Can't believe this didn't get flamed

I thought we were pretty nice here on N14, but O14 might really be shitting some unicorn glitter. I cannot believe this chick did not get flamed.

It's super long, but the TLDR version: OP basically plans her own baby shower (since the day of her BFP guise!) and then complains about everyone (she's micromanaging) who helps out -- especially her mother (who is supposed to be throwing the party?) because what she did wasn't good enough or what OP wanted. Culminates in the end with tears when opening her mom's present (after the shower since they apparently didn't have the venue long enough -- 6 hours -- for her to open her presents) because her mom bought her stuff. All she wanted was love, yo! (And a perfect catered garden tea party with pink accents!)

 So, I accidentally posted this on the O14 board. This should be fun. Officially my best worst pregnancy brain moment ever. The internetz are hard!!!

She sounds like an entitled princess. If several people offered to help with the shower but they weren't meeting her expectations, maybe her expectations were unreasonable.

If you actually took a few minutes to read the whole post, you would understand where she was coming from and why she felt the way she did. You have a right to your opinion, but she also has a right to her feelings and how she deals with her emotionally abusive mother. We know more than you do about what she went through growing up and continues to go through to this day. So until you have walked a day in her shoes and experienced all that she has, you need to shut the hell up and mind your own business.

I'm with you on this @absolutelymaybe‌ -- the op came off as nothing but ungrateful with everyone else's efforts and would have gotten a totally different response on any other board.. First off the OP is very well known on O14 BMB and has been through a lot. If you only want to catch bits in pieces of something and make a big deal out of it. They you are riding in on a high horse. Just like you all get snarky when a newbie post a stupid question.
Secondly....Don't you just love when you get flamed for something you posted by other memvers/BMB. Well here is the kicker you just did it. So welcome to a place to get flamed.
Third...If you are not on our BMB everyday, since getting BFP then please step and way from out board. You do not know when and why OP had planned her shower. You really don't know if she was going to get a shower unless you have gone through and read each back story.
Forth...now I remember why I don't hang with this BMB! I do have to say I have lurked here to see what crap you are all pulling and the stupid crap you all talk about. Just know that the crap you are pulling with O14 will come back to bite you all hard.

So if you actually read it the time was 6 hours in the building. Including setup and clean up. My shower was small and my hosts spent that much time easily start to finish. But clearly nothing will stop you so go ahead and judge...We love her and really, at the end of the day, your opinions don't matter.

I'm not really sure of your point here....all I was saying that where I am from, a wedding reception is usually 6-8 hours long. Where as in comparison, baby showers are usually 2-4. I can't imagine being a guest at a baby shower for 6 hours & no wonder so many of them had to leave early for "prior commitments."

Thanks for your kind words though, my wedding and reception were amazing, and my guests were shuttled back to a hotel by two coach buses that my husband and I provided as many of them had been drinking and had an amazing time ;-)

First of all groups posts are linked all the time in other groups..there is nothing in TOU about that.  

Secondly no where in her post did she tell anyone to flame her.. She was just expressing her shock that she wasn't flamed..

Methinks your reading comprehension is poor. The shower wasn't six hours. The place was rented for six hours. Big difference. They've got some bright ones over here on N14. I guess it's good it doesn't takes brains to act nasty.

As I mentioned, I was watching SYTYCD (don't worry, it's now PAUSED for the time being as this is a little boring) - My apologizes for not being fully focused on the OP's 35 paragraph (yes, I counted) post.
