My Aunt was 47 when she had her child, her DH was 48. Their DD just turned 1. It was a total shocker to the whole family because we all thought that they didn't want kids and boom it happened
(I'm in the other thread but just wanted you ladies to know that 30's and 40 is not "old").
I'm 31 and a first time mummy, super excited! All my friends have atleast 2 or 3 so I'm kinda behind my friend circle but felt I wanted to gain a good career and be in a good position before starting my little family.
What's the cutoff? I felt too old to comment in the 'young one' at 26.
This, I'm 28 and will turn 29 before baby is born.
------- Yep, I am also 28 and will turn 29 right after this baby is born. This is my first and I don't feel old, but I certainly don't feel young either.
I'm an inbetweener too. I recently turned 29.
This. I'm 29 and this will be my first. I guess I'm on the cusp too!
I'm 33 will be 34 when I deliver. I've always said 35 was my cut off but if this baby isn't a boy we might try for one more. This thread makes me feel good to see mommies having babies after 35.

That said, I have an orientation at the hospital Monday and I'm going to probably be the oldest FTM there. Because of what H does for a living, I'm going to be around a looot of women/girls who are 10+ years younger than me having their first kid. I'll feel like a crone.

Thank goodness for this thread!! I'm 37 and will turn 38 the month after this bean is born. My DS is 15 and DD is 12. We are waiting until my after my first appointment on the 19th to tell them (I will be 10 weeks). This pregnancy comes as a surprise and I got my BFP just a week after having a safe sex talk with my 15yo DS. Oops. Lol. Glad to be on this journey with you ladies
I will turn 33 a month before this LO is due. It's totally normal in other countries. The US has a fairly low FTM age compared to similarly developed countries.
I had DD at 17 and DS at 30. I always encourage women to wait until at least 25 to get married and late 20s to have kids. I gave up a lot by having her so young and, quite honestly, am a much better parent in my 30s.

Lol. On the bright side, having a baby in the house might be a good teen- pregnancy deterrent.
35, will be 36 at EDD of our 1st. Damn proud to be earning the title of mommy at this time, and couldn't have imagined doing it much earlier. Cheers ladies! **clinks the sparkling cider**

Our Story
Me- 35, mild hypothyroidism
DH- 29, low count due to a chromosomal abnormality, only option is IVF/ICSI with PGD.
Married 5/13
TTC since 8/13
IVF/ICSI #1 ER 9/14 - 14R, 6M, 6F, 5 blasts off to PGD- 1 normal female, 2 balanced males
FET 12/8 of 2 frosties - 1 male/1 female - stick babies stick!
I'm 37. I don't feel old. I don't look old. I finished grad school two years ago surrounded by people born in the 80s. Got over the age thing then. I wouldn't change my life decisions because they brought me here, to this wonderful point with a wonderful partner.
I'm 29. I went to the young mommies thread because I still feel youngish. I left pretty quickly lol. I forget I'm almost 30 a lot and not young anymore.
I hope I say this well:
My 33rd birthday is six days before my EDD. I had my first at 30. DH and I want a big family so I hope to have children (2.5-3 years apart) until I can't anymore. I get really embarrassed about being okay with potentionally raising a toddler in my late 40's or early 50's when my friends talk about how lame that "would be". I really disagree with my friends.
I spent my 20's living my life, traveling and enjoying myself and my relationship with my husband. If I'm still raising children in my 50/60's and working for their continued education in my 60/70's I am really totally okay with that. I don't plan to put my life on hold while I have kids either. I know it has different perimeters than without children or with older children out of my house but I have wanted children to share my life with for so long and I'm glad we waited and I have no negative feelings about having children at my age.
We went in the opposite direction. With DH in med school / residency we didn't feel we had the time or money to really 'enjoy life'. We didn't think we could travel and such. Looking back I think we could have made it work, but we decided to start our family young, and I hope to be done having kids by 31-32, so that we will be able to travel and really 'enjoy life' so to speak before we're too old.
I personally can't imagine having kids in to my 40's, but I definitely understand and respect your point of view!
I'm 34 now ams will be 35 in June. The is our first. I'm around a mix of ages since there are still a lot of young mom's in the south, but a larger number of my friends have waited as well.
I'm 40. I think I might snag the award for oldest.
ETA - I still FEEL like I'm in my 20s, FWIW. I clicked on that thread because I was like, wait! I'm young! And then I was like, oh wait. Nope.
Ha, me too! I'll be just turning 41 when this baby arrives....ancient
I'll be a good 6 months into 41 ... glad to see I'm not the only old one around here.

Well, if you go by medical guidelines, anyone 35 or older is an old mom. I prefer to think of us as more mature.
