Congrats to you! I'm 39 and am 6 weeks+. God willing, I'll be 40 when Baby arrives. It's great seeing "older" moms on different boards (I'm usually lurking on TTGP).
yep. This is my 8th baby. I am 42. I also had a baby at 40. Another at 38 (a few months from 39 so close to 39) and a bunch before that too. Many of my pregnancies were on my first or second ovulation post having the previous baby (I breastfeed exclusively and don't get a period back from quite some time). No special helps or interventions needed.
Wow! I am just amazed at all the moms out there that have been able to get pregnant naturally. It's so wonderful to hear this! Have any of you had any complications with these pregnancies due to your age?
None so far for me. Was just really tired in the first trimester and, now that I am in the third, the tiredness is returning. Not sure if that is age-related or not, but oh well.
No complactions here blood pressure has in past risisn in last few weeks and stays high after the birth for a couple of weeks but i have manged to avoid medication each time (just). This has happened each child since i was 28 so not really an age issue just my body i think.
I'm 37. I've been pregnant 6 times. I have 2 kids at home. I have always needed a kick start to my O. I've always been on femara or clomid or something. It's always taken some time and a lot of monitoring. This time.. apparently not! We got pregnant without even trying. In fact, we thought we were done having kids and had actually come to terms with that. God had different plans I guess. Because here we are with number 3.. no drugs.. no monitoring.. not even paying attention!
It's so great to hear that you all have had only minor difficulties due to your age. I'm not yet pregnant. I will be taking a test in a few days. If I'm not pregnant, I will be going to the doctor to discuss fertility treatment options. 2 miscarriages in 2014 and have continued to try and conceive again since my last miscarriage in October (almost 7 months ago). I'm losing hope, but your comments have made me feel a little more optimistic again.
At 37 finally gave in and did 3 rounds of Clomid, which did it. No complications though, have been seeing midwives who barely acknowledge my age. And I've keep more active through pregnancy than most of the younger ladies on my BMB.
GL, hope to see you back soon!

While on it? Yes, I was a total emotional wreck.:) Of course that was compounded by the fact that, by that point in our TTC "journey", I was already pretty spent, emotionally. But that was the worst part.

Yes, 1st pregnancy at 38 was a total surprise, followed by 3 chemical pregnancies at age 39 and an early m/c, all natural except for one where we did IUI. 5th and finally successful pregnancy was a week before I turned 40. Now pregnant naturally at 42, will be 43 when I give birth. Only issue was blood pressure but I've always had issues w/ birth control and blood pressure even when much younger so I imagine I just have a sensitivity to hormones and not age related.Only other issue was repeat m/c which was prob due to aging eggs.

I will be 38 when baby comes. Had two mc previously. Got pregnant naturally each time and quickly (4 mos / 3 mos / 3 mos). Taking progesterone and baby aspirin. This is my first child. DH wants 4 so this is encouraging.
Well I am a couple days late on my Period. I took a test and its a BFN. I've had some tiny streaks of blood in my CM for several days during mid cycle. I'm not sure what to think of that. Maybe that has something to do with AF being delayed. Or maybe I'm pregnant and it's too early to tell?
I will be 39 when baby comes...my first pregnancy, conceived naturally. No complications whatsoever....and I'm thankful every day for this blessing! It annoys me when I see my doctor and she seems "surprised" that I'm having such a good pregnancy...like she's expecting me not to because of my age or something.....
I'm 46 and have no children. I've been TTC for 3 years. I tried one round of IVF and also tried clomid. Clomid made me feel awful. I didn't like it. I had 2 miscarriages and one chemical prenancy, and was told by 4 doctors that I should give up, that I would never get get pregnant with my own egg... the list goes on.....
I did my own research and started taking some OTC supplements - organic wheatgrass pills, maca, New Chapter perfect prenatals, slo-mag magnesium and chasteberry capsules. Do some research on them if you're curious. None of them are extreme or weird.
And after 2 months of taking the chasteberry, I'm 7 weeks pregnant!! I will continue to take it at least through 14 weeks. Along with everything except the maca. I quit taking that. And so far so good!
Saw the heartbeat and everything is on track!!
So yes, be open to the clomid and the other doctor aided situations. But also consider some of the natural supplements that are much easier on the body and may work for you.
In the end, though, it's about your body and your journey. Only you know what you're comfortable with and what you need. Just wanted to offer my experiences, both with Medical intervention, and without.
Yes! We had all of the fertility testing, a polyp surgery, and three rounds of IUI with no success. We were surprised by a positive test at the end of March (after opting out of IVF and quitting IUI), and I turned 39 a few days later. I'm now 8 weeks 3 days! Second ultrasound today showed our little gummy bear with a strong heartbeat! Still crossing fingers and toes because of a history of past miscarriages, but I'm feeling hopeful.
I will be 40 later this month. We "weren't trying, but weren't avoiding" when we conceived. I have "minor" placenta previa which can be related to age but my doctor said it isn't likely to cause any problems. The ironic part is that at 32 I had a miscarriage and then tried two years (charting and timing like a mad woman) and was told by an RE we would need assistance even though he couldn't find a problem. We conceived our first the last month before starting interventions when I was 34. Just appreciating how much harder it was to conceive the first time before I was of "advanced maternal age". My doctor told me his wife had their last two children at 40 and 42 naturally. Good luck to you!
I am 42 this is my first pregnancy. Took exactly 12 months and I had pretty much given up the natural route. I am 14 wks and along with my OB I have a fetal maternal specialist. As of now no complications. Just had panarama screen for chromosome issues and it came back very low risk. I will be monitered much more closely in last trimester. Bi weekly non stress fetal monitoring but we are so excited!
I am 37 - going to 38 in September. My Mom had me at 42 and that was 37 years ago. You will be fine. It has more to do with genetics and chance than age
no complications ever here. My 7th and so far my 8th pregnancy that were in my 40's were just pretty much the same as my pregnancies in my 20's! Good pregnancies. Good births. Healthy babies!

Don't lose hope. I had a miscarriage this year too. All of my friends are 35 + and having theirI first babies. And all of them had miscarriages. One of my friends had three and now is due in a few weeks. It took me 7 months or so to get pregnant again myself. I bought one of those fertility monitor things...turns out I was ovulating really early and missing every month and I had no idea.
Re: 39 and pregnant?
Nothing special just OPK and
Actually the months we did not pay attention is the month we got pregnant
