides. My back hurts. Same old same old. Not getting impatient yet but am working my way around to being grateful its getting close so I can begin to not feel like an old lady anymore. Yes, I know I'll have all new aches and pains, but they'll be *different* aches and pains. And, I'll be able to stretch out on my stomach finally so that I can stretch my spine. Have DH apply some pressure from behind... Right there in the middle below my shoulder blades... Oh, won't that feel nice!?
Had an 'oh snap' moment when I saw myself on the l&d watchlist over in the pregnant over 35 board. Sh!t just got real
Woke up around 4:30 this morning having cramping every 7-10 min. I've had diarrhea three times and started seeing mucus plug stuff. Currently 3-4 min apart and about to head up to the hospital. I hope this isn't a false alarm!! DD (8yo) is scared but can't explain why. She was watching me time contractions and asked if it was a test for the baby lol. I'm more worried about her than having this little guy!
Baby girl has been in a transverse position. These days I can't tell what position she is in, feels like she is everywhere! I'm hoping the increase in pelvic pain I feel all day might mean she is heading in the right direction. I'm anxious about the possibility of needing a c-section because of her positioning. Have been reading more about them so I am better prepared if it happens.
I have had a lot of pain in my left hip for the last week. Because of that, walking and getting things done has been hard. Some back pain, possibly contractions on and off. Usually at night. My feet and legs feel a little swollen now. And I'm so congested, it's awful! And I have become a snorer...my lungs have run out of room. Turning over in bed is a process. I pee when I sneeze more regularly. Constipation has cleared up though! And baby girl's kicks and punches actually hurt sometimes. She is getting strong!
So.... I walked into my moms basement today and her cat likes to pee everywhere. I stepped onto the floor and slipped and fell onto the concrete floor. My stomach hurts a little bit, but I am sitting here drinking water. Counting babies movement, c section is scheduled for June 2.
Oh my gosh, be careful! Time those movements, and don't be afraid to be that girl and call your doc if you're worried!
I'm feeling slightly more pelvic pressure today, and I've been running back and forth to the bathroom all morning. However, I'm pretty sure baby still hasn't dropped so I'm not looking into it too much. I'm also pretty crampy, but I think that might be bathroom-related; I've definitely had more painful period cramps than this so I highly doubt it's labor pains.
DH is going absolutely crazy with anticipation. He's been saying he wants LO here "today" since the beginning of April (which would've been much earlier than preferred!), and now he's just bursting with excitement! Every day he asks me, "Do you think she'll be here today?" Today I told him, "She will be here in the next three weeks. I personally don't think today, or even tomorrow. But at some point in the next three weeks she'll be here." I totally get how he feels because I'm getting antsy too, but repeating myself is getting a bit annoying!
I feel like every bit of suck I've felt this weekend is all in the 'normal' range. My doctor laughed at me when I called this morning about some blood (from the lady cave) and contractions. I was concerned, he basically said it was just going to be my life for the next few weeks. Buutttt contractions while trying to start/finish thank you notes is the worst. Half of my letters look like their crying or something. Yuck.

Hehe. Butt contractions. I'm like an 8 year old boy.
Baby keeps turning from OA to OP and it's really frustrating me. I spent all morning scrubbing floors/walls again on my hands and knees to try and get it to turn because that worked last time. I see a lot of scrubbing in my next 2 weeks future...
Every BH I get gets a thumbs up from me. I had some back pain yesterday with them and I was really into any notion of increasing intensity without actual labor happening. I am all for as many practice contractions as possible, hopefully when it's time my body will be like LETS FUCKING DO THIS and blast a baby out (wishful thinking, no?)
Other than that, my dog got loose yesterday at my parents and was in the neighbors yard...Bichons have a habit of "blitzing" when they're running which is running at super-dog speed and thinking you're playing (aka not listening to commands). So that was fun trying to catch him. And knowing that if he went in the road he'd be dead since he chases cars and that's how he lost his leg made me freak out -- my BP was probably through the roof. For a 3 legged dog he is a speedy son of a gun.
Off to a picnic today and I am beyond pumped because the hosts own a catering company and make the most amazing food. YES!
Glad I have this diary to post my ramblings in >- hope those that are off are having a good day of remembrance, and those that are at work, I'M SORRY!!!!!

Wait, what were you hoping for? I'm confused. Did you just want her to be more excited?
Re: Weekend symptoms thread. Swollen, tired, crampy, or cranky? If you're feeling it post it HERE!!!
