I normally don't bother responding to threads like this but in this case, I think things are getting way too out of hand. Speaking as someone who has been a member of this group since I was 8 weeks along, I don't feel like I "know" any of you. I respond to threads when I have something useful to say (as a vet I often comment on posts pertaining to everyone's pets) but other than that and the occasional message of support or posts like my one today about hiccups, I'm a FTM and don't often have any useful advice. I have found reading everyone's comments and humorous stories to be extremely helpful as I learn about pregnancy. Does that make me a lurk? I did post to the Google doc as soon as we had a name picked out but that was just 3 or so weeks ago. Does that mean I've only belonged since then? I don't know how to post funny memes or how to make my signature fancy or how to make one of those tickers. Does that also mean I can't truly be known? There are 800 some (probably a low estimate) people that are members of this group. How do you become part of the exclusive few that get to be known as "us"? My point is, poza.marie asked an innocent question and I am ashamed at how some of you responded. This is the one app I found where people seemed to treat others with respect even when a "dumb" question was asked.
3 posts since January? That would put you in the "lurker" category yes...
...not sure how much you actually lurked though, as you should also know that white knighting is never well received.
It's one thing to lurk, and occasionally post or even never post. The point is she didn't post an innocent pregnancy question, she dove right in wanting to be a part of the most intimate part of this group, and then complained we made it too hard to get in.
I never wanted to be a part of any intimate group...I thought it open. My mistake. And I never complained about not being invited in, just bummed at the way people responded. That's all.
OP everyone here is super nice....I post pretty regularly but don't want to be on the Facebook group. I think people were more just confused about why you are not interested in joining in here? We have lots of fun daily threads and good discussions. Search for your questions and you will find tons of answers...,and definitely introduce yourself! Really the ladies here are cool....but admittedly it sounds strange to want to see personal info of strangers. We aren't hostile...just preggo and protective of one another. There have been lots of crazy people on this board in the past...so lots of us are extra careful.
Well.....in that case: Welcome. I'm going to go eat some pudding. Do you like pudding?
What kind of pudding, I'd like pudding.
I think its chocolate. I haven't checked yet. I'm still at that "I'm afraid to drop the baby if I don't hold her with both hands" stage, so haven't eaten yet.

I hope I don't... my doctor said the return policy was void once we cut the tag...babies are like mattresses (I work with this doctor, we share the same senses of humor)
My first poop at home post Benjamin was awful. I cried on the toilet. I'm sure it was the same diameter as a soda can. I thought I was gonna bust a stitch.

Prepare yourselves ladies! It took me 3 days to poop (even taking colace every day) and when it happened, it HAPPENED.

With my first I was terrified, with my second I sat there and talked my self through it. *hugs*

I hate pooping in general, so I know the first poop after baby will be glorious. *rolls eyes* I wish I could poop glitter. I would be OK with that. :-p
I'm going to take a low dose of Mirilax every couple of days starting about 38 weeks to keep things softer.... then when I'm post labor all that will already be in my system and moving through nicely. I've been told it helps.
I'll do anything to lessen the post partum poo predicament.
With my first I had the hardest time pooping I tried everything I finally had to go to the ER cause I wasn't able to pee either. With my second I learned my lesson and the only food I ate in the hospital was salad and fruit and was able to poo in the hospital and it didn't hurt at all.
GAWDDAMMIT!! I actually had to WORK yesterday and I miss such wonderful and glorious things!!

I am so confused by this entire thread....I am going to take a nap after I get some pudding. You know what they should make....pudding in those sectioned yogurt containers....you know the ones that have fruit on one side and yogurt on the other and granola in another? I say, fill that shit with a pudding smorgeshborg.
I know, I am a genius.
Chocolate pudding with graham crackers and tiny marshmallows. OMG.
For the record, just so all the FTMs aren't completely mortified -- I had no ppp (postpartum pooping) issues. Second-degree tear, but I knew it was best to get the first poo out of the way, so I just didn't let myself be afraid of it. Had baby at 9 p.m. on a Sunday night, had pooped before noon on Monday.

Yuck.
I started iron pills for anemia today. Poop should be interesting from here on out.
Knock on wood...they didn't bother me too much last pregnancy.
