So many people hate the name Angus that we tell them but I'm really starting to like it. What does the general public think?

I love it. It's a great old name and I like the nn Gus as well.

I also think of Angus Young not a nerd which I have heard IRL as a reason it's bad. I also don't understand why a so called "nerd" association is bad so ..

I know it's a legitimate name, but all I can think of is "where's the beef"? I would never use it.

Honestly I don't like it, and chances are he won't either once he reaches school age. It'll either be associated with beef, or worse.....mean kids will taunt him with calling him Anus. Kids can be cruel, so I'd really think on that.

It's my FIL's name and he goes by his middle name instead.

Definitely NMS. It sounds harsh and not very attractive IMO.

I really don't like Angus, while Gus could be a cute nn, I'd rather it be a nn for Augustus
