Just wondering - we've always taken a trip, but that's not in the cards this year. It's about time to start some new traditions, and what better way to do that than to steal ideas from you lovely ladies.
We're going down to my IL's after we drop my SD off at home. We'll spend the night down there and play games and watch tv and eat. I think it'll be fun. Usually we have a party to go to but those plans are out this year!
Another one staying at home this year (like the past few years). No desire to go out, plus we must stay and protect the scaredy cat 80 lb dog from the fireworks (which are absurd at our house).
Probably just hanging out at a friends house. Me and DH are both off wed-fri so honestly I am more focused on getting an appt with my new OB (insurance changes on the 1st) on Friday and finishing up my registries than what I am doing on the actual holiday. With that being said, I just realized this is the last long break from work I will have before DD is born so maybe DH and I will do something nice just the two of us.
For many years, I (now we) have gone to the same New Years party thrown by family friends. They have a high floor penthouse with a perfect view of fireworks, and they throw the best parties--fancy and comfortable/fun at the same time. So I'll be draping my belly in something sparkly, putting on the low wedges that pass as my nice shoes these days, and drinking that Martinelli's until the wee hours I've spent so much of this winter break in my pajamas that I'm really looking forward to it, actually.
Well my mom would like my SO and i to go to the local gay bar that she goes to every once in a while (cuz the drag queens are ever so eager to meet her pregnant daughter and her handsome boyfriend hahaha for real though that's what they were yelling into my mom's phone the other night when she went) Anyway I'm a super eager to please daughter and my mom has been going through some depression stuff so i have pretty much agreed to it without asking him. He is totally fine with going to a gay bar but it's the "my pregnant girlfriend going out to a really busy bar at 7 months pregnant" thing that he might be a little hesitant about especially considering we will have both worked that night until about 10 or so. I would much rather get off work and come home and just hang out on the couch in front of the TV considering that neither of us drink at all anyway, pregnant or not. So I'm hoping she decides that she doesn't want to go lol *crosses fingers*

I work until 7pm and then again at 7am so probably not a lot. We invited a couple over but I doubt they'll come since I'm pregnant and boring.

I too am staying home with my husband.....I'll probably cook a nice (but hopefully somewhat healthy) dinner for us, and then we'll work on our goals for 2015 and go to bed early to get a strong start to 2015. We're so exciting....haha.
Can't wait for 2015 to start - feel like its a turning point to getting closer to our baby getting here!
We got a babysitter for the evening. I decided to take one for the team and be DD from the restaurant to our friends house. Fortunately I'm not the only sober one, there's about 3 of us, so hopefully it will be fun.

I work that night - and it's my Wednesday to close the bar - so I'll be working. I was initially super bummed, but the money will be good, and I'd be the DD for our group of friends anyways, so why not make some extra money?!
@DM718 we will probably end up seeing either mockingjay or into the woods. Those are the only two movies out that we are wanting to see. We already saw the hobbit.
Assuming we get some rain and it's not too cold, my dd's and I will go to my parents house and do some fireworks. We will also probably get some chilis to go and come home for a movie night watching whatever they choose. We got them some apple juice and me some sparkling cider, they are super excited and it's adorable. A few moms in my town are having a moms with nothing to do night, since all of them are pregnant but holy cow they are drama llamas so we probably won't go to that.
We have 3 friends coming to stay with us for 3 nights starting Wednesday. I'm dreading it and will have no shame in going to bed early if I'm tired. I do hope to make some yummy appetizers and just watch the ball drop, we will probably play games too. Hoping for Cards Against Humanity.
Ohhh also...... for those of you with kids who want to stay up until midnight but they are too young, Netflix has a countdown show where you can trick your kids into thinking it's midnight earlier than midnight. I saw an article about it today.
Hanging out at home with SO and probably falling asleep before midnight! He has to work the next day so he will be happy with a couch and movie night too. We usually go out to our friends party or a bar, but I couldn't be less interested in any of that this year!
We might drive down to dc from philly and try to go to a party, but dh has to work a half day on nye , so we might have to stay here. Last year was low key, we just went to the waterfront to watch the fireworks at midnight. It's hard thinking of something to do while pregnant, but I'm not quite ready to just watch the ball drop on tv - maybe next year.
DH and I will probably stay up late (you know, like 10:30) and play a video game or board game. Or maybe we'll watch The Interview. We're very exciting people.
We had the most fun getting a group together to play boardgames all night /nerds. This year, we are in Istanbul, but will not probably be doing fireworks since I seem to turn into a pumpkin around 9-10pm, these days.
Re: What are you doing for New Year's Eve?
