4:40 AM is an acceptable time to start spam right? I've been up for 45 minutes after our awesome Mexican food dinner did a number of my stomach.....

I'm quite stressed about our help situation when the babies are born. The plan was/is for my awesome sister to be here for two weeks to help us. She has the ability to work from home, so she offered. Amazing of her!!!! Now, she is facing another hip surgery (undetermined hip pain that doctors just keep chopping away at) and while I feel terrible for her, I'm selfishly kept awake at night wondering if she'll be able to help us still. The surgery is schedule for December and she will be on crutches for four weeks. Welllll, the babies will be 34 weeks at Christmas so there is no telling when they will come. I feel so damn selfish, but I'm freaking a little. I haven't brought it up to her because the LAST thing I want is for her to feel bad about it.
I keep running other help options through my head. Mom and MIL can't do it (too old and not physically able), SILs both work 40 hours a week, friends have jobs, etc. If we had one baby I'd be less worried about this, but there are two! Who is helping you (if anyone) when your babies are born?

GTKY: What are you thinking of wearing to your baby shower?? Mine is just over a week away and I need to decide!!

@kefttsc‌ oh no! Hope she recovers quickly, for her sake and yours. When DS was born, my parents couldn't come b/c my mom had open heart surgery right before... It was so tough. But my aunt and uncle drove 16 hours to help us that first week... Bless them. This time around we plan on my folks being here- no surgeries allowed!!

I'm flying to KC today to surprise my big brother on his 40th birthday!!!!! I had a free ticket, so thought I would go for it. Can't wait to see the look on his face!!

No GTKY for me, had my shower 2 years ago with DS. But last time I wore a maxi dress- cute and comfy!

Yesterday was my 24 week U/S and Baby A was at 1 pound 5 ounces and Baby B was at 1 pound 10 ounces. My MFM wasn't overly concern about the weight difference of the twins, but he says I need to gain more weight. At 9 weeks I was 130 and at my last OB appt at 22 weeks I was 144. I did have the nurse at the MFM weigh me before I left and I was at 147. MFM said he wants be to gain at least 30-35 pounds. I could probably add more protein to my diet and eat more small meals. I thought I was doing ok since I have been gaining weight, but now I am a little worried. MFM changed the frequency of my appointments from every 4 weeks to every 3 weeks. He did give me the thumbs up to travel to VA for my baby shower at 27 weeks. (6-7 hour drive). I know some of our MoMs were cut off for travel at 24 weeks.

Edited to add: Both babies are head down. Heartbeats Baby A 136ish Baby B 154ish. Can't remember the exact numbers grrrr.

GTKY: I have been looking for a cute, but casual dress. I might order one from ON. I am also at a lost what to wear for maternity pictures. I kinda hate that I can't wear a cute summer dress and have them done at the beach.

@kefttsc‌ We will have visitors in and out from VA to see the babies once they are here, but not really help. I am sure my MIL will help if we need her, but we have no plan yet. Just counting on each other.

@kefttsc‌ Sorry to hear about your sister. I hope she has a speedy recovery. I think my mom might come here for a couple weeks and DH's mom lives nearby, so we might get a little help from her.

GTKY: I am actually having my shower after the babies are born. I am not cleared for travel and no one really lives around me.

I'm awake!! Boo. Stupid pg rhinitis, my nose is stuffed and runny and seriously annoying. Hoping I can go back to bed for a bit soon. I kept hoping this was just allergies, but the colder it gets here, the more this sinus stuff is sticking around, so I think it's just pregnancy. 

@kefttsc‌ sorry your help might be falling through! I would be overwhelmed too at the thought of twins, I hope you can find someone to come help out. My mom took some time off work, and MIL came into town about 2 weeks after having Evie and stayed for like 10 days. That was more stressful than helpful to be honest. This time I'll have a scheduled c/s, so people will be able to plan vacation time accordingly which I'm thankful for. I think it'll be more keeping Evie busy and happy this time than for the new baby though!

GTKY: My sister is throwing a "dinner", a couples thing, just to celebrate the baby since it's been such a long year getting here. No gifts, just a fun night with a bunch of our friends at a brick oven pizza place. I'll probably wear jeans and a sweater, it's casual.

@kefttsc‌ I just wore a long maxi dress with a pretty necklace. I don't know what I'll do for this one because my last was in June. I'm also up awake and sick due to Mexican dinner. Gross. Also all my family lives here but no one helped me with my first. They stopped to visit but didn't do anything. My uncle has had two his replacements, he took about six weeks to be able to do anything but he's 50 and an unhealthy guy. Hopefully her recovery is smooth, make sure she doesn't skip any pt or workouts they tell her to do because he did and it took him a long time to get back to 100%.

