I want to get her a puppy for Christmas but DH isn't sold on the idea. DD loves animals, especially dogs, and I have missed having a dog since we had to put ours down two years ago. We are home all the time, I don't work, and Em would be over the moon. Plus since DH is against getting her more toys this would be an awesome alternative.
I don't have a plan b yet so I will be interested to see what everyone else says.
We got her a little table and chairs for her room for coloring, tea parties, etc. Besides that, some books, some little Thomas toys as stocking stuffers, and that's about it. We'll be visiting family out of state, so we won't really have the big Christmas morning at home thing. Last year we did a faux-Christmas the weekend before the holiday and will probably do the same this year. I have a huge family so she'll get a ton of gifts and we don't feel the need to do too much. .
DS2 is newly into dinosaurs. I already got him a dino puzzle and a few dinos. The boys have a Melissa and doug wooden train set. We are planning on adding to it. Not sure what else we'll get them.
I'm trying to convince my husband to get a mini-trampoline for the living room.
Em loves her trampoline! Best gift ever! Definitely worth it if you have a high energy kiddo like mine! I've seen Em jump on hers for over an hour sometimes,

I like the mini-trampoline idea too, DD goes crazy in the winter being stuck inside and LOVES to jump so I think this would be a great thing for her. But, I've looked online and they're pretty pricey. Christmas has to be on a budget for us this year since I will be on maternity leave during the holidays.
Missshawnavanb watch kijiji and other online classifieds. I checked every day for over a month before I found ours and then I got it for $80. It's still pricey but the one I got is regularly $130 plus tax in Canada. Ours is the Galt brand.

DS is getting a Thomas Take and Play with two extra engines, Seek and Find book, an ornament, and this hopper toy. Blue Horse Hopper, Pump Included (Inflatable Space Hopper, Jumping Horse, Ride-on Bouncy Animal) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007LX889E/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_2PXrub1QCVRZS
I got mine a doctor kit, a tool kit with a table that has things she can hammer and screw and other such construction things. Then I got her a few matching games. She can't find them by turning them over, but I want her to start to associate which pictures are the same and which are different. I got her the Disney ones because she definitely knows the Mickey Mouse characters.
DD is getting a lil reading nook in her room complete witha down comforter (re-purposed) for the floor, curtains for privacy, a Yogibo bean bag seat and a push light that displays the stars. that's her main "gift." i'm going to try and do it while she sleeps on Christmas Eve! We'll see how that goes... she also is getting a new baby, imagine elmo, bunch of princess stuff, all the toy story movies, a few toddler necklaces as she is dying for some and jeez they make me nervous! so i got a few stretchy ones for her. she has an amazon wish list so i know she's getting a camera (YESSAH!), an art easel, and a Frozen blanket.... should be a super fun Christmas!!! She is totally into it this year!
