@emw87...she's definitely doing it on purpose because she thinks it's cute. I would so let it go if she was being harmless. @MissN06...that's a good idea. I will subtly say something like that if she does it again. She's the baby of the family so everyone takes offense to anything said towards her. @targetpopcornmomma...hahaha, I may go with that. Or bitch slap her one.
@targetpopcornmomma Can you taskrabbit someone to go get the main ingredient for the ornament for you?
Hmm, I don't really leak at all. I just hurt.
@mommymeg143 I would call her out nicely, but if that doesn't work I'd just start referring to her as it or something else silly and slightly offensive .
Gummy worms for breakfast...no wonder this weight isn't coming off!
LO likes the Ergobaby carrier! She hates the moby so I gave in and tried the Ergo with a towel stuffed in the bottom, and it worked! It kept her calm and awake for half an hour.
When will the crying at night stop? It kills me. I've tried a lot of the "techniques" in books but they aren't working =(.
@mommymeg143 I would call your SIL it... Lolz. No I wouldn't. I don't know how to be mean. Anyways, I would say something nicely. Just ask her to stop. If she doesn't, then ignore her the whole trip. Don't let her help out or touch precious Emmy;) hehe!
@mommymeg143 definitely call her out! i would have no patience for that!
@targetpopcornmama - what's the ornament? I want to do something crafty with L for the grandparents, but let's be honest, that probably won't happen.
Also, all these threads about sleep are making me depressed. L is 4 weeks old today and I consider it a FABULOUS night if I can get her to sleep in her bassinet for 3 hours. Most nights it's 2 at a time and then takes another hour to get her back down. It will get better, right? (crazy thing is, I think my body is actually accepting the lack of sleep I never knew it would be possible to semi-function on this little amount of zzzzzz)
So tired, trying to help H finish packing. He is leaving tomorrow morning. Not sure when I am going to be able to move with him could be a couple months! I can't stop crying I hate this so much!!!!!
@AnnieRoo13 The Johnson's breast pads are amazing, they don't bunch at all. Around here they are only at CVS pharmacies, I bought in bulk from Amazon because I love them so much
@smboswell1 It sucks! My mom is the same! Come on really! Also, whats up with them and your living arrangements? I get that it shows respect but really? You have a kid together. Are you and Parker engaged or married?
Neither. Parker is in school in a different state. He is on break now, so we are back and forth between his house and mine. At my house, we sleep together. His mom is a control freak and I have never liked her. It's hard.
@LivinCA We have a 2 week appt and then a 4 week appt. The 2-week is mandated in Maryland because they require that a second heel prick be done/offered at 2 weeks in case the first one missed anything. I don't get what you mean re: Obamacare...I don't think it mandates vision or dental for anyone. I've rarely had dental, have just paid for it out of my pocket. And how would LO need dental before she has teeth?
SIL pediatric NP recommended this to help LO. It may have been shared before but since it helped calm her down I figured I'd repost: Baby yoga for gas
I am trying to make a pecan pie today. This might be too ambitious.
Just made an appointment with an orthopedist / hand specialist for CTS to consider surgery. I'd love to wait until next year but since we already hit our deductible for this year it would be free. Gotta save where we can!
Baby was in a MOOD before bed last night. Complained her face off. We braced ourselves for a bad night.
Then she slept from 10:30 to 5. Ate for an hour the slept from 6-9. We were in shock. Would love it to happen again.
Otherwise, it was fun to finally give her her first real bath last night. She loved it. She was in for a good 20 minutes "floating" and making quiet happy noises. Today's new thing? CDs. I hope I don't hate them.
In crappy news my mom is so high maintenance right now. They are moving next month and she needs coddling. FFS. My last week of pregnancy, labour, delivery and bringing home a newborn means I have no time or energy to worry about being there 200% for my mom. Ugh. Now I get passive aggressive crap from her several times a week. I've been a little preoccupied. Ugh.
She is also upset about the teeny dimple on the baby's chin. DH has one. (I guess she wants no traits of his on our kids? Except for his eyelashes maybe.).
she keeps asking when the dimple will go away. It won't. "Girls shouldn't have dimples in their chin. I really hope it disappears. Poor little thing. It will be so ugly."
I'm waiting for her to offer to find us a paediatric plastic surgeon. Makes me want to effing cry.

That's awful, I am sorry she is a jerk. Your LO is beautiful and the chin dimple is adorable. My DS has a little one and so does my 3 yo niece.

