Except for Prairie Home Companion. That show is weird.
I love you
The fact that you love me for this makes me love you back pretty hard. I tried to find a cute gif for this reply and they all made it seem like I was hitting on you, LOL.
So just picture this as a gif. My DS, sitting in his high chair. I hand him some bread that he asked for. He didn't know I buttered it for him. His face lit up and he said "I love you, butter!!!!!"
@mapleme Who said anything about reggae? And the quilt is for the cool evening breeze...and to cover up if you get festive.
The dark is cover enough.
quilt or darkness to cover you, getting "festive" on the beach is like asking for sandpaper in your environment. No thank you.
Well you're on top of a blanket. Just don't let him rub his wiener in the sand first.
And yes. I said wiener.
still just no. sand gets every where. I have not met anyone who rubs their wiener in sand first, but somehow sand gets to places it shouldn't be. If you must get festive at the beach try the ocean instead.
But @violajack, have you tried nursing hands free in your wrap? I was looking up a couple videos yesterday on ring slings (my friend is letting me borrow one), and nursing in a wrap. Apparently there is a way to wrap so you can nurse hands free. I'm not sure how well it'll work, but I'll be giving it a try. I just don't have a NB to try it on right now.
But like you said, it seems like with a ring sling you still need one arm to help support the head.
Also, I'm not sure how much of an UO it is even among classically trained musicians to play in pit orchestras for musicals. Maybe that's just an UO in the orchestral circle. I don't remember anyone ever complaining about that one... we complained more about having to play a crap ton of atonal, minimalist, asymmetric, polyrhythmic piece that had no melody and no crowd appeal.
And @MapleMe, I don't know what jazz you listen to, all the jazz I listen to has a beat.
Instead of "Paying it forward" in the Starbucks drive thru line, why doesn't everyone just put that money to a charity, or to help the poor, or something more worthwhile than a fancy coffee drink. I like my Starbucks too, but really, having and endless stream of "paying it forward" doesn't seem to accomplish a whole lot. People still get their coffee, and you're still paying for coffee.
Re: nursing hands free, I've tried it in both the wrap and the ring sling. It's incredibly awkward in the wrap because you have to unwrap so much of it to change positions. It's slightly less awkward in the ring sling but I still need a hand to support DSs head because he's only two weeks old.
I appreciate the kudos for cooking, but toddler and mama gotta eat, and we can only have waffles so many mornings in a row. I thought boiling the eggs would be easier than scrambling them, but I failed to account for the need to transfer exactly on time and the need to peel.
For the record, I'm cooking dinner too because DH left such a mess last night and me cooking was the lesser evil to cleaning up that disaster in the morning before making breakfast. I'm enjoying a nice glass of red wine, which of course requires cheese, so I grabbed some slices of packaged Swiss cheese because I'm classy like that.
Dang it. I am a weirdo, I guess. My dad used to only ever take us to one restaurant ever if we ate out. Since it was over an hour away from home, we'd always go on a Friday or Saturday night, and on the way home (bc we were all 72 years old and had to eat before the crowd came in I guess) we'd listen to PHC. And yes, I liked it. Except for the depressing Minnesota winter bits. But Car Talk and Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me are more fun.
Hello, long story to explain a stupidly random personal quirk.
Ever since my work changed a year ago and I now have to drive in the car for 40 minutes, I actually listen to *gasp* talk radio while I drive. I feel much more knowledgeable about world events. And the radio sucks.
Maybe this is a confession. UO: Talk radio is ok.
Have I told you lately that I love you?
I listen to NPR for hours every day. It's preset station #1 in my car
It's not about the coffee. And giving $5 to charity doesn't always accomplish much either.
Thank you. It's called "random act of kindness". The first woman didn't do it to change the world, she did it to be nice.
Eta I quoted MK but forgot to quote @flummadiddle85
It hardly seems random anymore when you're prompted to do the same for the next person in line by the barista. It seems more like peer pressure, and an expectation placed on the next person. And who's to say the person who broke the streak didn't go off and do something different rather than buy coffee?

You've just dashed all my hopes of being able to handle my crazy toddler and NB alone.

But everyone was in line to buy a drink anyway. It's a nice gesture. Has anyone ever bought your coffee while in line? It's something so tiny, but really nice

No, but I'm rarely in line for coffee anyways because I'm too cheap to go out and buy it. Anytime I'm at Starbucks it's because I have a gift card. Actually, it's more like DH has a gift card, but he doesn't like coffee, so then I use it.

Can I just say that this board has the love-festiest UOs of any other board ever in the history of TB?

Seriosuly we need someone to come in with an actually unpopular opinion. We just end up talking about food 99% of the time.
That's why I love this board. Hey, I said I liked pine paneling. No one disagrees? Come on, people!
We have paneling in our basement. It's growing on me. More because I don't want to remodel...
Oh I dislike paneling for sure. Especially where I was raised in Northern MI, downstaters with second homes and tourists who rent homes love "wood cabin" style abodes. Paneling = too much wood = wood cabin feel. I hate it.

^^^See guys? This is how we disagree.
Actually, I thought I felt the same way, JEPES, but then I started googling for decorating ideas with the wood paneling and if you do it right, it feels beachy and not like a log cabin. So that's the look I'm going for.
So, I get that not everyone knows the sleep cycles of my baby, but if I say to you, "She's not really awake. She opens her eyes mid-nap, looks around and goes back to sleep if nothing stimulates her," the correct response is not to walk over to my baby, shake her foot and coo in her face. Just sayin.
I went to an outdoor party once and by some kind of miracle, DS stayed asleep during the transfer from his carseat to his stroller. That NEVER happened! So I was going to be able to enjoy the party with a sleeping baby! Then someone who I didn't even know came over and started stroking his feet. He woke up. I'm still mad about it a year later.
It's always super entitled people who think someone standing up for boundaries and personal space is rude.
Also: I hate on pregnancy forums when someone asks how to tell people not to touch their belly without being rude. Saying 'Don't touch me' is in no way rude. It is, however, incredibly rude to presume to touch someone. Ever.
Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste,
It all revolves around you.

This makes me sad Weve been slowly remodeling our home and my DH LOVES the cabin feel. No wall panels, however he is slowly covering all the ceilings in cedar tongue and groove...and I love it. Here's DDs room...sorry pics weird.
I think it looks nice, too, Sgriff1. Vertical wood paneling on the walls from the 70s is not nice looking though, IMO. I think it closes the space off and makes the room feel smaller.
I am going to hate buying a house with my husband, I think.
Do you guys have vastly different tastes? I'm fortunate in that DH and I have a nice little Venn diagram of decorating styles where we had a pretty good amount of overlap. And the house we're buying is SUCH a good combination of the things we both like in homes. I feel ridiculously lucky to have found it.

I agree with that. Our house is from the 70s, so we actually ripped down dark wood wall panels when we moved in.
