This annoys me too.  So every time I spell it, I always double check myself, because I'm afraid I'm going to type it wrong.

I love catching errors in emails and such, especially when they are coming from a HIGHER UP (supervisor) who supposedly has so much more education then you....at least in my world/life it happens A LOT

I'm on a bunch of BST groups on Facebook, and I have a hard time buying or selling to people who use your/you're and to/too/two wrong. Like, it's got to be a damn good deal for me to look past dumb.

Y'all I feel like a bad parent, because I am not even trying potty training at this point.  I think Luci is showing a lot of signs, but she won't do anything consistently and I just don't feel like forcing it.  Does that make me a bad mom?

What brand of oil is it?

The only reason I ask is because Young Living is 100% pure, so it can be ingested. You could put it in your water (or whatever else you want lemon in) for flavor but only in a GLASS container. Ingesting it in water will help with heartburn. I use it in cooking too in place of lemon zest. 

Otherwise, it's good to diffuse for mood and has been known to help with retaining information while studying. Mix with some coconut oil and apply to calluses. Add it in the dishwasher for hard water spots. Add it to the wash machine to freshen laundry. You can drop some in epsom salt and put it in your bath - it's a GREAT detoxer.

ETA: How many drops do you use if you're cooking with it?

I wouldn't recommend ingesting it until you've done some research - just because I don't know much about the purity of their oils.  but it's 3 drops per tablespoon

Well it finally happened, DD learned that she can get out of her bed. I'm so not looking forward to the post nap-time (cause obviously no nap happened) clean up today. At least she can't open the door yet!

Mine learned that the same week she started getting out of bed. I put a child door knob thingy on the inside of her door. Her little hands can't get that open yet.

Can you guys give me some night light recs?  We have been leaving Luci's closet light on and it is bothering me at night, because we all sleep with our doors open.  I am wondering if there is something smaller that will give her light but not light up the hallway?

DS just has some generic night light from Target or CVS or somewhere. Nothing special, but it gives a little light. DD doesn't even have one.

No, as much as the LO needs to be ready, the parent does too. And I doubt you need one more stressor right now. I put DD on the potty, she rarely goes, although she talks about it all the time. I guess it's a great idea in theory.

No. You both have to be ready as it is a lot of work up front for you too. Having to drop what you are doing to take a little to the bathroom only to sit on the floor for 5 minutes singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star is for the birds. If she is ready now, it will just make it that much easier when you do it.

I dream of my HS boyfriend at least a few times a month.  We're never doing anything together, but he'll be in the background, or once in awhile we'll have a conversation.  It's the weirdest thing.  We haven't seen or spoken to each other in 12ish years.  I feel like because I never had real closure with him and he was the first person I loved that that's why I dream of him so often.

In a word, no. You are smart. Dont' force until you know for sure she's ready. Besides you have far more important things to worry about than PTing her.

Does she use a sound machine? Leo's sound machine has a night light on it so it is nice to have when I'm in his room with him. He sleeps in pitch black though. James on the other hand turns his light on all the time when I leave his room so we started letting him sleep with his lamp on. My only advice is to get something that plugs in. We tried one of those dream lites and it just ate the battery because he wanted it on all night.

I feel pressured to either PT W now over Christmas break, or wait longer than I ideally want.  I'm choosing the latter.  I am too tired and they say the little turds can regress when a new baby comes.  We're having enough trouble with the big girl bed.

So my mom said to have the baby mid Feb and PT in March.  I'm thinking that's pretty optimistic.  I was a mess with a newborn until W was 3-6 months old.  I'll just play it by ear; maybe things will be easier this time.  My goal is to PT at the very end of my ML.

Nope.  We aren't trying and I'm not going to until he is making it so obviously clear that there is nothing else to do.  I am not going through the struggle and frustration we went through with Maya.  We have so many other struggles to have instead, lol.

We have those projection night lights that plug into the outlet and project a picture on the ceiling.  They're from Target.  I don't think they're all that bright.

Binn was about 5 months old before I had it in me to PT with a new baby. But I do agree that I would wait until post baby.

Nancy was mostly PT before Cal got here and once in awhile she still has an accident.  The first few weeks home with him & trying to keep up with her potty runs was exhausting.

I never take days off work, and I have 10/20 of my vaca/sick days left for the year. 

I am "off" today for a sick day, only accepting urgent calls.  I just received my 8th non-urgent call sent to me from my boss.  "He said you are at home, but you can be reached by cell."  I am so out of breath I cannot take fucking calls.  Good grief.  I am hacking into the phone and out of breath.

This is why I don't take calls when I'm sick or my kids are sick.  If people call, they will get voicemail.  They may then leave a message and I will listen and determine if it's urgent enough to warrant a call back.

@Flamingemu‌ So sorry. I'm sending you so many hugs. Start drinking early on Christmas and if people ask too many questions just say "Mind ya business, ho." Ok, don't say that, but it's perfectly acceptable to tell people it's a private matter.

@tinyhumantoe Stop answering your phone. They can leave a message and if it's really important, you can call back. You need to rest or you will never get better.

Of course that doesn't make you a bad mom.  She won't get to grade school and not be PTed.  You have enough on your plate.

I don't know how much is just in my mind, but they were really good travelers our last two trips when I did this. But I didn't monitor what they ate at restaurants it was just about what I had on hand to eat in the car and hotel. I really want to take the plunge and do it full time at home, to the best of our abilities. Maybe a 2015 goal!

I actually hope nothing romantic comes of this trip. The girl has a long term boyfriend that she is leaving home over christmas for almost 3 weeks. A hotel chain is setting them up in separate rooms, since the hotel's were never booked.

Apparently the tickets were major discount (over 50 percent) so no transfers were allowed. He was just lucky that they didn't need passport info when he booked, or he would be going with his ex gf.

The girl that was picked is from my city, so it has been all over the newspapers for the past couple of days
