Bumpies- We are aware that some of you have concerns related to the updated Terms of Use on The Bump.
Specifically, two major points continue to come up. The first is a claim that we changed our TOU without informing members. Please know that we announced the new TOU in an email deployed on Friday, January 30, 2015, which you can see a screenshot of below. We would also like to address your questions related to a specific paragraph in the TOU: "If you submit or post any materials or content to the Site, you grant us and our business partners a royalty free, perpetual, irrevocable, transferrable, assignable, sub-licensable, worldwide license to use such materials and content, including alterations thereof, for our business purposes, in any form, in any media, and via any technology we choose, whether it exists now or is created in the future. You represent that any materials and content posted or otherwise submitted by you to the Site is original to you and that you have the right to grant us these rights."
Please note that the new paragraph does not impart any new rules on the community, rather the new paragraph specifies information that was previously in our TOU. The previous TOU stated:
“The Bump will have a nonexclusive global license to publish the content submitted by users and contributors within The Bump. The Bump will also have global nonexclusive adaptation and resale rights over any content and material submitted by users and contributors within The Bump's World Wide Web sites. These nonexclusive publishing license and resale/adaptation rights extend to any materials submitted "for publication" within The Bump, including both message board postings and content submitted to The Bump for uploading and subsequent publishing within non-message board Areas.”

Why have you only posted this here? A lot of people have been concerned about this statement in your new TOU, but you have only posted your "clarification" on this board, which hardly anyone reads. And you deleted the origibal threads throughout the boards that brought up this problem.
If you are so sure about this "clarification" you should post it across the boards. You know, since safety is your top concern.
Funny how the time line changes to suit what your needs. I guess though you are enjoying the gullible women that are now inhabiting this non-community.
It's a good thing a lot of ex-members have screenshots and copies of messages that provide a true and accurate timeline for events. For posterity's sake and all that, not because TB cares one way or another about its members. That has been made extraordinarily clear through their unprofessional actions.
I unsubscribed from emails after TheBump wouldn't stop sending me crap about breast pumps and stuff even though I had a miscarriage. It was painful. So, I did not receive notification.
Knowing that many people can opt out of emails, and in the interest of transparency, a notice should have been posted to the main boards.
This. The Bump has been banned from my in-box since 2013 when you wouldn't stop sending me weekly emails about the "progress" of my lost pregnancy, even after I changed all my settings to reflect that I was no longer pregnant. Painful is an apt word for this. So, I never got notice of the new TOU.

You think sending an email - through a marketing email that people can opt out of- is sufficient???? The correct - and easiest way - to ensure everyone has seen/been made aware of the new TOU is to log everyone out, and have them click agree prior to relogging in. Even a half-assed webprogrammer can do that so what is The Bump's excuse???? I stand by my assertion that it is shady and underhanded.
Your supposed "rights to contents" paragraphs are two VERY DIFFERENT paragraphs. First off the old TOU said nothing about TB's business partners, nor transferrable rights, nor IRREVOCABLE. Under the old TOU you could revoke said rights.
@bumptara@bumpcaitlin@bumpadmin Clarification please on whether the NEW TOU's will be extended to pictures/posts done under the old TOU.
AND did anyone else notice you can no longer edit your posts that are older than 1 month?? What's up with that? Now I am UNABLE to remove pictures that I did NOT give XO group permission to use for their business purposes.
---QBF--- QFP this in case anything else goes missing...
Nothing? really ?? no response?? You clearly have time to kill on the boards - marking people as trolls, deleting posts - but no time to respond? Shocked (not really)
It's getting fucking ridiculus!
If they didn't want to answer any questions they could have just made a closed announcment. Like they did with all the others... Transparency - it's not your thing, is it? @BumpTara@BumpCaitlin@BumpAdmin
@BumpAdmin Again, I request that you remove my second warning because it is NOT a violation of TOU, NOR have you provided explanation of how it would fall under a TOU violation. I accuse you of abusing your power, a clear violation of your TOU according to the section you quoted me in my fraudulent (also a violation of your own TOU) violation.
You should be ashamed @BumpTara. The few people that still care are here and your efforts to ignore them and delete their comment will only drive this place to fail.