She can suck it! I wish I had a dimple on my chin!
@moroccojade I take offense! I have a dimple in my chin and would not consider myself ugly. Sure, I wish I didn't have it, but hubby actually likes it and it's one of the features that makes me look less like just the "girl next door." Hubby has a smaller, less pronounced dimple, and that's what baby got. If a dimple is your daughter's only challenge, she's lucky!
Speaking of breast pads, does anyone have recommendations for something a little softer than the Lanisloh pads? My nipples are so sensitive right now and those pads are scratchy!
I have some washable ones that I use at night (bc the Lansinoh ones would fill over night) that are super soft. They're called bamboobies.
Edit to add that they are super lumpy so I only wear them at home.
TTC 3/2012; IUI 2/26/14; EDD 11/23/14; DD born 11/21/14!!!

Ugh I know how you feel. My son was a surprise. I was 20 when I got pregnant with him. My parents and his family wouldn't let us sleep in the same room together while I was pregnant. It was so annoying. Thankfully after I had him we got our own place together so we didn't have to deal with that bullshit. I'm sorry they're treating you like that!
Ladies who BF: do your boobs still leak all the time? I'm not sure if mine do as I have been wearing breast pads 24/7 but I forgot to put them on after my shower yesterday around 1 pm and they didn't leak at all. I put them on for bed time though as I didn't want to wake up in a puddle.
@AnnieRoo13 Mainly my right boob leaks like crazy. I have been using bamboobies reusable pads. They are more comfortable than disposables. Plus more cost effective for me.
So Parkers grandmother came in the room because Beckham was screaming. He was screaming because he was hungry and does not feel well. She proceeds to tell me that baby's do not scream like beck does and he does not like my milk? She then says he needs formula. No he doesn't!!!!
Where would I go if I needed to take Beckham to the doctor? I'm an hour and 45 minutes from his ped! He won't stop coughing and he still has an upset tummy. According to his temp under his armpit, he has a 98.5 temp, so no fever.... Idk what else to do.

I'm so frustrated with the billing dept. First they misspelled my name on 1 bill, so insurance denied it. Then instead of billing the twins under their names they billed under bba and bbb for baby a and baby b. Of course it gets denied.
@morrkim I feel your frustration. The billing dept. @ my twins' pedi somehow filed claims for one of the girls under the wrong birthdate. So her 1 month appt got denied coverage, but her sister's did not. How do you F up a birthdate for twins?? Really?
Had a great 4 week well baby visit at the doctor's today! Will is 9 lbs 6 ozs- up 2 pounds in 3 weeks! He also peed all over the doctor, oops.
We went to BIL and SIL's house for dinner and my nieces (2 and a half) have started feeding their dolls by lifting up their shirts and putting them to their chests! I was so proud
I'm seriously so scared that it's going to be all weird down there.
@AeandJb Same here! I had a C/S, but I'm still weirded out. I think because it has been so long lol. I have my PP appt tomorrow, DH knows I'll prob be given the green light
@moroccojade your mom makes me angry. Tell her to stuff it. The same goes for your in-laws @smboswell1. And I hope Beckham is OK!
I've been MIA due to my parents being here. It's been surprisingly nice--they cleaned the house for me today, and have taken care of meals. I'll miss them when they fly back tomorrow!
This helpfulness is new with kids. It's like my mother finally realizes I'm an adult and am in charge of my house (she was impossible before I had kids, insisting on having her way in my house and justifying it as "I'm the mom and can do what I want"). It only took 15 years of living on my own!
@aeandjb and @MrsC430...It's really not bad at all. I celebrated six weeks today with DH last night. One day early...whoops!! As long as you take it slow it's completely fine!! I love it because I feel like DH and I bonded again.
@LivinCA - Could you feel the suction on the right? If not, check the membrane on the pump (the little white piece). If it's ripped or loose, the pump won't work properly.
ETA: It just dawned on me that maybe not all pumps have the same parts... I have a Medela and it has the little white membrane.
@LivInCA I'm not sure if this is state or insurance specific but I thought babies are automatically covered under the mother's insurance for 30 days. After that, you are responsible to get them on your insurance.
1) the Target we visit in the States has a cafe, but the popcorn actually looks questionable. Our local Targets have no cafés, but do have the two story magical-cart escalator, which is target's special gift to minibean.
2) I saw several references to 'well-visits.' We don't do peds up here unless there is a specific problem - just use family doctors. My family doctor saw my LO when she was 5 days old, and doesn't want to see her again until 6 weeks. This freaks me out big time. We do have full access to a free public health nurse and can go in and weigh her at anytime and get help with BFing, etc. But how often are your LOs seeing the doctor??
@KUinCBUS that's the best looking birthday suit I've ever seen. Your uterus is a magical place for him to come out looking that spiffy. Kudos!!

Im getting things like this too. I was told by FIL during a particularly long crying spell, she's hungry, you need to give her REAL milk.
Whatever that means.
Anytime I struggle it's suggested I switch to formula.
