LO will not stay asleep for nothin'! It is almost 2am and I have a feeling we won't be getting much sleep anytime soon. Ughhhhh.

Ladies who BF: do your boobs still leak all the time? I'm not sure if mine do as I have been wearing breast pads 24/7 but I forgot to put them on after my shower yesterday around 1 pm and they didn't leak at all. I put them on for bed time though as I didn't want to wake up in a puddle.

Brooke is so hungry all the time tonight. I swear all she's done since 8pm is eat. I hope this is the last feed for a while so I can sleep.

@AnnieRoo13‌ mine still leak as I get to 3+ hours. Also sometimes the opposite boob during a feeding and often after a shower

@AnnieRoo13‌ yup! Mine still leak all the time. Running out of the good pads and will be finding it if target brand provides the same protection.

Emmy does this all day long!! When DH comes home he holds her for two minutes and says, "she really wants her independence" and lays her down on her playmat or bed. She is the happiest baby alive and kicks her feet playing, laughing at him. He does not believe she wants to be held all day even though she does!! Haha, little girl is playing me!!

@AnnieRoo13 - Yup, mine leak all the time. Every time the nip hits the air, it's like an explosion of milk. I was waiting for the water to get warm in the shower the other day and ended up with a puddle of milk on the floor. It's insane.

@AnnieRoo13‌ mine never leak, I wear pads but really there is no point for me too. I use them mainly as a shield between my clothes and nips.

@IndianaMommy08‌ I would tell you to try not to take it personally. I know she commented directly to you but dealing with IF is really hard. Maybe she just went thru a big milestone with her IF and it did not go according to plan and she is really hurting right now. I know that when I was dealt with IF my sister who was pregnant (and I am close to) got a lot of snarky comments from me that she did not deserve. All j can say is that it is really hard and try not to take it personally.

I only leak while I'm feeding, but I don't have much experience. My milk just came in two days ago lol

Up for the 4am feeding and DH left the bottle out for me. Unfortunately he short changed it by an ounce and LO is NOT happy. Will have to go back in there after I finish pumping.

Re: leaking. I know I leak sometimes and I have a lot of milk so it surprised me that I didn't leak all afternoon. LO eats basically every hour or two in the afternoon/evening so maybe I just don't have as much there to leak.

@turtles7‌ I didn't like the Target brand breast pads as much, but they weren't terrible. Which ones are you using now?

LO slept 4-5 hrs overnight and ate 4 oz at each feeding over the weekend. On Monday, she would stop at 2 oz and be hungry 1.5 hrs later. Now she's awake after a short 2 hrs sleep at 2 am.

DS slept for 3.5 hours in his crib-longest stretch yet, but then the rest of his night was back to every 45-60. Come on baby boy!

No sleep makes me an emotional wreck. I just called my mom hysterically crying asking if she could go into work late so I could get some sleep. She has meetings all day and I cried even harder. My step-dad is now driving over an hour back home from work to help me out. I love my family.

@turtles7‌ those are the ones that I bought after having the Target ones and I like them better. I find they bunch a bit less.

Question-what's the best way to get poop stains out of LO's clothes? I was bleaching the white onesies but wasn't sure what to do with colored clothes (for example her pink sleeper that she had a blowout in)?
Also she's exclusively breastfed if that makes a difference..

We had a couple of messy sleepers too.

I just follow what will be our cloth diaper routine. A rinse only cycle with cold water. Then a regular wash with a regular amount of soap on warm or hot.

MIL is currently over, she is watching DS while I rest. I have been having gallbladder issues again so I have been in some serious pain. I have pain medication but it makes me loopy so I asked her over to help with DS. My Mom and sisters are working. She came right over and is even cleaning up a bit. I am embarrassed at the state of the apt.

This happened to me! I thought there was a leak in the ceiling. I was looking all around the bathroom trying to figure out where the dripping was coming from. The answer: my bewbs.


Today is my first day by myself with baby. H is going back to work for two weeks before he quits to become a SAHD! I've been spoiled rotten by him being here. He had a hockey game last night, so I was alone with DS for a few hours (which has happened before). But I did some of the overnight diaper changes so that H could sleep, and I'm with baby all day today. I was panicking about it last night, but I'm feeling a little more confident today.

I've managed to get some shit done today. I have a load of diapers in the wash, I pumped a little milk, and I ate a yogurt. Success!

A pumping question: for those of you who are pumping after a feeding at the breast, how much are you getting? I'm only getting about 2 oz., but I figured that I'm not getting much because baby has already pretty much drained a breast.

