New week, so all the babies not feeling well will be better, all the mommies needing a break will get one, and all the husbands/SOs will get their heads out of their asses....RIIIIGHT?
Sadly I don't think I'll get a real break until Memorial Day. Next weekend is DH's 15 year college reunion (which has activities Thursday - Sunday) and the following weekend I'm in a wedding on Sunday (bachelorette party the Thursday before and rehearsal on that Saturday). I plan to tell DH tonight that I need that Monday to myself. I hope the spa I like to get massages at will be open on that day.
Q got his first haircut on Saturday. Poor second child. We didn't get a single good picture of his "after" but he looks kind of British. I don't know how a haircut can make you look British but more than one person thinks so lol
After all this haircut talk, I decided that B needed a trim in the back... and then decided that I could totally do that myself. I was wrong. Thank God it is only the back and I didn't mess with the front at all.
@megaroo64 I confess that I attempted to trim Quinn's hair a while back. No bueno lol We're just going to forget that happened and still count Saturday as his first haircut

After Bradley's first haircut, MH decided he knew how to cut his hair...he had the clippers ready, and then Bradley flinched which knocked off the guard and Bradley had a bald line in the back of his head for about a month...we let the professionals do it now

My nephew is 2.5 and still freaks getting a hair cut because he's only needed two. He went last month and moved when the woman tried to buzz his sideburns so his hair starts, like, halfway up his head. He looks like Lloyd Christmas.
Thank goodness DH stepped up for me this morning. He took LO for 2 hours after he got up so I could sleep. I was up pretty much all night with a LO who would only sleep being held. Poor guy. I feel much better now. I don't know how I would have made it through the day without those 2 hours.
I got in an argument with a lady Saturday night (one of MH's co-worker's trophy wives) about whether it was easier to be a SAHM when the kids are young vs. when they are in school. She swears staying at home while her daughter is 6 is more difficult than if I were to stay at home with my TWO kids who are 3 & 11m...

He is just so damn squirmy!!! I felt like I had to put him in a headlock! And then.. it turned in to the fastest swipe with the scissors just along the back. So what do professionals even do to keep little kids from squirming???
The only way I can say being a SAHM with an older child is hard (not harder) will be in September when DD2 starts preschool. I will have to take DD1 to school by 8:15, DD2 starts at 9, I have to go back for DD2 at 11:30, and back to get DD1 at 3:15. I'll be running all over downriver and back all while trying to fit in naps for DS, grocery shopping, cleaning and such. But, just A singular 6 year old? @wasnotwas Send that lady to my house for a day. Should shut her up
@megaroo64 they really don't keep them from squirming if they're good. This girl was SO fast even though he was bopping around like he was at a dance party
H left this morning and will be gone for 3 days for work. Of course we are supposed to get really severe storms and I'm a huge baby. Plus side, I seem to get a lot accomplished when he travels for work. I hate him being gone so I channel all my feels into cleaning and organizing.
Colton was unusually difficult yesterday (mothers day) starting with waking up at 230am to play, I chucked it off to me having told him that I wanted to hang out for Mother's Day. Maybe he was so eager to spend time with me. By the time bedtime rolled around, my husband and I were both commenting on how difficult and extra cranky he was all day. And my husband goes, "he wanted to be the son only his mother could love just for you on Mother's Day." Yep. it was that kind of a mothers day.
anyone who's done cake smash photos.... Should I use Betty Crocker whipped frosting from the tub thing or can I use cool whip? or any other suggestions on type of frosting that would be fluffy and soft enough to make a lot of mess but still hold it's shape outside the fridge during the photo session?
I am planning on making a smash cake with one of those large cupcake molds.
@CL8badB you will see him for the first time about halfway through the episode and it's just a split second of him standing behind Jon while Tiffany and the owner argue in the kitchen. He has a towel thrown over his shoulder
OK... so when B starts getting WCM... is it warm or cold? Right now, he still takes warm formula way better than cold and we are almost to that point...
Speaking of haircuts, Grayson is still nearly bald with the exception of a lot of hair growing behind his ears(think bozo the clown). I think we need to even that up!
@wasnotwas, that lady must have one demon of a 6 year to even think that!
@megaroo64, I was wondering the same thing. LO likes his bottle warm and every time Ive given cold WCM in his sippy he lets it fall right out. I really hate to start warming it because that will be a PITA.
@CL8badB Thanks for the input! I think I will look into the pillsbury whipped frosting. I love J's pictures from the cake smash! I figured if he eats a lot of frosting and cake for one day it wouldn't be that bad!
Grayson is finally feeling a little better thank goodness. I'm supposed to be excited to leave for vacation Friday but packing for LO for 8 days is giving me anxiety. And being in a bathing suit around my younger brother's girlfriend is giving me even more anxiety( think Giselle). I'm not kidding she has a model body with not a flaw or cellulite ANYWHERE. And she puts on her little sports bra and booty shorts to go run a couple miles everyday! Gag me X_X
Edited to add she is the sweetest person ever so you really can't hate her which makes it 10x worse!
Ugh, I feel your pain. Our LO just figured out how to climb on the couch. This is not good!!!
Add me to that! B figured out how to climb on the mantle... and the decided it was super fun to launch himself off of it and dive unto the carpet. Awesome.
So I ventured over to the knot to check it out yesterday and now I'm getting ads for engagement rings...we've talked about getting married but nothing is in the works and he hasn't proposed but damnit I'm ready! Lol
@Lizzybizzy80 im watching the show and i feel like im playing wheres waldo! haha
Right? I saw that same scene in the commercial and thought he would be in it more. I'm kind of relieved because they had him miked the whole time and lord knows what came out of his mouth. He said he muttered at one point that we don't talk to people that way in Texas (referring to Taffer yelling at people).
@mcbush aahh!! Saturday I found Quinn standing on Aiden's little man recliner waving a foam sword in the air. He turned to look at me and did a trust fall style drop right to the floor. Screaming ensued.
@CL8badB Where did you get J's "one" onesie from his birthday pictures? It's so cute! I've been looking for a birthday onesie/shirt without much luck.
Alex's fever seems to be down today too. He's still running warm, but on the higher end of normal. The teething is still a mess, but he seems to be on the mend.
Well, the normal temperature lasted only a few hours. Now ds1 is running a temp and is complaining of a sore throat so we are heading to the doctor's today at 6. Our neighbor across the street had strep last week (the mother) and ds1 was playing with her daughter (she walked over when we were playing outside) so I guess it's possible that she got the kids sick. I'll be furious if they have strep because she shouldn't have sent her daughter over (who is 6) if she was sick.
