I have a fever of 102, a sore throat, and aches/chills all over. E is being so cute and sweet playing by herself while I curl into ball on the couch. It's like she knows mommy feels bad. I just hope I don't pass this on to her!
When I change B's diaper, I usually end up laying him down on the floor and sitting down with my legs stretched out on either side of him. He's not strong enough to roll up and over my leg so they act like baby speed bumps and keep him on his back until I can finish changing his diaper.
LO is figuring out how to throw things. I'm slightly worried about this (who knows what he'll throw!), but mostly happy, because he now plays fetch with himself!
Also, I knew he was awake this morning because I heard him having a happy conversation with one of our kitties. Too cute!!!! I think the cats like him better now that he's finally figured out "patting" (it's not quite petting yet), instead of grabbing.
I just accidentally had 2 margs (just the way I like them) because we took my mom out for her birthday dinner and she decided she didn't want hers. Don't tell MH...I'm druuuunk
@GiggleJiggle where have you been lady?? I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day!!
Haii!! I've been crazy busy and my husband was home for Mother's Day and I'm going back to work!! So I've been doing some training and stuff for that. I missed y'all!
Anyone else who has been bitten while nursing, is it less painful to nurse on that side or pump it? Any ideas? He broke the skin pretty seriously.
I found pumping was less painful. Maybe because LO can exert variable pressure from different angles, and the pump is just one kind of motion? Not sure - but LO drew blood last week, and pumping was a lot less scary than I'd feared!
I've been in charge of drop off and pick up for the past three weeks.
This is because DH is/was coaching and his season is over this Thursday! I'm so excited because now I'll be able to go to the gym after school because DH can pick up O from day care. I'm excited to get in shape again!
@dmlk413 Its a vtech sit to stand train. My cousin got it for J. It has really cool features and is good for up to 36 months/45 lbs. ETA those a, b, c, d things come off and the pages also turn. When you pop a letter block into the space it speaks. Like "the letter A is for apple. It has all 26 letters. 13 pieces front and back.
Thanks! I know what DD is getting for her birthday!

Thanks! You're right it doesn't hurt. The bright pink milk is pretty disconcerting though.
Funny story: I sent MH a few links to pajamas I like so that he could pick one and surprise me. Well he wound up getting me three pairs...I love them all so much'n
My girl hates getting her diaper changed. She cries and twists and tries to stand up. I have to physically restrain her to get it done. Does anyone elses LO do this? Will this ever get better?
Danm Box.
Yes! L can not stand his diaper getting changed anymore, or rather he can't stand staying on his back long enough to get his diaper changed. It's exhausting. Also, I get embarrassed when other people witness the knock down drag out fight that is diaper changing.
DD has been sniffling/coughing for a week now. I picked up her cold a couple of days ago and am still sick. This seems to be the cold that will never end.

@sctiger Yup, I strap her in. Most of the time she still goes ballistic. Fun times.
@smpeachey@Murphie82 MIL found the recipe on facebook, it has banana, pineapple and pecans in it. But then she remembered I don't like nuts in my desserts so she also made the cookie cake.
eta: I mainly ate the cream cheese frosting from the hummingbird cake.
@Mommycoffee Ours is at 4pm (after J wakes up from her nap). We're doing a meat/cheese/cracker tray, veggie tray, and fruit tray. You may check with your local grocery store - most of them will sell these kinds of trays from the deli.
@Mommycoffee we're doing Grayson's party from 2-4. With my family that is the time we normally do lunch so we're going to have burgers, hot dogs, chips, potato salad, and pasta salad.
@Mommycoffee you have to feed your guests no matter what time the party is. Ours is 3-5, but I did Bradley's 11-1. We did a sandwich station and bowls of fruit and goldfish all around the house. This time I will probably do something more substantial but stick to his favorites (asparagus, avocado, and chicken).
@subliminalrabbit I am by no means an expert, but a lot of people in my family have diabetes. From what I understand, in order to cause yourself to get diabetes, you need to be much more unhealthy than you are. If you do get it, diet and exercise can help control it, but from what I can tell about your lifestyle (based on how well a random internet stranger knows you) it seems really unlikely that the amount of junk food you eat would straight up cause diabetes.
@BC&LM ON THE COUCH!? Lucy is kind of shrimp I think it will be a while before she can do that. She's been climbing the stairs in our house since she was 7.5 months old, by sheer determination: kneel on the stair, pull herself up, then stand. Now she zooms up like it's no big deal.
What was saving us before was that she tried to get on it without grabbing on to the glass shelf (so getting between them) and would bump her head into the bottom of the shelf and stop. She learned how to stand on her own over the last few weeks and is standing very well on her own now, so she was reaching for the second shelf and put her knee on the bottom and was up in seconds. And then it was like a moth to a flame. She just wouldn't leave it alone. I moved the coffee table in front of the entertainment center. Unfortunately we can't mount out TV to the wall.
Yeah, we have a couch and a futon. He climbed up on the futon a few times already without assistance because it's lower to the ground. With the higher couch, I think he only climbed up once totally by himself so far, but he also took one of his toys and used that to give himself an extra boost onto the couch a couple of other times.
So DH went out yesterday and bought a mothers day gift.... I still have not opened it. It appears to be a gift certificate of some kind. He is now trying to plan something for my birthday. Why are men so dumb!!!!!
Whose doing food other than cake at Bday parties? I was planning a taco bar but that seems like too much work now. 11:30 to 1:30 was what we were thinking for time of party since LO is usually active and happy during that time but I feel like I should probably move it to later if we are not going to serve lunch now.
ETA: pushed send too soon. What time are your parties?
2 pm. We are doing barbecue type foods: chicken wings, burgers, pasta salad, etc.