Mom comes over to take me to the dr office so I can drop off maternity leave papers and I had LO all ready to go in his car seat I just needed a hoodie. She walks in and I ask her to take him to the car so he will calm down and she just looks at him and starts talking. Really lady?! I think I know what will calm him down. Sure enough as soon as she picked up the car seat stopped crying. I know my kid better than you lady. Good thing she's not sticking around today I probably would chew her head off.

Time for nap..hopefully.

We're using OxiClean Baby to soak the onesies and sleepers after poop explosions. Then wash as usual. Seems to be working so far.

@IndianaMommy08 When I was dealing with IF I had a low tolerance for complaints about anything related to pregnancy, babies, kids, etc. That sounds selfish but every failed cycle crushes you and it's easy to get sucked into your own problems and perspective. Truthfully if I saw a FB post from a friend complaining about hospital bills related to L&D I would've had a long curse-filled internal rant thinking about how much money I had spent on treatment with nothing to show for it- and that was with decent insurance coverage just on IUIs, nothing compared to what people spend on IVF. But I never called anyone out, I just learned who to avoid and when and stopped using FB, and really most of my good friends were pretty sensitive. Like a pp said maybe she just got some bad news? Try to cut her some slack and not take it too personally, it's a lonely thing to go through and it really turns you into a different person, it sucks.

@sweetbabyrahe I do have some that I've been wearing but they're pretty bulky and almost as bad as the disposables. Do you have a brand that you like?

I'm sorry, I got them when I was bf DS1 3 years ago, so I don't remember. Some of them are medela I think. I just felt like they were softer but they still bunch up and add bulk

I hate my avent ones. They are relatively soft but get heavy and gross when they fill up

Medela pads are pretty awesome. I got a few with my pump and I think next time I buy I may just splurge for more medela ones

Nuk ones are soft but flat so they don't contour to your boob as nice and thus shift more

Ditto, I use oxiclean with every load of white/light baby clothes and so far it's gotten all stains out.

I use the johnson's brand nursing pads and like them. The are very absorbent but don't bunch up.

@targetpopcornmomma I do think they could have...you should probably get new ones.  That is such a pain!!

Re: breast pads.  I love the medela ones.  I bought a huge box from target and they are great.  The pump came with a sample pack and they were crap.  Unsure why they give our samples that suck but the ones you buy are wonderful. You'd think they want to entice people to buy them!

Re: infertility.  My friend who has been struggling to get pregnant for a good bit just called to tell me she's pregnant!  I AM SO HAPPY FOR HER!!!!  She came down and met/snuggled LO the beginning of her cycle.  As I told her, clearly Little Egg saw what a good snuggler her mom was and was determined to get fertilized.

LO only slept 2 hrs all night...now she's napping in my arms and I'm afraid to put her down. She's been so fussy. Just keep telling myself..3 week growth spurt..3 week growth spurt..today is going to be a long day. At least she's sweet to look at

@lilwatz your IF story made me teary. I think IF success stories always will. Congrats to her and hopefully you will be going to snuggle her little one in several months. Tell her congrats!

Time for a vent!!

I've let this build since Thanksgiving and I'm about to explode thinking about it.

When we went to thanksgiving on DH's side of the family my SIL kept referring to Emmy as "it". Does "it" sleep at night? Does "it" cry a lot? I held it together not to cause a scene at thanksgiving but it's eating me up that I didn't say anything. She is 24 so she should know better.

We are going to Charleston with his family this weekend and she'll be there. I really don't want to go!! I'm gonna end up freaking out on her. This is the same sister who ruined our wedding reception because she got so drunk that she ended up breaking into the wine cabinet at the county club and stealing wine, the police came and we ended the night with her and my family in a screaming match.

What would you do?

@mommymeg143 I agree with calling her out.  DH kept referring (not intentionally ) to a friends little girl as it while we were at dinner with them  After 2 or 3 times the wife just goes "we know its a girl now, she's here."  That got the point across and DH was better the rest of dinner.  Thankfully, they still like us and we go out with them regularly (it helps that the husband and DH have been friends since t-ball). If being subtle doesn't work I would get snarky if my husband didn't say anything.  Your SIL sounds like a real peach and reminds me of first H's sister.

DD spit up this morning and has been super clingy and awake, she finally feel asleep on my chest and after sleeping for about 30 minutes I was able to lay her in her boppy and she's not fussing.  Now I need to try and eat some lunch so I don't get sick.  Having hypoglycemia and a newborn has not gone well on her clingy days.
