@Pitchslap I still haven't bought cookie butter yet due to my lack of self control. I feel like all of your posts are the little devil on my shoulder saying "you know you want it.... Just have one little spoonful"
See this is why you're so hot. I listen to the devil every time. I could learn from you.
Ugh, after falling asleep on me E is throwing a fit in his crib. Why can't the sleep thing be easy?!
((Hugs)) Have you ever looked into talking to a baby sleep consultant? I just hate how hard this is for you and I I wish I could help. Maybe a pro could.
Now DH is sick with what KJ and I had. I tried to tell him but he insisted he wouldn't get sick. Now he's miserable and we have a wedding to go to tonight. I was looking forwad to it. I just hope there's an open bar....
And now I remember why I haven't baked anything in recent months. LO has been taking consistent 2 hour naps this week. I've been thrilled. Today I decide to take advantage of it and bake choc chip cookies. Exactly 2 minutes before the first batch is due to come out, LO is screaming and will only sleep on my chest. DH was supposed to grab the cookies but I hear lots of banging around in the kitchen so lord only knows what he's doing. All I want is some cookies (and now probably beer.)
Ok all this talk of cookie butter We don't have it here. Can someone mail me some. I will I return mail you ketchup chips or something else "Canadian" in return.
@megsw85 I found something at No Frills. There was a random brand that sound like the TJs one, there was also a "decadent" brand one.
I think LO must be going through a growth spurt. He ate like a horse this week, and he's been taking nearly 4 hour naps this weekend! I'm so not used to it that I keep not starting to do anything for fear that well, obviously LO's going to wake up any minute. Not so. Hurray for lazy?
Everything is so different with a toddler. I just had to search Cal's toy box for my whisk.
I had both boys on a monitor (2 different ones) until yesterday. I only stopped using a monitor for G because Lo has taken and hidden the parent end. I'm pretty sure it's in the trash and I'm not digging, so it may be fate that G has gotten old enough to be un-monitored.
I have decoy duplicates of favorite toddler theft kitchen items which I leave in the bottom drawers. I have a secret stash of a whisk, measuring cups and spatula high up because they kept disappearing when they were lower.

Superstore Meg. I just pulled it out of the cupboard to take a pic for you and am now eating a couple spoonfuls... Anyhow, my iPhone is dead. As soon as its charged enough to turn on I'll post a pic. The brand is Penotti and its Speculoos Cookinotti.

I will totally mail it to you if you PM me your address. I finally broke down and bought my first jar last week. Everyone needs this in their life.
Total nap fail today. We silver linings-ed this one and make it early bedtime for both. Now it's in home date night with spinach ravioli in Alfredo sauce with scallops and roasted asparagus. And eating it with both hands slowly!
@violet1183 I had the same feelings last night. We took the boys to Texas Roadhouse (don't judge- it is great for kids who love peanuts and noise!) but even for a raucous family restaurant our kids were out of control. G just wanted to keep walking across the whole restaurant to get his peanuts "5 at a time" in his hand and Lo wanted to play toddler take off and run away to play chase. And of course out kids didn't eat a darn thing. Also every other kid in the place had a phone or iPad and 1. Lo won't watch anything 2. DH is adamant about no screens at dinner table so basically we took turns standing with our beer playing defense. I ate 2 bites of salad and had to just pack the rest up. The boys had a blast and people around us seemed to somehow think they were cute but man, that was just exhausting.
Can anyone recommend a good toy vacuum? I want to get one for Miss A but there are so many options!
We have the mini dyson because I have a dyson and it looks JUST like it! And it has two different motors to turn on and actually does a little vacuuming. And it pops balls around. It is the best! Got it from one step ahead.
@numbersgirl08 the balsamic roast beef French dip sandwiches were so yummy. We added some sautéed mushrooms and bell pepper. I can't wait for leftovers on Tuesday!
DH has me confused. He told me that every time I bring up a tummy tuck he gets sad that I would want to take away something that is a sweet reminder to him that I bore his children. I can't tell whether he is genuinely attached to my mummy tummy or he just wants to spend the money else where. I'm very cynical and I'm sure he's being genuine but it just seems like such a weird thing for him to like since we, uh have two kids to remind us of that. And a c-section scar. So, there's like lots of evidence, ya know?
I feel like Benjamin is setting me up for some sort of Iron Mom competition.
Scenario: 34+ weeks pregnant. Toddler falls asleep on mom's lap after requesting a book during evening bottle (basically never happens).
Challenge 1: Remove silly dinosaur jacket which toddler insisted on wearing over footie pajamas. CHECK (with light assistance from DH).
Challenge 2: Nebulizer Treatment on sleeping toddler. CHECK (DH assistance only with reaching and opening medication package).
Challenge 3: Remove footie pajamas and change poopy diaper on sleeping toddler who keeps rolling over to get more comfortable. CHECK (DH long gone by this point).
Challenge 4: Transfer sleeping, freshly diapered toddler to crib. CHECK.
Wow not having G on a monitor anymore is super liberating. Who the hell knows what went on up there after we left. All I know is it was quiet while we hung out downstairs and he's asleep now!
Thanks for the compliments girls! The wedding was awesome! The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was yummy and fun. They had an open bar, good food (half southern classics like fried chicken and mac n cheese and the other half traditional Hatian food) and a great DJ. DH was in a good mood and we danced all night! My feet will probably still hurt tomorrow. We believe in dancing at weddings. We think of it as our gift to the couple. I'm trying to wind down to go to bed but I am on a high. I am so happy for the couple.
M woke up at 4:50 and is progressing to excited "ready to get up noises". I'm about about to go in there and tell him in no uncertain terms that this is BS and he needs to go back to sleep. Think it will work?
Logic and reason are my go-to toddler parenting strategies. They also love a good power point presentation on the importance of eating the food that has been prepared for them in a civilized manner
@subliminalrabbit - in reading up on extended breastfeeding this weekend I actually came across an article talking about toddlers turning orange. Apparently breastmilk is high in beta carotene. So depending on if LO is eating a lot of other things rich in beta carotene ... maybe it's that?
I hope it's just your lightbulbs though so you don't have anything to worry about whatsoever!
