Case of The Mondays (randoms)

I know it's early, but I'm stuck on awake and it is Monday at this point, so here we go.

My random:

My upstairs neighbor was kind enough to wake me up at 1 am with wall shaking volumes of various terrible music, again. I have as of yet not managed to get back to sleep. I had a heck of a time getting to sleep to begin with. (Restless leg, please go away!!!)

About ten minutes ago, I gave in to my sweet tooth and used my noisy little food processor to make a milkshake using Ben and Jerry's cinnamon buns and vanilla almond milk. I'm pretty sure it woke him up.

Also, it is super delicious.

Good morning! It's 9am here. Where are you stellar?

I started maternity leave last week...2 months early. My big plans today involve reogranizing the cabinets. Time to take care of these household things before baby's here.

    Your milkshake sounds amazing.

Good morning! I'm in western Massachusetts... It just hit 3am here.

My milkshake was indeed amazing. I finished it all too quickly, lol.

Good luck on your day! It always makes me feel better when I feel extra productive, I hope it does for you too!

  • @stellarsoundz‌ That sounds so yum!! I've been trying to convince myself all morning not to make all of this ... photo 20150111_204727_zpsgflgxmcc.jpg (I will probably lose my battle and at least open the Reece's peanut butter chips ... mmmm, peanut butter!)

How was your Europe trip? I've been MIA since we were in Naples for awhile. And that drawer of goodies looks delicious.

Maybe not all of it, but baking sounds like a great Monday...

    I say go for it!

  • @Biscotto‌ It was really great, but glad to be back. A bit cold for me, thoigh, haha! So much to do, now. How was your holidays? @stellarsoundz‌ I actually took this pic this morning to ask hubby which he wanted ... then decided I felt like chocolaty brownies! ;) So that's the leading contender at the moment! :)

Europe's been freezing! Did you eat lots of delicious food? My holidays were good, we were in Naples visiting FI's family, so lots of food. Too much food. And it snowed for the first time in 30 years in Southern Italy so that was fun.
  • Update: I definitely woke him up. He's stomping around upstairs all cranky. I love the smell of milkshake in the morning. Smells like... Passive aggressive victory. (Tastes like heaven)

Bravo! What time is it there?

Haha!! Yay, to you! If you get the hankering, make another. ;)

@Biscotto‌ oh my goodness ... the food was amazing!! Like, seriously incredible. :D (in Europe, not in Turkey!). South Italy with snow sounds beautiful. (but it's always tough to those not used to cold weather )

    3:30am now.

    @DragonflyDreaming‌
I just might. Maybe I'll wait an hour though... ;)

I know, I'm terrible, but he is seriously the worst neighbor I've ever had. And just this once, it feels lovely to be just a tiny bit bitchy back.

  • Ugh! Heartburn and having to pee woke me up at 11:45, and heartburn, snoring dog and insomnia are keeping me up. Pepcid is only lasting 12 hours now, so I totally need something prescription strength. To make matters worse I have to go back to work this morning after a three week Christmas break. It is going to be a long day!

@luckystarz‌ the nap dilemma. Yup. A regular struggle in my home as well.

GL with your van seeking endeavors!

And yeah, unfortunately he has an identical floor plan, bedroom over ours, everything lined up. But his entertainment system is in his living room, and I was sleeping in my bedroom where I sleep with a TV on. And his music was still loud enough to yank me from a sound sleep. And he does this all the time.

He is like 50ish and lives alone, and proudly refuses to take his meds for his bipolar, so all of us in the four unit building get the joy of his cyclic super highs and lows.

He's also a total creeper, always comes outside to try and talk over the balcony whenever I leave the apartment... Without fail, no matter when I leave. And often comes and knocks on our door for random things.

Example: (when I was still delivering the newspaper) "could you guys be quieter when you get ready for work at like 3am? I just got a cat and it stresses him out when you make noise at night."

Example B: (when the 22 year old "just a roommate in this one bedroom apartment and totally not a girlfriend" and he got in a fight) can I use your cell phone? My roommate took off with my car and my phone is in it and I can't reach her without a phone."

That one happened 3 separate times, and was preceded each time by hours of screaming so loud we could understand every word.

    TL;DR: he is seriously awful.

Can you report him to the office? Here they 3 warnings and then can be evicted.

It's not a big enough complex for an office... Just a four unit building, and the landlord is generally useless. We just deal with it. We will need to move soon anyway, since it's only a one bedroom place, so we won't have to put up with him much longer. We would have moved already but we need to see where DH will be best employed so we don't have to do it twice.

That said, if he comes out to call me "hey preggers" and ask to see my belly one more time when I'm trying to leave for work, I may just kill him. So.

That is seriously creepy. I'd be trying to move ASAP. Comments about your belly? Gross!

