Ladies, I have to leave this here. I don't normally ask for things like this, but please please pray for my mom (and family). She was diagnosed with oral cancer nine months ago and had major surgery on her jaw/neck/lymph nodes. They tried to remove all of it, but she just found out that it has come back and has spread. The doctors say that it is non-operable and they are meeting with her again to discuss other options on Thursday. I am terrified and heartbroken. She has been through so much physical pain already during the past six months from recovery from the surgery and has had two parts of her jaw removed. I am trying to remain positive and praying for her strength and some kind of miracle. She has always been in perfect health until this happened. Please pray to your higher up and send positive healing thoughts. Thank you.
@whitney2302, sorry its raining on your last couple days. I hope tomorrow is a nice sunny day. Wake ups at 4am?! That's terrible! We leave tomorrow how was he on the drive? And how does he like the beach?
Tomorrow is supposed to be nice. The early mornings are rough. I'm hoping it's just a phase. The drive wasn't bad. The last hour was the worst. He was just ready to get out of the car! But he's now developed a hatred for the car. He cries every time we get in it. I'm hoping it's just bc someone else is in the back with him and he thinks they should get him out. He's always been great in the car. It might be a long ride home. A DVD player would probably help :-S He loves the water and watching the birds. He's not sure of playing in the sand but loves to walk in it. The pool is his favorite. I hope your drive goes smoothly and he loves the beach!
@whitney2303, my LO has never loved the car either but he does get more upset if someone is in the back with him. Hopefully he sleeps a ton on the way back.
My child has gone nuts. She has been super whiny and clingy all damn day. Is it bedtime yet?
Grayson has been like this every evening for the last couple of days. I think he's teething because he's never like this. I find myself counting down the hours until it's his bedtime...
I'm going to a Game of Thrones exhibit tomorrow. And I'm trying to be really excited about it even though the spouse picked tickets at nap time. She'll just sleep in her carrier right?
Also I'm trying not to be bitter over the fact that the spouse ruined my Hitchcock exhibit, at the same location, several years ago, by working late.
Happy thoughts.
@Sympkin That sounds freaking awesome! I'm so jealous! Have fun and don't worry! It'll all work out some how with a nap.

We have a fever too. H just called and said that Lily cried for 10 minutes because he got after the dog and 40 minutes because he wouldn't let her on the couch. I want the damn teeth to come through so I can be done with this!
I told my H weeks ago to get a sitter for a wedding for one of his friends that is happening on Memorial Day weekend. He procrastinated until like tonight and now he can't find anyone. He is randomly suggesting neighbors that we don't even really know. I am annoyed because I already know how this game plays out- he doesn't find a suitable sitter and I have to miss the wedding to be with B. Annoying!
Oh no! That sucks! This also reminds me that I'm in a wedding next weekend and need childcare. Damn it!
I have another weaning question for those who've already been there: I haven't pumped since Monday I feel full (not rock hard or painful) and I just noticed a couple lumps around my areola. Is this a common occurrence or could it be clogged ducts? It's not painful but I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow and don't want to set my self up for an infection. I'm wondering if I should express a little?
@HeartLikeMine3 I definitely had hard spots that I was paranoid were clogs but they weren't. It took awhile but my boobs eventually went back to normal (well, saggy and small haha). Given my history of plugged ducts I was really concerned. Just pay attention and see if you see any red streaks or start to feel bad. But it's probably just normal!
Baby drinking milk question. N was drinking 28-30 oz of formula a day happily until she started to cut her first tooth, a few weeks ago. For a few days it was hard to get even 20 oz in her, which I chalked up to her tooth. She bounced back once the tooth was in and started drinking more again, but not necessarily a lot! The dr. told me at her 9 mo appt to decrease her milk intake and increase her solids so that around a year she's only drinking 24 oz of formula/milk a day - but I can barely get her drink that much now! She drinks 8 oz in the morning fine and 8 oz right before bed fine, but trying to 8 oz during the rest of the days is hard. She's a great solid food eater - she eats a good bit at each meal. Should I just chill out?
Oh and @HeartLikeMine3 what I had read is that if you are concerned about plugs, it won't hurt to express a little, but hand expressing is recommended over using a pump or anything. Just expressing a little shouldn't encourage more milk to produce.
@kelly422 - should I be worried if on average she gets about 20-22 oz? If it was up to her, that's probably what she would drink. She's on the younger side here, almost 10.5 months.

Joseph ate a little bit of scrambled eggs for dinner (I had to cut them up really small though) however he did not gag or choke or puke them back up! I was so happy!
I think I'm being played. That's B looking at his blankie he dropped on the floor. He's screaming. This is the third time he's dropped it and each time I go in to get it for him and comfort him.
@CL8badB little stinkers! Good thing they're so cute. Success this time and he's out.
Early confession, that time spent as an awkward preteen singing musicals in my bedroom and pretending I was Eponine has paid off in having lots of go-to songs for lullabies. ">
(both of these were at Walgreens today, cheaper than they have listed here..)
We have the first one in blue and Grayson loves it!! It has plenty of space to place his toys in front of him and doesn't restrict movement much. Also it is pretty easy to blow up. We are pooloholics
ILs just took us out to dinner tonight. "To celebrate". I only heard DH's end of the conversation when booking this dinner with them, and the celebration bit followed a discussion of LO's first steps.
So I assumed it was to celebrate LO's first steps.
