I applied for state health insurance and food stamps this week. I cried. I hate that we put ourselves in this position.

I've done the same thing. And I often have a chocolate-induced headache to go along with the 3 pounds I've managed to gain back.  (:| Why can't I respect my body more?

How did you put yourself in the situation? Your DH lost a job. That's not your fault.

If there are 3-5 people who eat at least one peanut butter sandwich a day...it isn't that much. I'm sure some families use peanut butter multiple times a day if that is what they can get.

Our video monitor is on the fritz. We have had it for almost 5 yrs . I want to ask a question about a new one but I feel like everyone will judge me for spending money on something like that (I'm having some major insecurity issues)

This is what these programs are for. Helping you stay on your feet. Don't be ashamed.

I hate that this is seen as bottom of the barrel - or that you feel like you're bottom of the barrel. You applied for coverage to ensure your family will get what I believe should be a right for every citizen, not a privilege. But I have very different views on this of course because of where I live. 

You did what you have to do and I don't think there's an ounce of shame in that.

I just read three Summer Infant models were recalled for the same reason I called a requested a new one last year. The handheld monitor is overheating. I knew I wasn't crazy!

yes, ours is on the recall list. But it is also just old. I can't turn off the video setting because Colby broke the button, so it stays on all night. That thing is bright! The problem I'm running into is that I have cameras in both boys rooms, and I'm not sure where to start looking for a similar system.

It's cheap protein. We get 3 because there are 3 of us that qualify. It's 1-16oz jar per person.

As a pb lover, I'd be OK with this.

We were listening to Cat Scratch Fever - Ted Nugent the other morning and V thought he was singing Can't Scratch Deeper.  I thought it was hilarious!

The most recent example I can think of is Talk Dirty by Jason Derulo.  I like a lot of R&B songs.

I hadn't given my kid crayons until Wednesday. I finally gave in when she said "color". The flameful part, I didn't want her to break "MY" crayons. I would give her pencils though. Apparently I was OK with her poking her eye out but not OK with ruining a dollar box of crayons.

Well they might send you a new one. Or at least a new monitor. Problem solved!

They are only replacing the batteries on the recalled monitors manufactured between 2010-2012.

We didn't use one unless I was out shoveling snow until we decided to move her to a twin bed. This kid is quiet and sneaky! The bonus is I am now able to do chores around the house and let her play in her bedroom. I hate that I love our video monitor.

Whenever a friend asks what a requirement is for a newborn, I always say video monitor. I love mine. Foscam is on groupon right now and I'm wondering if that is a cheaper alternative.

We have 2 Foscams and really like them.  One we used for our dog (there's a confession right there) and the other for Lily.  You can even look at them when you're outside the home, which is why we got the one for our dog initially.

And that's exactly why it took me almost a week to tell you guys what was going on with us, but I mentioned it on IG and figured I could use some support. Even though this is a public forum, I consider a lot of people friends. We have been here for over two years. And IIRC I've taken a lot of flame from people here with stride, so I'm sorry that I have a ton of IRL stress going on right now that I don't want yo get chewed out online too.

I think video monitors are stupid.  Even with having the new baby on a different floor than us, I still wouldn't fork over the money for it.

My FFFC is that I've eaten pizza for the last 3 meals in a row.  I love pizza.  Seriously, I could eat it for days on end.

Confession: I would be super pissed at my husband if he was the soul provider and got fired from his job. Laid off I would understand.

I am super pissed. Confession number 577743: my husband I are not doing well at all as a married couple. There was a letter in his termination paperwork that described how to apply for unemployment. I don't know what we will do if he gets denied.