It's 3 am here and I'm catching up on the voice. It seems I only make it to page 1 when I'm sick, which sucks because I'm sick but I also get a little excited to get in on the action! Hope everyone has a good day!

It's so early... Time to look at Pinterest and etsy for home ideas now that the offer is in and we are waiting for a response... I saw these decals on etsy that have me intrigued... The front of the house is kind of boring and we won't be able to afford to do it up for a while... So I was thinking this could give it a little character. Besides... A new pretty garage door is pretty low on the list since the one on the house is newer and there is nothing wrong with it... It's just plain white.. On a White House.. But are the decals cheesy? I never would have thought to do it but I looked at the price of the real carriage door hardware and from the street.. who would know? Maybe I paint it the same soft blue to match the front door? Or both a whole different color? I like standing out a little..

GYKY: I admittedly still don't have a date for my shower... All I know is 2 of my girls offered to throw one.. But I know nothing else and I am ok with that. They'll tell me eventually and until then,I'm happy to leave that in their capable hands. It will be winter so likely a sweater dress, some leggings or tights and boots. Maybe I'll find a cute flowery belt or something to dress it up a little.

@kefttsc‌ on the help.. I don't have much advice. My family is all on the other side of the country and we are having 1 so I think it will be FI and I for a week then he'll go back to work and it will be me for a little while. My mom plans to come out soon after but who knows when I will go and she will be taking off work. She retired last year but there was an opening for her to go back and work 2 more years to increase her retirement significantly so she did it. The day after she signed her new contract I found out I was PG and a couple weeks later my sister found out she was. We were pretty bummed she agreed to go back since we both could have used her

Even though your sister will be recovering, like pp said she may be able to help with sit down tasks... And with 2 babies, having someone to just hold 1 for you would probably make a world of difference?? You could at least plop them down with her while you shower, etc. But again who knows where she will be at with recovery. I wish you luck and let us know!

@cla78 it was #2 the one with the basement.. New appliances and new windows. It's just the smarter choice since we didn't believe the other would come down in price enough to account for replacement windows and a new a/c. But since the other was more cozy looking on the front (the brick, big tree, porch etc) I'm already trying to see what little changes I can make

So I have a question. We are not giving out Halloween candy because every year I buy a crap load of candy and get one or two trick or treater's. Also my garage is behind my house with my back yard on the side and I never see my front yard.

Should I still put up decorations? My mom thinks I should but I feel like it may be false advertising since we're going to a mall instead.

Brrr its 43 degrees out! I am so tired today not sure how work is going to go.

Anyone else getting rib pain already? It only happens when I sit for too long (by that I mean longer then 30 minutes). Im on my feet at work most the day but if its a slow day and Im sitting more my ribs only on the right side hurt so bad. I think its babys positioning. What can I do about it?

GTKY: no idea yet! Mine arent until Jan so probably boots leggings and a cute shirt.

I'm up because I'm nervous about DH taking my crappy old car to work (which the defroster doesn't work correctly on) since Henry and I have an appt today. Dislike. It's one thing to drive around and I wipe the windshield off at a light.... another driving down 95 in Philadelphia. :-S

My shower was 2 years ago for DS - so alas, not something I have to worry about thankfully. As for help at the house - Last time my parents stayed at our house to watch the dog while we were in the hospital. Then it was DH and I for a week. Then my MIL came for a week. Then my husband for another week. Then my parents again. Lol I can only wish (but doubt) I'll get the same help this time around.

Morning all. It's Friday for me! MH and I are taking the day off tomorrow for a growth ultrasound and my MFM doctor appointment (diabetic high risk) so I'm happy to see our little buddy again.

@kefttsc‌ I am sorry about your sister but I had the exact same thoughts as @erobbins09‌ that if she can sit and hold and help it might work! I'm imagining the friends episode with Monica, Chandler, and Phoebe watching the triplets and Chandler suggesting playing them man to man.

Good morning. Its a chilly one here too. I am snuggled in bed so hard to get up!

We got to see LO yesterday she is perfect. It appears she already has long legs like her mamma. Made both of us chuckle.

We aren't really planning on help but I know my mom, mil and sister would all be here in a heartbeat to help if needed. The first 2 will be here quickly after she is born as it is.

Gtky at this point I am not having a shower so no outfit planned.

