Re: Super baby??

  • Oh this morning in my house is not going well. So far my 12 yr old has had a meltdown because

1)she doesn't want to go to school
2)she can't find her white bra that she left on the bar and is no longer there so SOMEONE must have moved it (no one did)
3)the cat ran out the front door when the dogs were brought in
4)a second meltdown about said bra once I gave her an old sports bra and told her time was up she needed to leave

She is going to  try my patience over the next few years I can just feel it. I love her to death don't get me wrong but can someone just wake me up when she is like 20? UGH!!!!!!!

Omg. It had been almost an hour since someone posted here. Guise. You are slackin'!!! I was bathin' LO!! And doing more research on where to land post-military. I still keep getting drawn to the DFW area. As much as I love my seahawks. I can't move to an area just for their sports team. Lol. And the cowboys suck. Haha. But the economy is great. The weather is great. COL is awesome. Several phenomenonal school districts. So many decisions.

@hercules03‌ DFW is fabulous! I grew up 45 min outside in a tiny town. I can't wait to move back to the area not the small town.
@RanFan28‌ and I are both in the area. You should totes move to dfw

DFW is really great. I love to visit Austin/SA, but you run into the cost of living thing there too. Not like SoCal, but for TX it's high. I live about 25 mins outside of Dallas and we still get a small town feel, but we aren't far from the fun at all. We go into Dallas all the time for things. I know you said you grew up here, but if you have more specific questions, feel free to PM me. Do a shout out though cause I'm normally mobile. :)

    @Nrg2020

I can help with heartburn!  I've had what you're talking about (I think).  Mine used to feel like somebody had put a balloon in my ribcage and inflated it. It's the most painful thing I've experienced.  Made childbirth feel like child's play. I even had to get checked for heart problems.  Definitely worth mentioning to your doc.

Anyway, to get rid of it quickly, fill a juice glass (about 8 oz) of water and add a teaspoon of baking soda.  Stir until clear; drink.  This works really well every once in a while, but if you do it too often it loses its effectiveness.  And if you need it that often, you really need your doc's opinion.
Also my mom swears by a capful of apple cider vinegar!
My grandmother does also and she is normally right ;)

ETA: I just seen that I was the 800th comment LOL

You have all my sympathy. If my son sees 14 he will be lucky! All the hormonal changes in them is awful! I need all the medication to survive this. Haha
  • My kid is totes right in the middle of the 4MW!

    Wait, he's 3 months.

And been getting up 3 times a night since birth.

    So that's just my kid.

  • My H officially got the new job. He's giving jcp his 2 week today, he'll take a week off then start the new job.

I'm excited, scared, and sad at the same time. 1. Excited because it's $5 more an hour 2. Scared because it's in AC work so he'll be gone a lot in summer 3. Sad because I'll miss my jcp discount lol

Because you don't put @ricecereal in his bottles...DUH!

    ;)

Maybe if I eat the rice cereal it will be like putting it in my boob-bottle and he'll sleep.  If only that shiz wasn't so gross.  Maybe I'll mix it in my ice cream at night.

  • Ava's sick again, she looks and sounds exactly how she did when she was in the hospital last time. Drs in an hr. Hoping since she's older she wil handle this better this time around.
PRAYERS......All I have to give today!!!!!!!!
  • I don't miss the swelling of pregnancy at all. Especially my nose. It got huge all 3 times :(
  • Speaking of old men living in basements have any of you went on the sex offender registry for your area. I signed up for mine and it alerts me when someone moves in and out of our neighborhood. The last update I got was for a 86yr old woman. I don't even think I want to know why she is on it. The world is a scary place.
  • Yay! I got to the end--that took some serious work today! So what would you all do in this situation?

I went jogging yesterday and a couple streets away I passed kids playing in a driveway. There were five or six of them, ranging from six to 10ish. The 10 year old boy had a long super soaker or nerf gun. He pointed it at me as I went by, walking down the driveway toward me, clearly pointing it at me and walking toward me. Obviously, I wasn't in any danger since it was a toy gun, but I was pissed. I was *this close* to turning around and knocking on his door to tell his parents that he was pointing his gun at strangers going by. I've said here several times that I'm crazy anti-guns, although I'm not trying to start a gun debate here. More of a "mind your own business or not" debate, I guess...

I kept going, but the whole time I was angry and I almost wanted to go by his house to see whether he would do it again so I could tell on him (mature, no?). So what would you all have done? Said something to him? Said something to his parents? Kept running? DH said I shouldn't be that crazy neighborhood person...

I'm NOT TRYING TO START A GUN DEBATE, just wondering whether I should have said something or whether running by was the right thing to do. What do you think?

@MissyC979 I get why you're annoyed but I think the line for me would have been had he actually shot...whatever. Aiming it is frustrating but I don't think it warrants a knock on the door. Now if he shot something at me, whether it actually reached me or not, abso-freaking-lutely I would have had my panties in a very public twist.

Also, I'd say if it happens again I might then say something to the parents.
Good point. Nothing came out of the gun. There was also someone walking a dog in front of me. I didn't get to see whether he did the same thing to her, but if he did I also may have said something...

If he just pointed it at you I would ignore it and go about your business. If he actually shot it at you then I might consider going to his house to talk to his parents.

Yep, I'd only knock if kiddo shot something at me.

I just came across this comparison photo I had. The second one is the day after H was born. I definitely don't miss my swollen feet/cankles.

@MamaCBear‌ my feet were that swollen before I gave birth. I got a pedicure done 2 days before DS was born and the woman was horrified at how swollen I was. Don't miss that at all!!!

It kind of depends on why you were pissed. Were you mad because it was a "gun"? Or because he was going to hit you with something? Would you be just as upset if he pointed the hose at you?
IMO... Just kids being kids... No harm no foul!

  • I'm pumping at work and just realized that the flange somehow leaked and I now have milk all over my nursing tank - right on the boob part.  Greaaaaat....  Now I'm going to smell like milk all day AND I have a wet boob.  Sigh.
  • MissyC979 I agree, since nothing come out I wouldn't tell his parents. HOWEVER I would still be pissed that he was "trying" to shoot something at me. I also have been sprayed with water while walking in the summer and it was on purpose, this neighbor kid is a brat, I did have words with his parents.

But also two days ago I was driving down the road, we live 6 blocks off of a major street.....While I was waiting to turn this little girl (12ish) was just standing in the middle of the street, I don't know what she was doing just standing there. I couldn't turn and the cars coming from the other way were stopping because they thought she was crossing, Then she just walks back to the side of the road where she came from and stands there, didn't go up on the sidewalk just stood on the side of the road. I was already at a dead stop from waiting for her to move so I rolled down the passenger window and asked her what was wrong and when she flipped me off, I kinda got lippy with her and told her to get her ass up on the sidewalk before she got herself killed.

SO I am that neighbor, If it was my daughter doing something stupid like that. I would want someone to call her out on it, hopefully open her eyes to see how dangerous that is. But I also hope I have raised my daughter well enough NOT to do something stupid like that.

    Raising kids is hard guys!!!!

That's exactly what Addison has just started doing. She was always happy to go to most anyone. I hope this is short lived.

  • Random question since this has turned into a random thread catch all... Any one else's baby still really fuzzy? LO has really fuzzy long hairs all over her ears and fuzzy face and back hairs. I just thought it would have fallen out by now.
