  • Normally I feel bad for people I work with when they get fired.......but, one of the shift managers where I work got fired recently and I am so happy.....I, and apparently quite a few coworkers, hated being assigned to work on the shifts she supervised. I've been working there for about 8 months now and last week I felt less competent at my job than I did on my first shift.

  • UO:  Intros on the cd board are unnecessary

Just going to put this out there since Nana refuses to make a pin that says "stop freakin' introing.  we're not going to remember you from that anyway"
Totally agree with this, for all boards.  Intros are nice but I forget who intro'd in like 5 minutes.

I'm getting tired of the Trendy Bumz joke, especially when used as a response to a newbie question.  It always seems like a legit suggestion and newbies won't know that you're joking!

  • I'm contemplating giving up breastfeeding.  I'm traveling several times in the next few months and I really hate exclusively pumping for 48 hours (props to anyone who does this).

Next week I fly to Atlanta and the whole ordeal of bring 30-40 oz of milk back on a plane is just something I'd rather not deal with.  I'm even contemplating dumping the milk, I have a big enough stash to do it, but I think I might cry if I do that.

I think it's just the fact that I need to carry so much more on the flight than normal.  And then there's the cooler with milk and bags of ice.

  • I was at the grocery store yesterday for work. It is not okay to fill your cart with cartons (PLURAL) of ice cream after asking your two year old "wanna help mommy pick out ice cream for mommy and daddy?" First of all, why not get some for the kid and second, add some vegetables to your cart-the lady was so big she couldn't maneuver to even pick up the ice cream

I never intro'd and saw all these people introing and was like..um was I supposed to do that? It's a CD board, didn't seem necessary.

Maybe people should lurk for more than five minutes and find the answer to their question.

My UO: If you start your post with 'I'm sure this gets asked a ton, but....' Then don't hit post and go back and look through the last five pages of posts. Otherwise be prepared that it may not be a welcome question and you may get some snark.

Also, this brings me back to my whole 'basic reading comprehension' post from last week. If you can't pick up on the most obvious sarcasm, especially when several people are piling in on the joke, you don't belong on the internet.

    Hear hear!

Also - if you really thought trendybumz were a brand to shop for, google them.  What comes up? A whole bunch of CD board threads about it.

Not meaning that we should pile on newbies...but we do answer plenty of new/unknown people's questions politely and helpfully, often without snark - if they can ask it clearly and seem to have a clue. If we didn't have any inside jokes here, what would the fun be?

    After all...
UO: you can't just talk about diapers all day long.
Not disagreeing, but I also think there are plenty of people who lurk and get the joke but are probably also intimidated from jumping in because of it.
  • @stringy813 your Sheldon gif was perfection.
  • I know some of you have had issues with CDs

    Another relevant 'U'O this week:

if u post in txt speak or otherwise have really just long terribly put together paragraphs with no punctuation capitalization or other indicators of flow no one is going to want to wade through your post trying to figure out what youre saying i mean is it really that difficult to even just add some periods in between your separate thoughts does anyone else get annoyed by this
I have no idea what you're talking about I have no issue whatsoever making sense out of a several hundred word paragraph that has been morphed into one long ridiculously confusing sentence I think the reason I have no problem understanding is because my brain is superior and can fix someone's stupid mistakes while reading and typing and thinking all at the same time booyah

not in the way that post was though. neither of you every use it 3+ times in one post. if you do I will call you out from now on :)

I overuse haha instead. never got into lol.

In chat, I've frequently caught myself saying 'Lol/haha so blahblahblahstory lol/haha' and having to delete one of them. Other times I don't catch it as much.
