My husband and I bought hula hoops for the kids to play with at the birthday party this weekend. We just spent 15 minutes practicing in the garage. He is way better than me. B-)
I think that lo's top teeth are coming in she has had a low grade fever on and off for the past couple of days and her sleep is shit. I'm hoping its that and not getting sick. Surgery is in a week....
LO has figured out how to open the liquor cabinet and has been playing with a bottle of peach schnapps for the past 10 minutes. Keeps him happy while I catch up on the Bump!

Sounds like something I would do... like letting DD chew on the bottle of Tylenol, or use my medicine bottle as a rattle. Thank goodness for childproof caps.

My son has a travel size bottle of mouth wash (sealed) that he loves. Looks like his own little bottle of alcohol. When he is being cranky I hand him the mouthwash and say "have a drink and relax, ya little alchy"

DD recently learned how to "Give five" or "high five" and it is so darn cute! If you stick your hand out to her and say give me five, she will stop what ever she is doing and give five with a huge smile on her face and laugh. This is such a fun learning age!
I love the high five!! I wish I could explain how DD claps... it isn't a normal clap and she doesn't seem inclined to change. It is freaking awesome and I hope she claps like that forever lol

There are so many little things I wish they wouldn't change and then one day you realize they don't do it anymore I see this with my three year old. I remembered the other day how when she was about 15 months old she would start yelling "nut! Nut!" In an adorable way bc she wanted to go outside and search for nuts. She still collects nuts and puts them in a hole in our deck, but I haven't heard her speak like that in two years
The other day I took LO to a work event and there were awards being presented at the end. When everyone started clapping, LO immediately stopped what he was doing, sat up, and clapped along. It was so cute. He did it every time there was applause. It's amazing how they pick up on social cues and things so quickly.
We were at dinner with friends and when we would laugh she would too. I joked she was like that awkward person at the party who walked up and started laughing without knowing what's going on.
We bought LO a new car seat. She HATES it. It was $200 and can't be returned. She screams bloody murder from the time we put her in until we take her out. Oy.

Dd does this too. It's so fun. Same with clapping and waving and blowing kisses.
Oh my god. I just locked myself out of the house with LO napping. My husband had to send a girl from work to bring me a key. She brings it, I let myself in and then proceed to walk right back out the door that locks itself. I seriously thought I was gonna have a panic attack bc I locked myself out again with no extra key. I found a window that was almost unlocked and broke into my own home. I'm drinking a large glass of wine while LO is still asleep. Cheers!

Oh Lord, I know how you feel...this has happened to me in a way. The door to our basement has a little push lock that has been known to engage itself and Ive been locked in the stairwell before. Luckily there is a door to the outside there and we put a key in the stairwell. The first time this happened DH actually ended up kicking the door in because DD was in the house.

LO was exhausted after his first week of daycare! I should have started bedtime a half hour earlier. Instead DH and I waited until he started to fuss because we were enjoying watching him play. Definitely regretted that as we were wrestling him through the fastest bath ever before getting him down to sleep! Whoops!

My son hates his new one too, I think they will get used to it!
I'm so tired today and LO is refusing to nap. And DH has his monthly poker night, so I was planning on getting a bunch of stuff done for work once LO is in bed. That plan is rapidly changing into beer and pizza on the couch followed by as many chocolate chip cookies (baked from tube dough) as I can eat before I fall asleep. Woo hoo crazy Saturday night!!!

I am so embarrassed... Apparently DD has two new teeth we didn't know about. I was watching one of the fronts that was starting to show under the gums so I assumed that's where her teething mannerisms were coming from. Oops! These two were hiding towards the back!

Guys. I remembered about some chocolate frosting I had bought for lo's bday that I did my end up using. I am eating it on warm chocolate chip cookies right now. Oh. My. Freakin'. Gosh. So good.

On the car seat stuff, caroline wasn't sure about her new one either, but now she likes it.
