For a girl we are going with Charlotte Aurelia after my grandmother, and for a boy I am stuck with Hugh (that's DH name and has been the name of every male in his family for 10 generations so far) Justin (My grandfathers name.
When I was pregnant with DD (06-07) I announced on a board that her name was going to be Emma Kimberly. Emma was #232 on the popular names list at that time and I loved that. The month she was born, Emma had jumped to number 1! I'm not announcing anymore lol. One thing is that I was given a TV name, and my last name happens to be the name of a popular TV show also (both from the early 80's) so DH and I have settled on a TV driven name for a boy or a girl :-)
We like savannah Nicole or Aubrey Nicole for a girl .... I love the nick name sav and bri .... ) if it's a boy we like Aiden Jacob.... Still searching though

Nope, Emma was #3 in 2007, #2 in 2006 (and every year since 2003). In the year 2000 it was already #17. Of course, in 2008 it hit #1, but it was popular well before that. Names don't go from 200 to 1.
Both the names we like are super popular and I'm not happy about it.
If it's a girl it will be Lillian (Lily) for DH's grandmother. We have lots of other girls names we love and I'd prefer something less popular but this one isn't negotiable.
We're having a harder time with boy's names. The only one we both like right now is Hunter. It was supposed to be my/my sister's name (my mom thought she was having a boy but we turned out to be twin girls) and I've always loved it. It's bizarre to me that it's become this hugely popular name now. I really don't want to end up with a super trendy name but I just can't find anything else I like. I guess we've still got plenty of time!
We like for a girl either Aleah Michelle or Lily Grace. For a boy, I'm not 100% sent on it but either Matthias Ivan or Matthew Ivan. Ivan is my husband's father's name. But any suggestions for cute boy names would be nice or an opinion on this one would be helpful. I want it to have a good ring to it. Also my husband's name is Michael. I do like Connor Michael but he's not too keen on it. Hopefully we will just have a girl I'm totally ok either way.

I have to say, I'm really digging these names. The baby names board had so much ugly, so this list is very refreshing!

I've had names picked out since I was little. My husband & I actually talked about names when we were still dating.
Girls Adeline Grace Aili (this was my great grandmas name; however, my second cousin had a girl last year & named her girl that) Sylvia (my Grandmas name)
We've only agreed on one boy name-Jacob James....here's hoping we don't have twin boys
Chris and I decided on names months before we even started to try. For a boy we want Grayson Cole and for girl we want Addison Rose. It was the only names we could agree on. He shot down all my other name ideas...
I'm trying like hell to talk my husband into "Jocelyn" for a girl but he is digging his heels in because he knew ONE Jocelyn in high school who was apparently repulsive in every sense of the word.
This signature is all for YOU. I'm on mobile and can't see crap.
For a girl, we are thinking either Audrey Grace or Maya Jane. For a boy, maybe Owen. I need more boy inspiration.
DD is Violet Sloane.
We are on the same wavelength @Ruby412. Our top girl name is Audrey Claire. For a boy we like Henry or Edison, but I actually love the name Owen as well!
We have absolutely zero names for girls. If its a boy, he will likely be Gavin James which was in the running for my middle child (ultimately the middle name was the deciding factor as both of my boys are named after someone... my oldest after his grandpa, my little one shares DH's middle name which didn't go well with Gavin and James is DH's best friend)
I have always (since I was 16) known what I want to name my first daughter - Nora Anna (after my mom who died when I was 16 and my grandmother who died 4 years ago)
Boys names are so much harder. I want the names to have meaning, after a relative or even place name that is significant to us. But I also don't want to go too old-fashioned. I have a baby names list you all could vote on if you like (link in siggy) all the names have meaning to us, it's just so hard to narrow it down to just 1 boy name.
My first 2 girls names are set tho. the other girl options are just options...

We aren't absolutely set on any names yet, but we have them narrowed down for now
For a girl Adalyn (or Madalyn) Nichole (my middle name) For a boy Caysen Anthony (my maternal grandfathers middle name)
Our other 2 are Austen George (husband and his fathers middle name) and Bryden Edward (my dads and his fathers middle name) so we wanted to stick to "en" for a boy and the same sound for a girl
We have Elysian Seraphina for a girl or if it's twin girls we will use each name as a first and it will be Elysian Dove and Seraphina Rosemary. For boys we have Scout Crockett and Bran Strider. If it's just one then Scout Bran.
It's near impossible for DH and I to compromise on a girl name. I like Kiera, Halle, and Harper.. But I don't love them. DH likes Harper a lot, but I just worry about the popularity of the name. I think he would name our little girl Deborah or Barbara if he could.
If it's a boy he will be named Cameron Michael. We have quite a few other boy names as well. So, were set if we have all boys!
Oh, whoops! I had no idea, @justinslovo! That link is really old anyway; I should probably update it soon.
I'm really enjoying everyone's name choices so far.
Believe it or not, my husband and I don't really talk about names. I've got tons picked out, the trouble is I just have to convince him to use one of them! We didn't name Oscar until after birth because we didn't know the sex, but still, I think it will take us quite a while to narrow down and come to a consensus this time around.
Here are some of my personal favorites:
Cordelia -possible meaning is 'daughter of the sea'. I lost my mom in March and her favorite place in the world was the beach. She lived on an island. Her 'life celebration' ceremony was at the beach. So, I like this, but all the more so for the significance. We would probably call her Cora in day to day life.
Rosemary -'dew of the sea' - similar to Cordelia. Probably Rose/Rosy.
Iris -goddess of the rainbow, Greek like my name.
Allegra - music
Hazel
Juliet - July baby
Anastasia - My mom was Stacie.
Penelope
Ronan - Little seal. Ocean names for boys are more difficult!
August
Julius - July baby
Elliot
Ezra
Samuel - much longed for child, 'God has heard'. I love this story.
Simon
Rowan
I can't decided if the July thing is cheesy yet or not.
Ok, way too much. Sorry for the TL;DR!
We've always loved the name Juliette and I had no idea it had anything to do with July! We won't find out the sex until he or she is born, but now I'm even more excited about the name.
I've been pregnant twice before, once with a boy and once with a girl. This time is EXACTLY the same as when I was pregnant with my son, down to the food cravings and early fattened up face. As a result, we've got our boy name ready to go, and not a girl name in sight. Roman Michael
My hubby and I like different and uncommon names. We are having twins so we are thinking of two of each gender until we find out the sex. We really like Faelyn/Faelen. However I cannot name both children that. We have a weird last name and I love nick naming. We are really struggling with loving any other name.
I am kicking around Melanie, its a classic yet under used name but the biggest draw is I love the nickname "Lainey" and to a lesser extent "Melly". Plus I kinda like the way Melanie rolls off the tongue. I am just worried the name won't mesh well with our last name

- Maddison
Boy: Jack Gerald or Levi Edward.
Girl: Audrey, Eliza or Fiona with Ann for middle name.
boy- Declan Roy
Clueless on a girl's name, but MN will be Marie just like me, both our moms, and H's sister.

I love quinn, and ivy actually sounds good with it and our last name!
Boy is still going to be maximus prime. We will not have any other options for a boy.
