This is a great article. Culture can dictate what names are chosen. So if this post is saying anything that is not "Anglo" is "weird" or "odd" perhaps those people should read this article.
A lot of these "awful" names are cultural. Mercedes and Cuauhtemoc are both pretty common names here in Mexico. K versus C names are typically spelled differently based on country of origen. There are some names that we wouldnt choose for our own babies... but I almost feel like the Bump isn't the place to judge names. We are already stressing enough... now I am afraid to find the names we have chosen on the worst baby name thread...
I hope you're not offended. I started this thread to lighten things up and to throw out names like Candlestick or Abcde, not cultural names or familiar ones. Also, If it's beautiful to you you should just go for it!
