Sorry if this post has been done before, I'm new here and this is my first post!
This is my first pregnancy and I'm super excited because my fiancee and I have been TTC for about 7 months. I haven't been to the OB yet, but my guess is that I'm around 5 weeks. Obviously I won't be showing for some time, but I was just curious about when everyone else's bump started to show during thier first pregnancy??
I gained weight, and looked heavier by 20 weeks. But I didn't have much of a true bump until closer to 24 weeks. I was in my sister's wedding at 13 weeks, and no one knew I was pregnant. I went to another wedding at 20 weeks where I saw friends I hadn't seen in years. I could tell people were looking at me like "is she pregnant? Did she get fat?" so I usually started conversations telling people that I was pregnant so they didn't have to wonder.
18/19 weeks I started to notice a bump that was not bloat related. I'm 34 weeks 5 days now and I'm still noticing the "Holy cow, is she pregnant?" looks from people who I see on a regular basis and my pregnancy has just never come up in conversation so they didn't know. (Meaning they are just NOW noticing my bump at 8 months pregnant.)
I guess I am one of those who are just getting fat. Lol. I'm 11 weeks and 2 days and I'm showing if I wear something tight. And yes I gained weight all over (10 lbs actually), but there is definitely a distinct bump regardless of what I ate/gas/whatever else. I have a really short torso and was only 102 lbs and body fat was only 11% (which technically should have impaired ovulation.. but didnt) before I got pregnant, and while I'm sure it's just uterus bump showing and not yet the lime-sized baby, I definitely have one!
I would say for me it was 21-22 weeks that I felt I looked pregnant. With my second I was on a cruise at 23 weeks and had to tell people I was pregnant (as to why I couldn't have alcoholic drinks), so even then they weren't assuming anything.
By 25 weeks I would say others could tell for sure.
December 2014 November Siggy Challenge: How I Feel in Third Tri
I must have started showing earlier than most FTM...I had a small bump around 14 weeks it just continues to grow larger. I think that around 17 weeks it was obvious to others...
The first time a stranger actually noticed I was pregnant was 38 weeks. I was at my niece's birthday 2 months before my due date and my sister in law's family thought I lost the baby since I really didn't have any noticeable bump.
I am in my first pregnancy at 8 weeks and I have a petite build, my husband says you can't tell any difference but obviously my pants are tighter and I think it is noticeable and feel bloated in everything I try to wear. My sister is taller, has wider hips and didn't show until she was 32 weeks. I think it varies on your body type and your baby.
I had a small, hard bump around 16-17 weeks with #1, but no one could notice it but me unless I went out of my way to accentuate it.
I'd say I was visibly showing by 20 weeks. I looked back at my pregnancy blog, and I also noted that DH was able to feel movement by touching my belly at 22 weeks. I'm so looking forward to that part of pregnancy again.
I thought I was showing at about 16 weeks, looking back at pictures it was closer to 20-22 weeks that I had a noticeable baby bump
Yes, this exactly! Funny how my perception at the time and what I can see now by looking back at pictures is a little bit different.
This is so true, bc when I was pg with DS, I remember taking a picture of myself around 15-16 weeks, thinking I had a cute baby bump, but in reality, I dont think I really showed with a true bump until closer to 19-20ish weeks.
I am 8 weeks and am visibly pregnant. There is no hiding it, I have to wear full mat clothes. I know there's a lot of bloat, but when I had my ultrasound we realized my belly popped out sooner than normal was due to two large fibroids that I have. They're posterior and pushing my ute out.
With my first I didn't even "find out" (I knew in the back of my mind but due to circumstances and being young and dumb didn't test) until about 3 months. I wasn't showing at the point. I think I was about 5 months before I started showing really well. I am really tall (5'11) and at the time was about 170lbs, so some of it was hidden really well.
Every woman's body is different. I've heard women say they followed the same pattern as their mothers but I have no idea how accurate that is.
