when was your first sonogram and what did you think?

My first visit was at 5 wks. And I scheduled my second one at 9 wks. Is it too late? Doc wanted to do a sonogram at 6wks (now), but I thought that it would be too early... What do you think?

My first was yesterday, which dated me at 6w5d.  My doctor told me that 6w3d was the soonest they could usually detect the heartbeat.  If you have a choice, and are anxious to know if there is a heartbeat, you might want to do it sooner than 9 weeks.  I'm way too anxious to wait that long!

I had my first one today at 7 weeks and saw my little ones heartbeat. So awesome!

I had my first one at 6 weeks (last week for me) and it blew my mind to already see and hear the heartbeat.

I had mine two weeks ago at 6 weeks 0 days and saw the baby and heartbeat. Was told too early to hear heartbeat but definitely saw it.

Same. Mine was at 6w0days and we saw both heartbeats but couldn't hear them.

I had my first u/s at 5 weeks 1 day but it was too small, then another at 7 weeks 1 day and saw the little bean and heart beat! I couldn't handle waiting until 9 weeks, personally, but I'm also super paranoid.

I had my first at 7 weeks and was anxious to wait that long. 9 weeks would be too much for me!

I measured 6w6d and saw and heard the heartbeat. It was amazing.

I have mine today. I am very  nervous and couldn't sleep lastnight. I hope everything is okay in there. Today I don't even feel pregnant....

Mine isn't until 18 weeks! Which is crazy to me. But apparently that's par for the course here. How can I possibly wait that long? My doctor will start looking for the heartbeat at 10 weeks with a fetal doppler, but still. It's insane.

my 1st won't be until 10 weeks.  Earliest my midwife will do it is 9 weeks but that would be thanksgiving so I pushed it.

With dd I was 6 weeks 6 days(We saw the heartbeat). I had my first appointment scheduled for the 25th but they called to reschedule so it's on the December 5th, hopefully she can schedule me for a sonogram before Christmas.

We had ours yesterday at 6 weeks and 5 days. We were able to see a heartbeat but not hear, I am not sure if that is because its too early to hear it of if you can't heat through a transvaginal US. We have another at 9 weeks. I however am seeing an RE and that is why we get so many looks at sweet baby!

I'm scheduled to have one when I'm almost 12weeks! I'm so impatient, I want to know what's going on in there with my little one! So ladies if you had yours early at 6 weeks or whatever, be happy. Some of us aren't that lucky

I had mine today and I'm 7w1d, but the baby was measuring 6w5d.. we saw the hb and got some good pics

I had my first by my RE at 5w3d and we saw the sac and it measured on track. We have another tomorrow at 5w6d to see the fetal pole. Next week at 6w3d hopefully we will see the hb!

With numbers one and two, 20 weeks. This time around, I am scheduled for my first appointment and ultrasound at 10.5 weeks. That's December 29th. I was hoping to see baby before Christmas, but I am glad I at least don't have to wait until 20 weeks again!

It may be too early, but has nothing to do with the transvaginal.

Went in Monday on the 17th for my first appt, we did a dating scan and found out I was 5 weeks 6 days. Just saw the sac but everything looked good. Going in for the heartbeat on the 4th of December at 8weeks!

I had my first midwife appointment last week at 6w2d. My first ultrasound is scheduled for tomorrow at 7w2d because my dates are so off and I've had some spotting. If I didn't need a dating ultrasound I would be waiting until 12-13wks for my first.

Oh and with DS it was at 9 weeks and it was such a great pic. He looked like a little gummi bear. I'm happy it wasn't earlier because it was such a great image not a blob on a screen.

Just came back from our first. They dated me closer to 6 weeks due to the baby's size (which has me a little worried) but we definitely saw the heartbeat at 111bpm so that provided some relief.

With both of my other kids, we didn't have the first sonogram until closer to 12 weeks. However due to my miscarriage in January, I'm now a little high risk.

I have my first one scheduled for Dec. 2nd which will put me right at 9 weeks. I can't stand the thought of waiting two more weeks! I want to see it now! :-) But apparently the office I chose won't do them before 8 weeks and that would have put us right at Thanksgiving. So we will wait until the week after.

A lot of folks getting early ultrasounds are getting them because of some high risk situation whether it was infertility, past mc, hormone issues, or other known lady part issues. I am one of these people, my ultrasound is scheduled for friday and I'm freaking the hell out because I have never made it to a heartbeat. So I would say consider yourself lucky if your doc has confidence your body and little bean are doing well enough on their own to not be bothered.

My first isnt til 8 weeks. With previous pregnancies, I went in at 6 weeks because of bleeding. If all is normal and well, my office won't see you til 8-9 weeks. Hoping we won't need to be seen until my appt at 8 weeks.

With my first pregnancy, my initial ultrasound was at 8w4d. It was awesome. This time it will be 8w1d. Nine weeks isn't terrible. Consider it a bonus that you'll get to see a more developed baby!

My first u/s was at 6w6d but when they took the measurements it back tracked me 1 week:: so I was actually 5w6d with a heartbeat! My next will be in 4 weeks dec 12th. At that time I will be 9w6d hopefully my baby is growing!!!

As a follow up question....did any of your partners/husbands/bfs go with you to your first u/s? I plan on bringing my DH with me when I go on Monday (I'll be 6 weeks and some change) but I feel kinda lame/overexcited. Is that dumb?

My first sonogram will be Dec 8th, and I'll be 9w2d at that point. It feels so far away, but I'm sure it will be here before I know it! I'm nervous and excited, and also very glad that DH will be able to be there with me.

I'm due mid-July and had my first set of blood tests last week at 5w 3d. I don't have an ultrasound now until the last week of December (12w). I'm so excited, I just want it to be December now! Haha

My first will be at around 20 weeks just like with my other children. At least I should get to hear the heartbeat somewhere between 10 and 12 weeks.
