Meesh I cannot imagine not being allowed to fart in my own house. Or around my spouse. Nothing hidden here.

And Abby that wasn't aimed at you. See sak's earlier post. But you can send me stuff :-)

it has nothing to do with "not being allowed" it's just rude and gross. lol
Does your H believe the same thing? Or is it a quirk of yours he just puts up with??

    - I dated a guy who was oftended by farts, we had to break up. Lol. Sorry if I'm comfy watching a movie and I know it's a small silent one. There's no effing way I'm getting up. Sorry, no way no how.

    - One friend confided in me that she and her husband had never farted infront of each other. BAM! Divorced within a year. Not hard science at all, but I think being comfortable, even in non glamorous moments says something about marriage.

My gut reaction to this pisses me off. But I can't pinpoint why

I've known mh for...24 years. If being courteous is endangering our marriage, then I'm SOoL

There's a difference between "being comfortable" and being gross. Some people being comfortable with their SO means they gain 100lbs too.

Definitely not meant to piss you off.

I was trying to do that in a joking manner... Tone is very difficult via the interwebs. It definitely seems like mutual respect in your relationship. For me though, i guess it just wasn't how I was raised I guess. (I try not to fart in public, but farting on the couch was nbd). And the couple, well there was a lot more going on than not farting in front of each other. I just haven't heard of many people NEVER doing it. So yeah. Foot in mouth. And sorry!

  • Wow SAK I'm pissed for you! Glad the teacher finally called, but I'd be livid with the nurse and would definitely be calling her and the principal.

    Hope M is feeling ok!

  • I'd be talking with the principal (trying not to yell) and asking what their policy is regarding allergic reactions.

I would have also assumed that if my child was taken to the nurses station that I would be informed, regardless of the situation (headache, cold, etc).

2ish? Or a little before, or after, depending on the kid. R had all of her teeth, minus the 2yr molars by 18 months I think so it was somewhere between then and her birthday. Cashews are softer than, say, almonds, so that might be an easier one to try first.

Aren't whole nuts a choking hazard, though?  When do you stop worrying about choking hazards?

  • Apparently the nurse said she left a voicemail. But I didn't have one. I spoke with her this morning and now I'm spending the day writing up an action plan that will go to the nurse, his teacher, and the principal. My friend has the only other child in the elementary school with an anaphylactic allergy so I called her to ask how it's been handled for her in years past. It seems as though there is no protocol which is crazy. But since there is no specific action that has to be taken, pretty much what I "demand" will be what will become protocol from here on out.
They don't have a policy for this?
    :-O

    Never?

Pretty much, but if they can chew up half a grape or bits of apple, then why not a nut of the same size? We just don't let her walk around with them by herself (usually)

  • I just saw this recipe for dairy free pumpkin pie ice cream (but to me it's more like a sherbert or sorbet?)

    4 bananas
    1 cup pumpkin pureè
    1/3 C maple syrup
    1.5tsp pumpkin spice

    Blend together
    Freeze

  • In kindergarten my daughter was given her Asthma rescue inhaler.  Once she was breathing easy they sent her back to class.  No call or note home.  Crazy!  Since then on my consent form and the medication itself I have it clearly labeled that I want a call if she needs it.  Even if she is breathing better I definitely watch her closely for the rest of the day.  Breathing is something you don't mess with.  Ever.
  • @sarenu1 That wrap is gorgeous!

If you just want to scoot this on over to the UO board, that would be great.  Thanks.

I hear from a few of my VBE's that this wrap is amazing to wrap with. I've had my eye on a few of the repreve ones, I just can never find one long enough for me in the right colors.

Crap, now I want to spend the $188 on it (I'm looking at getting a size 5).  Which I really shouldn't because we are paying for my husband's MBA.

Plus this company is actually local to me.

Well, it's cheaper than finding one on the swap later. I wish I had the 198$ to buy the repreve stripey one on there. Sadly, I do not. I'd have to sell my VV first.

After M's nap mh suggested M and I go out and do something fun. And pick up a few food items. I decided we would go to the store first and hit the park on the way home

He fell asleep before we got to the park. I love this baby. Although my frozen foods are melting as we speak. Lol

Yep! Only $5 for two Grande frappes! Half the pumps were PLENTY sweet. We didn't even have to share b/c I preferred the pumpkin and DH preferred the salted caramel.
