Monday Randoms?

Re: Monday Randoms?

• I have no clue what's for dinner tonight.  I'll get home after DH feeds W, so I kind of shafted him there.

Do any bumpies live in Dallas?  I have to fly out in a couple weeks and am debating there and back in a day vs staying a night.  A meal with a bumpie would sure persuade me towards the latter ;)

I also can't remember the last time I went to the bank. On the random times I get a check sent to me, I use the mobile deposit app. It's wonderful.
My bank just got this.  I'm confused as to how it works.  What do you do with the cheque?
I shred it after the money is in my account.

• I reallllllly want to paint our door yellow.  DH is adamant that it would look stupid.  I just feel like our house looks boring and needs a pop of color.  Any suggestions?

This was when we bought it--the front beds are all dug up now and are all perennials, but the color of the house and trim is still the same.  I also put in a cooler light last year, and the address is on the other side of the door.  Not that any of that impacts color, but still.

• Our house has red door and shutters right now, that's the only reason I said that. I like the navy idea. Here's our house now:

• W has always been a beast, and more so the past month.  She's been so sweet the past week.  If she were like this all the time, DH and I would be planning a family of 10.  Seriously, she is so sweet lately I can't believe this is real life.

DH's parents and brother came to visit us and see our camper with my 4yo nephew.  DH was telling his bro that Nephew could come stay with us next weekend.

Well......the little #@#$ was OUT OF CONTROL.  He broke 4 things in the camper within the 10 minutes he was in there, on purpose.  He was so infuriating, and I'm surprised a 4yo got to me.  Jerk behavior, doesn't listen, damages stuff, out of control, AND afraid of absolutely everything -- the swings!  He was scared of the swings!  It makes me sad, but I will take my niece camping any time she wants to go, but no way in hell will I take this little guy.  :(  Not until he's out of this funk.

• Sorry it's being dumb.
I'd go with the red, white and blue.  In a non-patriotic way of course. :-)
I heard on some house show on HGTV that the easiest color house to resell was yellow, followed closely by blue.  I have no idea how true that is, but I do notice that I'm quite partial to both of those colors when it comes to houses.

I think I would do the trim white if you went yellow with the door. I think Young House Love has done a few different yellow doors...maybe if you showed him a picture of a similar color scheme? I think it would be super cute.

Our door is black. I'm not sure what that says about us.

• @MarisaKathleen‌ I love doors that offer a pop of color. I think yellow could be good! And fun :)

We can't decide what color to paint our house. I thought I had it figured out. A safe set of colors: tan with black and white trim, and a bright colored door. DH brought up doing a blue house with white trim, and red doors/shutters. I think our tiny house would look cute and cheerful with the blue and red. I'm not sure if people would hate it if we ever get to a point of trying to sell.
I'm not so sure about red shutters. I'm having a hard time with that.

Blue grey house with navy shutters, white trim, and a red door would be really cute.

• DS has been an absolute pill this weekend. Crying at the drop of a hat. We're 110% sure his 2nd year molars are coming in. He's been the pickiest eater too. Thank god for the the invention of pouches.

We got a new to us car Friday (2009) and I'm irrationally excited about the mpg. 38 town/highway, it's a hybrid. I'm jealous that DH's car is now nicer than mine.

We have a client appreciation event tonight for work. I thought I'd wear a dress and get all fancy for it. Then I put on my shoes and realized my feet are NASTY. They haven't been painted in months. So on lunch I painted 3 of the toes on each foot. Only the ones that show through my shoes. I didn't have time for a topcoat or for them to dry so it is what it is. When I take my shoes off my feet are going to look ridic.

This house is for sale in a town near us and I'm in love with it. It's a crappy location, or we probably would've put in an offer.  We'll end up in a ranch-style, though, I think.

image

oh. and it's $120k. ha

Super cute! Ranch style is the way to go. I love that our house serves a purpose now and will until we're really old. It's kind of a forever home. Well until I go to the nursing home that is!

• I've had a crush on George Clooney since he was in ER. I believe I was in 6th grade.  I remember Andrew, a boy in my class, telling me that he was old enough to be my Dad and that it was gross.

I still think he's gorgeous almost 20 years later.  It's his smile.

I don't think he'll actually get married.

One of the PhD students who is pretty heavily involved with our office has his dissertation defense today.

He asked if I was going.

I really have no desire to.  He's super nice, but I cannot understand a word he says when he presents.  He's Israeli and has one of the thickest accents I have ever heard.  It would be especially painful.

• I can't decide on paint colors for inside the house.  At all.  I really want to do yellow, light blue and navy blue in the kitchen, but I don't want to carry into the dining room/living room area.  Then I really like those colors for our master bathroom, but I have no desire to do them in our bedroom. I'd like to do the living room/dining room in a light coffee color.  I really like the kahki/Navy look since those are the curtain colors I have.  But I don't want to carry that into the Kitchen.  I want to paint our cabinets white.  I really need someone to just tell me what colors to do.

Can I do the master bath different colors than the bedroom? I would probably stay neutral tones in the bedroom. If I do the blue/yellow for the bathroom what do I do in the kitchen??  Ugh.  I hate this.  I don't want just white every where.  We have been in the house 2 years and have only painted the baby's room.  DH couldn't care any less what colors I decide on so he is no help....

Our bathroom downstairs is yellow. :-)  Mainly because I had leftover paint from painting our living room.

Upstairs our master bedroom is a teal color, but our bathroom is grey with a white/red shower curtain.  I don't think you have to match your bathroom to your bedroom.

If I recall correctly, don't you have a pretty open layout?  That would be the only concern i have with painting too many different colors in your kitchen/dining room/living room.  Ours are all separate rooms, but there's no "flow" other than that our dining room/kitchen/new baby room are cool rooms and the living room and bathroom are warm colors.  Go figure.

All of it. We like gray/tan house with white or black trim and a bright door.  Blue house, white trim, red door. Yellow house, white trim, blue door?  Go nuts. Anything you like.

ETA: you don't need to do them all, just wanted you to know what I was thinking. I wish I had Photoshop. That would make this easier.

I totally agree.  But I'm not taking that on this season.  We're already redoing the deck in the back.  That's the only project that I want to try and do outside this year aside from my massive amounts of gardening.

• We had a fun time this weekend with our friends in town to visit. That is until L decided to projectile vomit all over me at the park on Saturday, then some more once we got home. I thought she just had too much activity and food until I woke up last night puking. Fun times. I hope our friends don't end up sick, I will feel so guilty.

I was also irritated by the formula poster. I assume that the poster just searches for formula checks on the board. Boo.
