Anyone already have names chosen? Or ideas that you've talked about with your partner?
I always love seeing all the lovely names people choose for their children.
For a girl I love Charlotte (nn Charlie) Rae (Rae after my sister, Charles is my DH middle name). I know it's so trendy right now but I've loved the name forever.
Boys are so hard for me! I used to love Benjamin/Ben and my husband still likes it but I'm not head over heels for it. I like Lucas but my husband doesn't.
I'm not going to worry about names until after the anatomy scan, then we only have to worry about one sex!
We haven't chose any yet. We had our DD's name picked out before we were even pregnant, so that was super easy once we found out it was a girl. Boy names are super difficult for us because we need a name that translates in English and Spanish. Our favorite boy name, Lucas, has just gotten so popular, I am not sure I would use it.
Boy names are so easy for us. We have Had boy names picked out for so long. Hunter John is first choice - Hunter is my moms maiden name and I really want to incorporate my family into it, John is DH's grandads name.
Calvin Leo is our back up name.
Girl names are way too hard. We never actually agreed on a girl name when pregnant with DS. It's like pulling teeth getting DH to think of girl names.
I threw out the idea of Joyce Kristen nn Joy, but he's not sure since it sounds old. Joyce is my grandmas name and I've always been close with her, she's currently battling pancreatic cancer and might not be around when baby is born. Kristen is after my sister who passed away 4years ago.
Oh, whoops! I had no idea, @justinslovo! That link is really old anyway; I should probably update it soon.
I'm really enjoying everyone's name choices so far.
Believe it or not, my husband and I don't really talk about names. I've got tons picked out, the trouble is I just have to convince him to use one of them! We didn't name Oscar until after birth because we didn't know the sex, but still, I think it will take us quite a while to narrow down and come to a consensus this time around.
Here are some of my personal favorites:
Cordelia -possible meaning is 'daughter of the sea'. I lost my mom in March and her favorite place in the world was the beach. She lived on an island. Her 'life celebration' ceremony was at the beach. So, I like this, but all the more so for the significance. We would probably call her Cora in day to day life.
Rosemary -'dew of the sea' - similar to Cordelia. Probably Rose/Rosy.
Iris -goddess of the rainbow, Greek like my name.
Allegra - music
Hazel
Juliet - July baby
Anastasia - My mom was Stacie.
Penelope
Ronan - Little seal. Ocean names for boys are more difficult!
August
Julius - July baby
Elliot
Ezra
Samuel - much longed for child, 'God has heard'. I love this story.
Simon
Rowan
I can't decided if the July thing is cheesy yet or not.

Ok, way too much. Sorry for the TL;DR!
Your names are all beautiful to me. I love Cordelia..such a sweet name.
I can't decided if the July thing is cheesy yet or not.
You crack me up. All of your names seem so romantic! As for July names... What if you go early?!?
Haha! Well, I guess it takes away the cheese factor! A Juliet born in June ain't no big thang.
Yeah, I guess I do tend toward the ... Flowery. *blush*
@wineandcake, I really like Joyce! It seems very sweet and Joy is refreshing. However, our kiddos' surname is one syllable, so June, Pearl, Joy, etc, are all out.
We have thrown around names here and there but unfortunately it usually leads to an argument because neither of us really wants to compromise. We have decided to wait to find out whether it's a boy or a girl before we discuss it anymore. Then we will only have one set of names to argue about rather than two.
DH and I actually agree on names pretty well, as long as it's something classic (for me) and can be shortened to a very short (preferably one syllable) nickname (for him... He hates long names, lol). We both like Calvin (Cal) for a boy, and I want to use Catherine (Cate) as either a first or middle name for a girl in memory of my mother.
We've agreed NOT to settle on anything too early though in case we share a name we love and someone's like 'I had a cousin who turned into an axe murderer who was named _______ ' or whatever. You get the idea. People (usually) don't tell those stories once the baby's born! Love seeing your ladies ideas though! I've always loved names.
We took a really long time to choose DS' names, like read through every single name in the 10000 boy baby names book and still struggled. So there will be no discussion yet until we know the gender and get much closer. We also didn't share our name choice with anyone until after he was born because we didn't care to hear any feedback from the peanut gallery of our family and friends
Thanks @Mei+Mei I think its a great name and would mean so much to my family if we used it. We have a pretty horrible last name, rhymes with 'Corn' and starts with an H. It's so hard to pick names that work with it.
We have a really hard time agreeing on a single name. Right now our boy name is Lincoln Henry (Henry is my DHs fathers middle name) and we really like Olivia Lynne or Paige Sophie. Both girl middle names are family names.
No boys names picked yet but for a girl I like Savannah or Autumn. I'm sure I'll change my mind a lot over the next 8 months! My daughters name is Hadley.
We have a backup for a girl name (Lily Ann), but not a boy name. We decided that if we find out were having multiples we'll be sure to have multiple for each sex, so we will find out next Friday if we need to brainstorm some more!

