I tried to read this whole post, but I'm at work and thus had to do a quick perusal. From what I gleaned, OP directed the board's attention to a post on O14 (which I also tried to read, but holy hell, it's a novel), then 014 folks came over here with fire and pitchforks and "You don't know her LYFE!" then things denigrated into a lot of dick eating. Have I summarized this correctly?

FWIW, when I was reading the O14 baby shower girl's post, for some reason, with the tea partiy obsession, a SIX HOUR shower (with no time to open presents?? WTF?), back and forth cattiness between her family members, coupled with the mother-in-law scheduling elective lipo and fat removal, I had a vision in my head of "This is the sort of shit that happens on the Real Housewives of Orange County." And then immediately, I pictured the Baby Shower Girl's mother as Vicki Gunvalson (WHOO HOO!) and the Baby Shower Girl as Brianna (even before I saw their picture at the end of that really long post).

Forgive my harpi-ness (harpi-osity?), but that's where my mind went.

Only because it's been made clear on many occasions that if you disagree with a super active board regular, you will be told in 284 different ways to STFU.  If it's another super active board regular who disagrees though, that person won't be told to STFU, but will have their concerns downplayed or minimized.  At this point, I think people have just learned to not say a damn thing.

I'm sorry I honestly have no preconceived notions of O14. I'm originally from June 13 and there are a few of my girls over in O14 so I always just thought that anywhere who has any June 13 girls is automatically awesome. Then the name calling that was not as awesome.

I didn't read the post because holy shit balls that was long.  I did, however, read the comments in which every single poster told her how beautiful she looked in the picture.   Based on the summary that PP's have given...I thought she didn't like her mom.  Does anyone else think it's weird that she ended the post with a picture of the two of them??

.......WOW just read the O14 OP....I felt like I just read the plot summary of a bad reality show.  Plus how everyone supported her and gave credit for being such a strong person.  Sure she might have had a hard and a bad relationship with her mom but man put on your big girl pants your an adult now. 

Plus with the lack of eating all weekend because she cared to talk to her guests rather then get nourishment is pretty sad.  I have been to some other baby showers and biggest thing before games, opening gifts and conversation the expecting mother always stuffs her face.

Totally agree with @missnacholover this shower seemed to take more planning then my own wedding.

 

P.S I am EDD 11-3-14 but there is no way I'm gonna drink the O14 Kool-aid if I happen to go early.

I feel like this is one of those examples where Pinterest has become the devil.  OP seemed like she had 900 billion things that she needed to do at her shower and was upset that they couldn't get it all done in time for the 6 (previously 8) hour shower.

What happened to cake and crepe paper?  Why does shit have to be on steroids ALL THE TIME?
