    WHOA.
When you have students who are nineteen and have not passed a class for three years...just keep taking them over and over...and not showing up to class...you start to wonder why they are there. Are they selling drugs and their customers are at school? Are they continuing to go to school so they don't have to get a job and move on with life? This describes more than one of my students.

Totally agree with this. I grew up without air conditioning and liked it (although it is necessary in ATL) I operate a little more extreme though: max 80 in the summer and 65 in the winter. Needless to say H likes it colder in the summer and warmer in the winter. I just can't get down with wearing shorts inside in the winter though - I want to wrap myself in a blanket.
I actually only put 75 because I didn't want answers of "My god!  I'd swelter in your house!!" but I'm comfortable into the low 80s.  I just love being warm.  It's so cozy.

You would freeze to death in my house! We keep the AC around 71 in the summer and the heat at about 65 in the Winter. Luckily my husband is a fellow polar bear.

I hate how long the UO thread and FFFC thread get.   This one was already 2 pages by the time I logged in this morning.  It was 3 by the time I opened it.  It was 4 by the time I was finished reading and started posting.  It will probably be 5 by the time I hit "post reply" and there was NO drama in here at all.
I like it when threads like this have no real drama, though.  When the shit hits the fan on a newbie asking if they're pregnant it's one thing-- when people that are a part of this board discuss stuff I like it when things stay civil.

  • My UO: I think it's a little strange when people post a BFP on this board before telling their husband. I just think he should be the first to know. Even if it requires waiting.
    Absolutely this.

Bill Clinton is my favorite president.
    This cannot possibly be unpopular.
Oh, I'm sure there are some Bubba haters around here.
Well then they need to go sit in a corner in their wrong-ness.
Digging this out from page 3-
Not sure if this is unpopular or not, but I feel sorry for Monica. I didn't realize until she popped up again recently that she was 22-24 when they were "involved".

Not an UO but where did the thread "Possible First Pregnancy? Totally Unsure!!" go?  That shit had all the sloths in it!!!

@trickyjedi, my guess is that the OP got her account deleted. That deletes all the posts as well.

Nooooo! I never got to see the reactions to my creepy sloth pic. I shall post it again for those that missed it. YOU LIKE?

I think this is probably unpopular. I just got called for jury duty (for July), and I think it might actually be interesting to serve and wouldn't mind too much if I get picked (this is probably also because I am salaried and would get paid through work regardless - so wouldn't lose money).
A year ago I got called for a Grand Jury. Basically it's not in a court room, but just looking at evidence to make the case go to trial. Anyone a lawyer out there? Well I got called for a 12 month term. I have to call in once a week to see if I need to show up or not. Different case and things all the time. I enjoy it cause it's interesting, I get out early most of the time, I get paid full pay by my employer and a small fee (+gas) from the county. I get sad when we don't have to go and I am sad that is over next week. The only bad part is driving into the city with the traffic in LA.

  • @WestCoastGirl05 just putting it out there - I loved being pregnant. I had a lot of the same thoughts that you expressed but in the end it wasn't near what my overactive imagination had conjured.

My UO- I think wearing gas masks to work out is the stupidest thing I've seen in a long time.

    Say what now?
Is this a thing? What possible reason could this be for? Making it more difficult to breathe? - which wouldn't help with fitness, calorie loss, or really anything...

@Kredd88 I agree! They flat out freak me out! A guy got on the treadmill next to me wearing one and he sounded like "Bane" from batman. I asked him what the hell it was for and he said that it was supposed to mimic high elevations. I guess he was training for a marathon or something. Not sure if there's anything out there backing what it claims to do - that's just what I was told.

Ooh @LauraT25 I just remembered another UO I have. When I'm reading a book series I have to finish it. No matter how bad it is. The reason I tagged Laura is that she mentioned she never finished the Harry Potter series in a thread awhile ago. Did you ever finish the series @LauraT25?
EDIT: Wow tons of spelling errors!
  • My uo: I absolutely hate sitting at a desk in an office. I would much rather be on my feet all day moving around than sitting.

Dude, the ocean is nature's toilet.
The ocean is awesome. AWESOME. You can disagree, but you're wrong if you do ;)

I DID! The funny thing is, I usually stick with a series too (see: Left Behind). HP was an exception because it wasn't that it was bad, it was that I felt betrayed/angry/etc..only a really *good* book can make me feel that strongly.
Good point. I am planning to start the last book tonight and I can't wait!!! I felt the same as you after the 6th book. In a way, I can see why you didn't want to read the 7th. But also, I want to finish it in the hopes it gets better :)
  • Oh, I thought you were upset that she goes pee in the ocean.

I love the ocean as well.
Haha oh phew, I thought you were hating on the ocean. I guess IDGAF if other people pee in the ocean. Or if I did care, it wouldn't stop anyone from doing it.

I couldn't do an office job. I get restless. I'm an ECE in a kindergarten class and I'm am on the go constantly. My day flies by!

I was a preschool teacher for 8 years before I got my current job as a child development specialist in a 0-3 program. It's an amazing job but about half the day is desk work and paperwork. I so badly miss running around all day with the kids!

  • @Whitney101411, I hate popcorn as well.

I can only handle social events like what you mentioned once in awhile.  Example-- my wedding day was awesome but I was tired of all the hugs and grinning.  We were both quiet for most of the drive to our honeymoon since it was such a busy day that the silence was relaxing.
