  • I'm usually check in a few times a day, but haven't had anything great to contribute lately. I am super tired today as my 3 year old came in and woke me up twice last night crying...once because he needed some water and hurt his toes getting our of bed then the second time because her had "bugger" in his ears and wanted a a warm washcloth to clean them...then DD woke about a half hour later. My kids normally sleep through the night pretty well and of coarse this happened on the night that I had already stayed up an hour later than usual because I was reading.

  • So is there anyone on here who doesn't like cleaning? Im not sure if you are all crazy or if Im just broken?!

  • I don't like cleaning, but I like having cleaned. ;)
  • I love spring cleaning but hate the regular everyday cleaning.
  • I don't exactly like cleaning but I do like a clean house. If there is too much, clutter, dirt, laundry, toys all over, dirty dishes around, then I can't relax! It seriously makes me super stressed and grumpy, I feel like I spend entirely too much time cleaning but it still feels like a mess! With two Lo's, 2 big dogs, 4 cats and DH it gets messy fast.I will say that I do enjoy cleaning much more when no one else is home because I can get so much done, so much faster!

This exactly. I just can't relax in a disaster zone of a house. My OCD kicks in and I just overall feel better once it's clean!

This is me too. The clutter gets to me and I feel overwhelmed. It makes me feel good to throw stuff out.

I'm having a bit of bump withdraws. Wth are the icons beside everyone's name now?

I have no idea. I asked as well and none of these lovely ladies answered ;)
I didn't answer because I have no clue! The Bump keeps us so well informed.
  • I don't really like cleaning, but I agree that it makes me feel better to do it. I really need to find a better solution to manage clutter. It drives me crazy!!
  • I don't like cleaning, especially with the kids around. I do it, but often not to the standards I used to because it just takes too long with two little ones underfoot

  • Hey gurl hey!

I'm alive, though barely.  It's testing/paperwork/parent meeting time at my school, and things are insane.

Plus things in the dog rescue world are crazy too.   I had two dogs flying to foster homes via Pilots N Paws this Saturday, plus coordinating ground transport and fosters, plus crazy sudden coordination for a dog found out in the backwoods with a broken leg on Saturday (after vet hours, of course).

My parents are great and really helpful when they visit.... However... They ALWAYS ruin something EVERY time they visit. DH has a special blender for smoothies that he uses almost every day. The blender attachments that also serve as the cups can't go in the dishwasher. There are stickers right on them saying they can't go in the dishwasher. Of course we just found them totally mangled in the dishwasher. Sigh.
  • @smushi - that's so amazing that you do so much rescue work. Those pups are lucky to have you. That must be a lot of extra work on top of an already busy schedule with a baby.
  • @yellowflower15 it's great but lately with my special Ed meetings all hitting this month at work, it's been crazy! I have let a lot slip and thank goodness our adopters are so patient with me :) I'm the coordinator for all fosters, transports, applicants, and adopters plus I run the website and Facebook. I've been feeling nuts lately, especially with Lo's birthday this week! People keep asking me the theme for his party and I'm like, uh, cake? Lol

And I feel your pain on the inlaws and dishwashers. My MIL has ruined two of those orgreenic pans that way... And she bought one of them! Lol.
  • I really wish SO's mom and dad and my mom and dad were better grandparents. My grandparents(on my dad's side were awesome grandparents and still are.
  • The best part about having an LO is getting to watch all the kids movie!

  • Why is it that DD sleeps until 9am on DH's days off but on mine she only sleeps until 8am? It's a trade off though... I can get her down for two naps and DH can only get her down for one.

  • That isn't fair! But good point on the naps. Hopefully you can take some too! :)

Why do you think I like that she takes two naps lol? I nap with her for one of them and clean/ relax through the other!

  • It was a beautiful day today! The best one of 2015 yet! LO and I went for a long walk with the dog. I feel so energized!

And back to work tomorrow. The mat leave party is over. I'm actually really looking forward to being back, but I will miss LO for sure.
  • Great pics!
  • Adorable pics!

  • It's my little guy's birthday today. I'm oddly a little sad - he's my last baby and he's not really a baby any more.
  • Great pics @BADASBKRCK !
This sounds super stalker-y but you look so familiar! I can't figure it out. Weird :D

lol... you aren't the only one, I get that a lot... it comes from looking very average and girl-next-doorish .

I feel the same way! LO's party was yesterday and it took everything I had not to burst out crying when everyone sang to her!! My only saving grace is that she isn't officially 1 until Friday. Hang in there!
  • Hah! I don't think you look average at all! You all look really nice in the photograph and your hair looks great! I like the length.
  • @BADASBKRCK, your pics are great! She is a cutie!!

I haven't been here in a while...it was nice opening the bump with so much to catch up on! My LO's birthday is tomorrow and I'm starting get a little sad too...Glad I'm not the only one!
  • Yes, @BADASBKRCK --the pics are great!

Also, can I share that I am so randomly proud that I have managed not to lose LO's socks? I don't know why I have chosen that to be super OCD about, but it makes me happy every time I do laundry and the socks each have their match. I guess it really is the small things. Hahaha.

Haha. Me too! I put them in a mesh lingerie bag for washing and think I'm so clever ;) I have not lost a kid sock to the laundry in three years of parenting ;)

I went to Carter's today to find a 1st birthday bib and had a hard time not bursting into tears looking at the baby clothes. :( DH thinks I'm nuts.
  • I'm watching my hurricane of a niece for a few hours today. Halp.
  • Caroline's birthday is today. We went in to sing her happy birthday when she woke up, and I could hardly get through the song bc I was crying so much. I hope I'm better at the party this weekend!

Having a driveway nap right now. Loving it. The sun is out, there's a cool breeze, and birds are chirping. I could do this all afternoon.

ETA: the only thing wrong with this picture is that I had to change a blowout poopy dipe in the target parking lot and that stinker is still in the car with us. Windows down help, but I don't dare make noise by getting out of the car to trash it for fear of waking LO...
  • Watching my 2 year old niece makes me REALLY confident in my decision to be one and done. Sweet baby Jesus.
  • I am also proud about my ability to not lose baby socks. Sometimes they get caught up in other laundry, but I always find them... Eventually ;)

Also, I enjoy the fancy terms used at daycare. Saying "my kid loves playing with sensory bottles" sounds so much better than "my kid loves playing with bottles that I pulled out of the trash and filled with random crap"!
  • Good morning! Is it Friday yet? Sheesh. This week feels sooooo long.
