It's not 'always like that' but I will say that the board is way nicer than it was when I started lurking (almost 2 years ago). I'm fine with that, I know there are people who were here when I started who think we've gotten too 'puppies and rainbows' but I think most days we've got a good balance.
However, the hateful/vile/malicious/AE/drama comes up every now and again. Sometimes it's someone no one paid much attention to, and sometimes, unfortunately, it involves someone who was well-liked and was thought of as a great board member. Everything goes tits up for a while. Add to that the other drama that's been going on with the mods, Bump Gods, the board which shall not be named, and other boards on here and you've got a perfect storm. And the only way to get something thisclose to a call out about something that bothered a lot of us onto the board with minimal repercussion fear.
Stick around if you want, it's fun and it's crazy. And shit goes down and sometimes takes down people who aren't what you thought they were (again, not saying that's the case with the confessional specifically).