Good morning everyone! I'm up after my usual 2ish hours of insomnia from 3-5 (I get up at 6)... I don't know what wakes me up. I do pee, but it's not unbearable and I don't think that's what wakes me up. Baby girl is pretty active during that time, I'm wondering f this is waking me up? Who knows... But it makes me cranky!

@kefttsc‌ that sucks about your sister! Fingers crossed everything works out for her, she recovers quickly and is able to help out with the twins.

I don't know who/ if anyone is coming to help out in February. I'm sure both sets of parents will visit, but I'm apprehensive about having anyone actually stay with us at our house during that time.

GTKY: I'm a casual kind of girl, so I'll probably just wear a knit or sweater dress, leggings, and maybe boots, depending on how swollen my feet and calves are! My baby shower still isn't completely finalized... I think it's the second weekend in January...

Up early to get ready for my appointment this morning. Hoping that even though I'm not seeing the specialist, the doctor will clear up my questions I have about my test results and little one's echogenic bowel. FX it's good news and I don't need further testing.

Gtky: I still don't have any showers planned... It's kind of making me nervous. So many people in the beginning wanted to throw one... Now nobody is saying a word.

Morning. At work already I find it ridiculous that I need to be here this early when their daughter is a senior and I'm here until 6. I'm so over this family.
I just received the swatches from the coral and aqua bedding. Omg it even looks cuter in person. I'm still not sure which one! I'm over thinking this for sure!

@kefttsc‌ sorry about your situation. I hope your able to find some help and your sister recovery is smooth. I'm sure it's painful. Since I'm not having twins I should be ok but I do have my mom and MIL that live close to help out if needed.

QTKY: Haven't even thought about it yet. Probably leggings and nice sweater? I do have my blow dry scheduled

My family is quite the cluster fuck lately. My mom broke her hip and has gone into. Severe depression over it. She has been mixing her normal large amounts of alcohol(functioning alcoholic) with her pain medication and this just is not only dangerous but it makes her act ridiculous. I was up until late last night with my sister deciding what we should do if anything. I feel like I'm her kid even though I'm an adult but I shouldn't have to decide what to do for my addict mom. Makes me so mad. I'm not supposed to be getting overly stressed because of our scare but this is not helping..any advice would be appreciated..

To my baby shower I'm planning on wearing somethin navy blue I'm just not sure what yet. It's only two weeks away so I need to start searching

I moved my regular Dunkin Donut Friday breakfast treat to today (Ive had a rough week at work) and felt like I deserved the bacon egg and cheese bagel AND glazed donut a day early.  Now it feels like Friday!

no Shower planned here thank god, the first one stressed me out too much with my MIL, sister and Mom butting heads.

SO. TIRED. Was at Magic Kingdom until midnight, got up at 4 to drive my friend to the airport.

Every part of my body is sore.

GTKY: no shower here unless one of my lovely mom friends surprises us with one. (which TBH I am kind of hoping for, I know I am so tacky )

Hubby called and he got another rain day, so he is off again!

Yesterday he was off too and got to come to the U/S. The last time he saw that babies was at 8 weeks, so I was happy he was there.

Someone tell me if I am just over reacting here:

TLD: Upset that H worked from home yesterday without letting me know - I almost feel as if he were hiding it from me.

I have been trying for years to get H to communicate better. And honestly, he has gotten better, but it's still kinda bad. With his job, he is able to work from home if need be, and does do on a fairly frequent basis. Last week he ended up working from home one day and didn't ever say anything to me about it until I guessed and asked him about it later. I mentioned something then about how it would be nice for him to somehow let me know about days like that.  Speed forward to yesterday, we talked like normal throughout the day,I called him on my way home to let him know I was out of work and he said he was already at the firehouse, this kinda peeved me off because we usually call each other when we are on our way home from work, but he forgets sometimes - but not really a big deal, just an annoyance.  I got home and the alarm wasn't turned on, but I figured he had stopped by on his way to the firehouse. Then there were other little things that made me wonder. This morning I finally asked him if he had stopped by the house on his way to the firehouse - he said yes. But when looking at when the alarm was turned off - I could tell he had been at the house all day. Why the fuck does he need to hide that from me?  I don't really care if he works from home, so why hide it? I called him out on it, and he still doesn't really think he did anything wrong. 

Am I over reacting?

I'm running out the door to the gym. You are a bunch of early birds over here. DS got up at 6 am, and smashed his head into my lip, so I was definitely awake after that. 

