My husband is a NOC (Network) Engineer for an IT consulting company. He just got his CCNA and CCNP certifications and is working towards CCDA now! He's a hot nerd.
Prior to that, he worked for a construction company building homes. He's pretty handy to have around
ETA: I guess I'll add his nerdy side - he was a chemical engineer major and switched to econ/political econ since most graduates from his uni went to finance/investment banking anyway. I consider him a hot dork.
5 cycles of "TTC" - 3 intentional, 2 not so intentional. 5 BFPs. My rainbow arrived 10/15/14. TFMC 08.02.13 at 19+ weeks. Everyday I grieve for my little Olive.
Dh is an estimator at a collision shop. Before that he owned a business restoring muscle cars. He is still in the process of moving out of his shop so now all that stuff has been coming to our house. The next house will have to have a big ole shop in the backyard so I can still see him while he works on stuff.
Love having a handy guy! That is how he won me over. He came to my house with a bottle of vodka (the good kind) and a drill!
My DH is a pilot. He wasn't one when we first met and got married. It's been a long journey to get to a good place money wise! We spent the first years of our marriage really struggling. I'm proud of him for following his dream :-)
My husband is also a mechanical engineer!! Love the hot nerds!! :-B
ETA: are you guys in the south by chance?
Add another mechanical engineer to the list. DH designs medical dispensing cabinets for hospitals. Love me some hot nerd too. When DH told me he got a perfect score on the math section of the SATs it was a total turn on
DH is a test lead (something techy) for a locally based IT company. He's technically a math major (aka major geek!), but also has a minor in computer science. Add my DH to the list of hot nerds!
DH sells endodontic equipment to dentists and endodontists (root canal specialists). So his home office looks crazy with all the "interesting" equipment samples.
DH is Body Shop Lead man at a truck body & paint shop. He's always worked on cars, loves muscle cars (especially Mustangs). He does body & mechanic work on all kinds of cars.

Yes!! I LOVE how awesome my H is at math. It really is a turn on! haha. I, on the other hand, am nothing like him...I am a "free-spirit" creative type. Must be what works!
In undergrad I used to basically hand DH (then BF) my Calc I & II homework because he was so much better at it than me. We are both science/math types though, so our battles of logic become rather frustrating at times.

DH is a professional musician- principal trumpet with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, which is one of the Top 10 orchestras in the country! His dream job, and he's only 27! Can you tell I'm proud? 8->
That is awesome! He must be amazing, it is so hard to do that! My H has played with some small city orchestras in Iowa and Nebraska and even those are crazy competitive.

My DH is a pilot as well! I hate him being gone 4 days out of the week, but it's worth it to see him doing what he loves!!
@alphasierra So awesome to see another pilots wife :-) What airline is he with? DH used to be with a small commuter but fell into corporate. We went from maybe a couple days every two weeks to home most every night! It was hard giving up half the bed. Haha!
DH is the inventory control specialist for a medical supply warehouse. When we first met, DH was a high-school dropout working part time as a newspaper delivery guy. He started shopping around for new work when we decided to get married and found a position as an order picker/manual laborer in a warehouse. He busted his ass and was promoted- he went up five rungs on the corporate ladder in one go! DH is as high as he can go in the company without a college degree, so he got his GED, and we are now trying to find the money and time to send him to college. The company is so impressed with him that corporate folks have asked him to create a presentation to give at a conference for all of corporate office and warehouse managers next month.
It's not glamorous, but I am so fucking proud of him.
DH is an architect and developer. Consequently, he actually has his own opinions about what he wants the baby's space to look like and he will be designing our first home! I just care about having a big bathtub and personal closet..

I'm definitely the creative and impulsive one out of the two of us. DH it's a great balance for me. He slows me down and I make him loosen up. I'm a firm believer that opposites attract! Although or sense of humor is identical, so we're always making each other crack up. Eta: posted early
My DH is a TV news reporter. Pretty neat occupation and he's very good on camera, but he has to work weekends which sucks big time. He's considering leaving the news biz after his contract with the station is up and getting into PR for better hours and pay, but we shall see!
My SO is an offshore driller in the oil field. He's currently switching jobs and will go from two weeks on/two weeks off to 30 days on/30 days off. If he's happier, I totally support him. I'm just going to be sad that he will be away from our baby for a month at a time.