For a boy we like Liam Alister and a girl will be Sawyer but we're back and forth on the middle name. Either Elizabeth after my husband's grandma or Rose because my maiden name is flowers.
We had a tough time with a girl's name last time around as we liked Teaghan Amelia but got some very negative feedback from family. As per my ticker below, we went with it anyway! This time around we already have Zoe Olivia chosen for a girl.
For a boy it will be Ronan Michael. Long story regarding Ronan but it's similar in spelling to the Ronin in Japan which is where we met. Michael is in memory of my Dad who passed away 6 years ago.
H referred to the baby as Max last night, but says he only agrees to it if his name is Maximus Decimus Meridius. (Gladiator reference...) Lol! Says he hates Maxwell. Ugh.
DH's uncle named his son Maxim about 5 years ago and at first all I could think of was the magazine. Now, hearing it on a child, it as grown on me and I quite like it.
Yes we have both a boys name and girls name prepped and waiting. We will not be telling anyone! We made that mistake last time and never heard the end of how much people hated her middle name. 8-|
I love Avery, but I'm on the fence because of how popular it's gotten. Still my top name for a girl though, followed closely by Reese. Boys are so much harder... We liked Pierce when I was pregnant with my daughter but it isn't as strong as I would want. I'm liking Hunter lately but it was my sister's dog's name and my husband can't get over that. The dog has been dead for 10 years and he had major behavioral issues so my sister had to keep him in the basement. No one ever really though about the poor dog so it's not the first thing that comes to mind when I hear Hunter.
We only have a girls name picked out and it could certainly change but it fits all of name rules. Charlotte Amelia (not Charlie though in my opinion that's a boys name)
We had names sort of picked out during our last pregnancy and will most likely use them for this baby For a girl, we love Valerie, but are torn on middle names. I think we'll end up with Valerie Sue, since we both have grandmothers named Sue.
For a boy, we are going with Maximus. H wants to do Maximus Prime, and honestly I might just go with it.
Married July 19, 2014.
Inherited one stepson, so excited to continue our family!
BFP#1: June 15, 2014. MC June 20, 2014.
BFP#2: July 11, 2014. MMC July 27, 2014. Naturally passed tissue August 5, 2014.
I'm obsessed with Penelope for a girl. For a boy I like Domenic and Dante but we havent really talked about it. I'm sure I'll change my mind 20 times after going through all the possibilities.
Chrisoula for a girl nn "Sula" (DH is greek, tradition is to name after DH's parents, already did the boy.) Also love Viola (in the off chance that we have g/g twins lol)
for a boy I have no idea. Leaning towards Frangiskos/Frankos to honor my late grandfather. but I also love Elias, Silas, Adamantios(Adam) and Christos(Chris)
We've had a boy name picked out since we started dating 8 years ago. If it's a boy, he'll be named Parker, after DH's great-grandfather (who raised him). I'm not a huge fan of the name, but I know how much it means to DH, so I'm ok with it. I was thinking Jeremy for a middle name. That way I can call him PJ if I want.
For a girl, first name will be Autumn. Not so sure about middle name though. I really like Victoria, but DH says it sounds old & dusty. :-/
Since our son is named after DH, I get full authority on any other children's names. DH and I are both widows. I would like to come up with a tribute to our 1st spouses. His 1st wife's name was Samantha Jean and my 1st husband's name was Michael Richard.
So for a girl I was thinking Michaela Jean For a boy I was thinking Samuel Michael or Samson Michael. I am not fond of Samuel and actually really like Samson but wonder if its too out there.
If I end up scrapping the tribute idea some others are:
Jack Cullen (Cullen is a family name, not naming him after Twilight lol) Charlotte Marie (my middle name is marie) Savannah Marie Eli Christian
I will probably change my mind a million times before now and July lol

This is such a wonderful way to honor your first spouses. So touching and sweet!
@RivieraBound I really like the name Samson and don't think it's too out there at all. I think that those are lovely names to honour your 1st spouses with.