Last time my MIL came and helped out for about a week. She is allergic to our cats, so she would drive up in the morning and leave in the afternoon/evening. She did laundry, cooked, cleaned and watched DS when I needed to shower or rest. It was awesome. Then my mom came for about 5 days (extended weekend essentially) and spent the night, so she could help out at 3 am when DS would not go back to sleep after nursing and I was beyond exhausted. So, yay for moms!

To my shower 2 years ago I wore a nice sweater and dark jeans. I don't think we're having a "baby shower" this time, but DH and I like to throw parties. So I think we're going to have a "We're having a baby, come party with us" kind of party where we provide food and such and people come hang out. Still in the planning stage though.

Anyone else getting the crazy wind storms last night/now? I should check traffic and make sure the roads don't have trees diwn.

GTKY: no shower planned so far for me either. My family doesn't do them (jewish/just not that into that kind of thing) I was Kindof hoping mil might but she works with lots of Jewish ppl so she thinks I'd be against it. It came up once but would have been awkward for me to be say somthing the way the condo happened. One of my friends might end up throwing somthing small...we will see. Of my best friends I'm the first with a baby. I havnt actually even been to a baby shower before.

@HailsMom‌ I don't think you're over reacting, per se... only because it seems like such an odd thing to kinda actively hide from you. If it's a one off "oops, it slipped my mind" thing then, yeah it's overreacting. But since he seems to want to go out of his way not to mention it after you RECENTLY said it bothered you.... I think you have a right to feel the way you do.

Good morning ladies!

Yesterday was terrible so I never got on.

So for those wondering how the testing went it was horrible. I have to redo the 3 hour test on Friday. I did the fasting like I was suppose to and fasted that morning as well. Get to the lab they take my blood before giving me the drink. Then they give me the glucose drink after taking my first blood sample.

I go out into the waiting room. And I start to feel bad. Like really bad. I felt shakey and sick. I started to feel that smothered claustrophobic feeling so I walked outside to get some fresh air.

I puked every where in the parking lot. Every bit of the drink I puked up. I puked about 6 times in  a row. The doctor seems to think it was just too much on my body to handle. But reguardless I have to do it again. They want me to wait until Friday so my body has time to re-adjust. 

I think someone mentioned earlier this week they don't understand why women bring their husbands to their glucose test. I discovered why yesterday. After that I was in no condition to drive home. After not eating, then having blood taken, and then vomiting up the drink there was no way I could have driven myself home.

SO for anyone side eyeing women bringing someone with them for the glucose test don't judge to harshly. Not everyone handles getting blood taken the same. Thats the first time I've ever had a reaction like that to getting blood taken while fasting.

@DBJackson25‌ that sucks so much no advise really. I've seen friends have to go through that type of thing and it's just the worst. So sorry you have to deel with it!

1. we are going to see Phantom of the Opera tonight and I'm pretty excited. 

2. I am wearing one of my regular sweaters that I was hoping would be acceptable to use this winter, but it is already really short - I have to constantly pull it down. So, probably won't last much longer. Blah. Looks like I might have to buy more maternity sweaters. Yay for lab coats covering everything though.

3. we are not having any help after the baby is born. We live 12 hrs. from any family so that makes it difficult. But, we are also only having one. 

4. I am planning on wearing jeans and a sweater at my shower. It will be small (mostly just family as I don't have too many friends in the area anymore) and I think it is just at my mom's house, so nothing fancy.

I am subbing for a high school inclusion teacher today and there isn't an extra teachers desk in this class. So today I have some how managed to fit my big ass belly in one of these student desk that are all one peice. My poor squished babies.

@psychobutthead‌ I'm surprised they let you go outside. My Kelsey office doesn't want us to leave the waiting room, or they consider the test invalid.  I find it so funny to see the differences between two offices in the same group, because I feel like there are a lot!

My FIL comes to town today, so I'm bracing myself for 4 days of complaining and fights between. FIL &DH. It already started last night on the phone when DH mentioned that we bought almost all of the groceries for the weekend, so FIL needs to toss over a couple of bucks for his food.  Apparently he thought he was here for a free ride and got mad when DH pointed out that we pay for our food and his all the time when he are visiting him.  Did I mention that we had yo pay for his ticket down here and he "will pay us back"? I'm scared to ask DH if he ever did.  

In other news, I need to find a better way to sleep, my shoulders are KILLING me.  I don't know whether it is from my snoogle or my positioning.  

GTKY: I'm not having a shower, unless my work people surprise me at our January staff meeting,  if that is the case, then I assume I'll be in jeans and a plain shirt.
