Although I strongly advise against a glass coffee table. My IL's had one at their beach house, and I cannot tell you how many times E got a black eye from it. I don't know if they don't see them because they are glass, or if they are sharper than wooden corners. But that thing was a death trap.

That's cute Stoney. I think all the bright white and light colored accents are the key. Do you have a lot of natural light?
Yes. Honestly, when I saw the house listed online, I thought it needed to be all covered in sheetrock or painted. But when I saw it in person, it was a much brighter, sunnier house than I expected. Then DH's BFF told us how valuable the actual pine is nowadays and that it would be a real shame to ruin it. So now I'm planning to retain a lot of the original pine and paint all the molding and doors white. I figure if we don't love it, we can always go back to plan A.

No kidding! We have one on our screen porch and I barely let DS out there because he is so unaware of it and I'm always saving him from near mishaps.
ETA: Not mention DH whacks his leg on it all the time, too. LOL. I'm going make a pillow for it and turn it into an ottoman one of these days.

After getting a hand-me-down one in college, I will never ever purchase one to decorate a room. Even if I didn't have kids, I would not buy one.
I didn't read the link. But you don't have to pay it forward with the exact same thing. The point is to make someone's day a little brighter, however you choose to do so.
But that's the thing. The article in the link was making the one person who finally broke the streak out to be the bad guy. And it says that the barista asked if the customer would repay the favor for the person behind them. The whole thing just seems silly. It hardly seems like a random act of kindness anymore when someone is asking you to do it, and why do you have to do the same thing the person in front of you did? What if you just want to go do something else?
I just feel like the whole "pay it forward" concept is being misconstrued here when people are prompting it, and people aren't allowed to break from the cycle and do something different without being a bad guy.
And guys, apparently this is an UO, since MK is getting all the love tits. But even when there is an UO, it doesn't really lead anywhere.
@stoneycakes think of all the money you'll save on paint! Also, the more I paint this house, the more panelling sounds like a great option. #panenlingforthewin