I also need that milkshake now.

I just got up to pee but I'm so anxious for our ultrasound in 3 hours I can't get back to sleep. We are checking on his CP cysts and growth since my belly was measuring small last appt. I'm so anxious, I just wanna see a little fat boy in there with no cysts!! He's currently kicking up a storm in my belly.

Yeah, he's truly awful. Gross is a good word for it.

Seriously though, that milkshake combo is the best I've had so far. At least this morning isn't a total bust!

FX for your ultrasound! Update us when you know, please!

@luckystarz‌ I'm rooting for you! I'm still up, obviously, 4.5 hours after being woken from my whole hour of sleep... So I am hoping you have better luck!

  • @janda426‌ I hope that all goes well with the ultrasound! (And that you get some sleep before then)

@stellarsoundz‌ So glad that you are moving soon. I feel bad for your current and all future neighbors that have to deal with that guy. Do you have an estimated time you'll be moving? And does your DH just sleep through all of this?

He sounds terrible! Our neighbors (we're in an apartement too) aren't terrible but we had ones that were awful. Around a year ago, they had a huge domestic fight around 11pm. We listened to the yelling for about 30 minutes but it got to the point that I was really concerned for the woman, so we called the police. One police car came at first, then 4 police cars came for back up! Doors were slamming, stuff was being thrown, the man was yelling and throwing himself against the walls and down the stairs when the police finally dragged him out. It was awful. The woman moved out a few weeks later.
  • @stellarsoundz‌ your neighbor would freak me out. Hopefully your husbands employment gets figured out and you can move soon.

  • My random is that I was told to send an email out on Friday before I left work to a bunch of people who are higher up on the totem pole than myself ...

I sent the email, left, got a text message several hours later from my program manager saying I needed to return to the office ASAP (it was about 7pm at this point) so that I could recall the email because our bigger boss read it and was pissed.

When I got back to my office my team lead + the bigger boss were sitting at her desk writing a 'rebuttal' to the email I had sent which said the original email was wrong and the information presented therein, incorrect.

Uhh...okay? It was literally an email inviting people to attend a meeting we hold every Monday and Wednesday. I work as a government contractor (I'm a contractor) and this is just an example of political bullshit between contractor/government communications. Obviously I would not have sent an email to all those people if I hadn't been under explicit instructions to do so.

I'm honestly too pregnant at this point to care.

  • If you ladies haven't got a chance yet, be sure to check out the 'Introducing dog to baby' thread ... it's a pretty great qfp by @Chuggles1013‌ . (And just the sheer change is hilarious!)
  • @janda426 good luck today @massiejs09 it always cracks me up how worked up people get over stupid shit like that. I wouldn't have gone back.. AFM I am sitting here in the conference room I share with my project team (alone since I am always the first to get it) wondering how I am going to get these rain boots off. Rain boots seem to be the hardest because of the material. Maybe I'll just wear them all day.

So sorry he's still breech and the fluid is low, but I'm very happy to hear the cyst is gone and he's measuring well!  Please keep us posted - glad to hear they are testing you weekly, though I imagine it's stressful.

@chunkymonkeylvr, now I really, really, really want cocoa krispies.  After @dragonflydreaming makes me some of those blueberry muffins she has in her drawer.

  • @janda426 Can you look into trying to turn him? I was reading there's a pretty big success rate with that. So happy the cyst is gone!! :)

@RQuinlin‌ I hope your DH steps up pretty quick. I'm glad you were able to stick up for what needs to be done! Definitely don't overwork yourself.
  • @janda426, I will say that Traditional Chinese Medicine has been shown in some studies to be very effective at turning breech babies - might be something to look into.  I am generally pro modern Western medicine, but I am also a big believer in acupuncture and moxibustion, and I see a TCM practitioner regularly.  I know that isn't everyone's cup of tea, though.

  • Another vote for yes @saltyfins I used mine a lot and it helped my back at times. I also used other pillows or whatever was around but I did prefer my nursing pillow and utilized it a lot throughout the first year of his life. My husband would use it to lay him down on and he would drink his milk by himself once he could hold the bottle. Definitely useful.

  • @massiejs09‌ - that sucks about work. I'm so sorry.

@janda426‌ - so happy the cyst is gone!

And me - I am back in L&D ;(. My BP was high at my dr appt and I had protein in my urine. I am so pissed - I was actually dressed and ready for work - with make up and everything. My dr appt didn't go that great - basically things don't look great for me going to term or not having a c-section. So I am waiting on lab results...And if I get discharged today I am making an appointment with another doctor. I really don't want to have this baby for another 7 weeks.

Oh hell no! Enough social niceties for someone who lacks them completely. I would flat out tell him he bothers me and I don't want him to talk to me anymore. You don't have to continue to be nice to someone so creepy.
